He is one of the toughest men, & physical workers of his time, & any time before or since.
It's almost droll to think his less than exemplary eyesight is part of why he was so amazing. "

Such was the nature of Stan Hansen.
He wrestled in great matches against every true main event player in the WWWF, NWA, AWA, All Japan, & New Japan Pro Wrestling.
He went to war as ferociously against Kenta Kobashi as he did Giant Baba, or Harley Race, or Nick Bockwinkel, as he did with Bruno Sammartino. Regardless of years gone by or injuries accumulated.
He really did see & do most everything he could do in the Mat-Game. Which is exponentially more than 90% of wrestlers could ever hope to do.
Win or lose, he tagged with great workers, built a collection of championships that read like a fully stamped passport, & above all else: left every shooter, strangler, slugger, street fighter, sissy, schmuck, sadistic psychopath, strap holder, superstar, & seas of spectators knowing damn well who just took them on one HELL of a ride on the business end of a bullwhip.

As I said in the thread where his name was rumored, as a kid I hated Hansen. Didn't like how he wrestled with chew sticking out of his mouth. And I was furious when he defeated Luger for the US title. That being said, as I got older, I've grown to appreciate him. Glad he's going in cause he's had a stellar career.

I'll admit. A few years ago I had no idea who he was. As the years have gone by, I've explored more and think he is so badass. Glad he's getting into the HOF. He definitely deserves it.
