Idk about Benoit, probably would be retired
Eddie would probably be doing part time like Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker

I feel both would have retired with the WWE and become road agents like Malenko (assuming Benoit's heart didn't give out). They had wrestling in their blood and wouldn't have left. With NXT becoming big I could see Benoit becoming a head trainer there as well.

This will sound sick and morbid, but...
I would argue that Benoit's and Guerrero's deaths were necessary to protect this industry and to keep wrestlers health. Wrestling fans owe the current product and the safety features implemented to Benoit and Guerrero. Here were two of the best wrestlers of their time cut down at or around their prime. One gave into addictions, and the other concussions. Look at the variety of young wrestlers we lost prior to Benoit and Guerrero. No one batted an eye lash because they were not big stars. Yet, I want to bet at least one of those wrestlers (Spicoli? Renegade? Public Enemy?) died because of drugs and substance abuse or concussions, and the industry turned a blind eye.
Then, we lose two big names. Two names who the fans--both purists and casual--loved left the earth because of issues. Then, the industry starts changing and fixing things.
Yes, the policies may have now caused us to no longer see guys like Daniel Bryan or Edge, but at least we can still have them with us and be a part of the wrestling industry to this day. We still have the opportunity to meet them and thank them for their years of being on the road and busting their bodies for our entertainment.
The stories of Guerrero and Benoit, while sad and tragic, leave a big mark on this industry. Yes, they will be remembered as great wrestlers whether WWE chooses to remember both or just one of them. But WWE will never be able to erase, and fans should never forget, that Benoit's and Guerrero's death led to the protection of the health and welfare of all wrestlers. If they didn't pass on, we would see Daniel Bryan still wrestling, and ultimately ending up a vegetable of sorts. Their deaths were unfortunately necessary to cause change and protect the longevity of the wrestling industry, and that is how I will always remember them. I won't be able to tell you years from now how many titles they won without looking it up, but I will remember that they changed wrestling for the better.
So, to answer this topic, if they hadn't passed on, Edge, Angle, Bryan, Nigel MCGuiness, and others might be in a nursing home near you, on life support, or dead. I would think Benoit and Guerrero would be wrestling in Japan once their contracts ran out if WWE didn't renew them as they started moving to younger guys during those times. Eventually though, they would succumb to their injuries and demons, and it would not be on a national stage since it would probably happen overseas, and change would still be just an idea.
In short, wrestling would suck if change never occurred, and unfortunately, the industry needed names like Benoit and Guerrero to pass on.
