Better than the insulting Jack The Ripper reference we got when they did TakeOver here. I know...too soon! Am I right? It's just insulting to come out as a random figure from England's past and assume we'd all be giddy as if part of some inside joke with the creative team. As an Irishman, Finn should have known the English audience wouldn't go for it. It would be like a Canadian performer going to a WWE show in America, showing a bunch of weird vignettes all the way through the show of a shadowy figure, then coming out as Richard Nixon and expecting everyone in the audience to be like "That's our guy!"

Since its Texas, he should be The Saint of Killers.
But I'm biased when it comes to anything remotely related to Preacher lol.

I wish he was able to do the Spider-man paintings he did in the indies, those were pretty sick. The Venom body paint he did is what really made him famous. Was it Venom or Carnage?

I'm not sure tbh, I just know once he did the Venom body paint. He got very popular with everyone sharing about it, but I could be wrong though. It may in fact be the Carnage body paint what started it, cuz he's had multiple shirts of him in the Carnage body paint.

He debuted the body paint at Wrestle Kingdom 8 as Carnage and it all sort of took off from there. In the coming months he did Venom, Anti-Venom, Spider-Man 2099, Hannibal Lecter, Bane and more.

Better than the insulting Jack The Ripper reference we got when they did TakeOver here. How was it insulting? Jack The Ripper was a gruesome murderer. I can see how some were insulted by it. It's a terrible part of history.

Better than the insulting Jack The Ripper reference we got when they did TakeOver here. How was it insulting? It's just irritating that they generalise us all by assuming some arbitrary character choice from British history was going to get the crowd hot. It's insulting to our intelligence because it's patronising. Just like the stupid chainsaw thing in Dallas last night. I remember being at a Raw taping in 2006, and they kicked off with a dark match featuring a random English guy who wore trunks covered in Union Flags. The fans shat all over the match because it was insulting to us.

I wonder if he's going to use the paint in the video. It looks like it could be for the Bulletproof Club or whatever.

Fair point but to me I just saw it as an entrance, but hey I totally understand where you are coming from.

Jack The Ripper was a gruesome murderer. I can see how some were insulted by it. It's a terrible part of history. Yeah but it is seen in a way as a legend or myth if you know what i mean, similar to robin hood

Personally I dug all over his entrances. Balor plays off of myth and legends of horror. Ripper and Leatherface made sense and came across well imo.

Look, I'm not saying I was offended by it. I'm just saying I can see why some were.

I was hoping for some kind of Native American thing, or something super Texas'y like Wild West demon kinda thing. Meh. Texasy Wild West demon runs a fine line with Preacher coming to AMC later this year.

Good lord, there was nothing insulting about Balor's London entrance. I'm English, and anything Jack the Ripper related is cool with me. Love Jack the Ripper folklore. In fact, the only thing that annoyed me about it, was that he was wearing the wrong sort of hat.
