So I am running out of storage on the PS4 and wanted to plug my external hard drive from my PS3 into it to save some game files to clear up space. From what I read online I am pretty sure they PS4 needs it to be formatted the same as it was for the PS3, but when I plug it into the PS4 it doesn't register it. Is there something I am missing? Thanks

I thought that the PS4 didn't support external HDs and that you had to put in a special bigger HD internally? At least that's the assumption I've been going on.

There are videos online where people are hooking them up to PS4. But I can't get my PS4 to acknowledge mine.

As of the recent 3.5 system update, you can now upgrade your hard drive to a maximum of 4 TB.
