For anyone wondering about Civil War II issue 5: Lots to think about there. Bit disappointed, I won't lie. Surely he knew that going in? Things change, I guess. I'm hoping when all is said and done that Civil War II is remembered as fondly as the original.

Is We Are Robin any good? I bought vol 1 at Hastings earlier thinking it was some big Robin teamup but I was uninformed. But it was only $7.50 so no big deal. My closing Hastings has graphic novels and collections on sale for 50% off. I walk out with a new stack of every time I go there... Batman 66 Meets the Green Hornet, Batman 66 vol 3, Grayson vol 1 and 2, We Are Robin, Also had Gotham Academy and Wonder Woman 77 vol 1 in my hand but decided to wait.

I liked We are robin it was a good series. With Duke being a big part of the Batman comics now he is important character in that book to read about. I like the feel of the comic of just regular teens wanting to make their city a safer place. Some good stuff happens in that series. Also Grayson is a fun series too super spy that has a Archer feel to it sometimes. Here are my gets today:

New 'Iron Woman' really isn't: Not sure what to make of it as this early stage...what do you guys think? Apparently Iron Heart' is a Japanese blue movie. Yeesh! Oh man. Even the cover artwork is similar.

Im not a huge Superman fan. Havent read it steadily since the 90s after Superman was reborn. But this new Superman series is just downright awesome! The idea of 52 Supes being dead and the old Supes from pre Flashpoint returning is like a flashback to the past for me. Its almost like where I left off is where this book picks up.

Along with the DC Rebirth stuff I mentioned in the other thread I've been continuing with Spiderman/Deadpool which is a whole lot of fun. I'm still with Daredevil after nearly quitting. They brought in Spiderman for an issue which was great. Power Rangers too although I need to check when the next one is out. Picked up various randoms too like Sherlock and Kill or Be Killed but haven't read them yet.
I really wanted to read a graphic novel over the bank holiday and was tempted to bomb through Kick Ass 1-3 but settled on the Dark Knight Returns. I've got an old copy from the 80's and have been dying to read it since I got into comics but I wanted to wait until the film came out in case it spoiled anything. I finally read it and was disappointed. I guess I built it up too much. Still a very good comic and a piece of history but some parts just made me wonder what the hell is going on. Why is Batman taking on a girl who is cosplaying as Robin after only just showing how traumatic Jason Todd's death was? and why do the Mutants and Sons of the Batman suddenly become good guys and listen to Batman just because he's now riding a horse. Yeah, there are reasons but not good enough for me. Also, it seemed very much like a Judge Dredd comic, from the art and the Batman character. It's no bad thing, I love Dredd but doesn't Batman even say "I am the the Law" or I just imagined that.

Oh man. Even the cover artwork is similar. The "holding the helmet on the hip pose'. Yeah. ... I'm about to get into Preacher. Found it online and will also probably shell out for collected volumes. Blown away so far, and kicking myself for not getting into it sooner. I've yet to get into that. I got the latest Amazing Spider-Man yesterday. Female Electro now.

Continuing with the Frank Miller work, I read Daredevil The Man Without Fear. It is amazing, one of the best graphic novels I've read. The story, the writing and the art are all top notch. I couldn't put it down.

Also some Saga and Y: The Last man.

Hoping to get book six soon. Such an incredible story. Hard to put down! Ticks all the right boxes for me. So my 'white wale' right now is the previously mentioned PunisherMAX TPB from Jason Aaron and Steve Dillon...cheapest I've seen the whole volume go for is $115! Don't know what to do, if I should pull the trigger or not... For 22 issues plus a special that sound good man. I'd get it. lol

Awesome pickups Chris. I found a website that has the old Superboy comic I read as a kid. Been reading that. I quite enjoyed Kesel and Grummett as a writer/artist duo.

Thanks Jimmy. Latest pickup is Jason Aaron's 'Southern Bastards'. Heard good things. It's volume one. No probs. I haven't read that. Have you seen the Preacher tv show? Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg directed it. I'm still reading Spider-Man, Superboy and some older Avengers stories.

It's been a good while since I posted anything. Been busy with college this year. Seem like everyday is finals week. Anyways, this is my weekly gets. I really love Lady Killer. I wish the character development would quicken, but the artwork is what draws me in. Also, I'm enjoyed SpiderMan2099 and Flash too. The last issue of Flash is already got me guess at who Godspeed is.

Pick this up from Amazon. It kept appearing in a lot of top graphic novels lists. Anyone here read it?

Picked up the Walking Dead trade vol. 26 as well as the regular & variant cover for Scooby Apocalypse #5 the other day.
The only thing I hate about getting TWD trades are I have a hard time remembering what I read in the last volume when a new one comes out. I know I could easily go back and re-read them, but I just push forward anyways.

Currently reading 'Wolverine: Japan's most Wanted"'. Anyone else read it? It's not too bad. Written by Jason Aaron and art mainly by Paco Diaz.

Kinda new to this section of wfigs, so I'm not sure if this thread is just for current comics.
I've been picking up X-Men '92 , and its reminded me of how much I loved the X-books back when I was buying each month in the mid to late '90s. I used to buy X-Men, Uncanny X-Men, and Wolverine each month.
So recently I've started buying a lot of back issues to not only rebuild the collection I had (still had most of my issues but was missing some for some reason) but to expand upon my collection. I'm having a lot of fun tracking these issues down. I've got a comic shop located in Bowling Green about an hour north of me, and another in Madison about an hour south of me. So every couple weeks I'll make a trip to one of them and browse the bargain boxes for these X -Men issues. I've found many of the same issues in the bargain section that are also in the sorted section. As long as its not ripped up, I'll take the cheaper one because that lets me buy more comics.
I haven't started reading them yet as I'm trying to get a pretty big run before I start reading them.
Just wondering if there are any X-Men fans from this time frame.
