Let me talk to you dummies!
Eli Drake is by far one of the most under used and under appreciated talents TNA has. With their recent push towards building new stars, I thought it was a no brainer to see Drake pushed. He won a feast or fired briefcase and captured the KOTM title...TNA's mid car built. This is a great spot for him. Sadly, he was stuck with Jesse Godderz as a sidekick and forced to feud with Grado.
Drake is GOLD on the mic. TNA has some great athletes, but they are weak on the roster with guys who can handle the mic. Drake can do just that. He could be on a similar path like EC3. No streak or putting him over legends just to put him over. But create the most dastardly heel on the TNA roster. Let him run down mid card talent. Start with someone like Shera or Tigre Uno. Once he captures the KOTM title...up the ante a bit. Maybe James Storm comes out to interrupt one of his diatribes and that could lead to a nice feud. A strong feud with Storm would be a good time to introduce a body guard/insurance policy for Drake to help him beat Storm.
Eventually, because its inevitable, he will begin to be cheered. Then you can set onto the main event level facing main event heels. Build him to a TNA Title match and have his body guard turn on him, costing him his chance at the TNA Title. Then you have that feud and put Drake back into the main event slot.
Bottom line, Drake should be featured on every Impact episode. If doesnt have match, he needs to have a back stage segment or in ring promo. He needs to be removed as simple fodder for Grado or reduced to insignificant roles that feature his best ability.....the ability to talk. Drake is an average worker. He has a solid look and a great knack for the mic. TNA is truly missing the boat on him. And thats not an insult....THATS just a fact of life!
<mic drop>

Cant wait to read some replies.

I remember seeing him on NWA Championship Wrestling from Hollywood when he teamed with someone, I forgot his name. I thought he was alright there. Then when he was signed by WWE, I remember people saying how great the guy is, so I thought about giving him a chance. When he was signed by TNA after being released from WWE, I wanted to give him a chance to see what he could do. He hasn't really impressed me much tbh. I think the highest I can see him do is midcard status. I don't see him as main event material. But hey, something could change in the next few months that will make me change my mind with him as a character, but right now, not too impressed with him as a character or wrestler.

Any particular reason you do not see main event caliber on him? I definitely can see why he hasnt impressed you with what you have seen. He is barely used and when he has been, its been in a comedy act with Grado

What they gave him so far just hasn't impressed me to where I could see him as a future main eventer. When he debuted, sure he was second to Drew Galloway, but he was given a chance, and he just hasn't impressed me. I'll agree that the Grado storyline was dumb and I didn't like it, even though I like Grado. Like I said, maybe in the future with the right storyline or the right match I could see him as a main eventer, but right now, I see him as a midcarder.

No matter how good someone is or isnt....they all need an opportunity. I am hoping Drake gets his.

I was hoping to get some. They have some good stuff.

I was hoping to get some. They have some good stuff. Their shows were on youtube and some random channel on cable. Local Cali tv has it, as does their website. Amazing promotion. Ricker was "the man" out there. If you ever want to hear great stuff, look up his Rickerisms. Percy Pringle used to be his manager.

I like him. I remember he was on that reality show of The Rock's, and the same day I watched that for the first time, just before that without knowing a thing about Rock's show I watched Championship Wrestling from Hollywood for the first time. He won a Royal Rumble like match for a new championship, then a guy tried to cash in on him and he beat him too. Then like an hour later I'm watching The Rock's show and I'm like "Holy sh*t."

I think he's incredibly hateable, which makes him a damn good heel. There is just something about him that is easy to despise. Wrestling needs good villains, and he is definitely one.
He used to go by Dick Rick, also. That is a sweet ring name!

(Youtube) Rickerism promos are on there, as well as season recaps, I think, from United Wrestling Network. There are some matches from the tv show, and some wrestlers like Eli Everfly (killer to watch) put up their own matches. Check out Stu Stone, Mikey O'Shea, PPRay, Vermin, etc.

He doesn't impress me at all in the ring and has a generic look. He can talk a little. Kinda reminds me of Kennedy/Anderson. I'd say that's about his ceiling honestly.
