Yankees fan much? Forgive me but maybe you really are or another planet In all seriousness, I can't see the Yankees getting passed the ALDS. They have awfully inconsistent pitching and have all year. Even Tanaka hasn't been completely dominant. He embarrassed the Jays the other day but god they suck. They'll definitely beat the Twins. Not even sure how they managed that one, but I guess so many other teams were garbage this year they squeezed through. Diamondbacks and Rockies will be really fun to watch but agree, Diamondbacks over Rockies. Astros/Red Sox will be tight but I say Astros in 5. Dodgers usually choke and have been lately, so yeah - Diamondbacks will run through them. Cubs will run over the Nats 3-0 and the Diamondbacks - but that will also be a great series. Astros v. Cubs? Cubs in 6 or 7. Gotta love baseball playoffs though because anything I say is probably wrong because there will be so many surprises!!! The Yankees have 6 starters that can be an ace on any other playoff team (Severino, Sabathia, Gray, Tanaka, Montgomery, Garcia) although I find it $u$pect CC is having a Championship Career season at 37. This gimmick isn't good when you stretch the truth so far. On all six of those guys best day, they wouldn't be aces over Max, Sale, Kluber, Kershaw or Greinke, to name a few.

just not in the cards for the Yankees this year. the "magic" is with the other teams. im getting sick and tired of this team always being on the other end of "shitbag pitcher has game of his life"...or how the Yankees strength going into the postseason was their bullpen and that failed them (somewhat) tonight.
but tonight was 100% on Joe Girardi.
the HBP call was complete horse shit. but Joe should have just reviewed it, what have you got to lose? "i didnt want to disrupt chad greens rhythm"....you mean the rhythm that had him almost hit a guy, give up a double....its such a bullcrap excuse. not to mention Green shouldn't have been in there anyway, CC was pitching great, and his pitch count was low. once again Joe went to his binders and clipboards and decided that 70 pitches was enough for CC.
At first I was happy the Yankees made the wild card, and again when they dominated the Twins. I thought it was gonna be one of those years where the team gets hot going into the playoffs, and comes through strong. Girardi just cost this team the series and who knows what else this year. I like the guy personally, but I'm done with him as the manager of this team....he has cost us SO MANY GAMES, and tonight was the most important since 2009.

Girardi needs to lose his job over last night. That might be the worst playoff loss in Yankees history. Girardi gave it away. Cleveland didn't beat us, it was all Girardi.

My mind is completely blown that Girardi has been with the Yankees for 10 years. I swear it seems like 2 years ago they won the Series and 5yrs ago we were running Torre off.

So, the Phillies may be looking at Ruben Amaro Jr. as a possibility for Manager.
If this happens, I'm throwing myself into the Delaware River.

What a tough Series. Cleveland really is an awesome team. They don't quit and they don't give you any easy at bats. The Yankees sometimes go up there and ground out or pop up in quick at bats, but Cleveland seems like they just go up there and foul off a ton of pitches, they don't swing at a lot of balls out of the strike zone, and they really made our pitchers work and throw a ton of pitches.
This Series was hard to watch, but I'm just thrilled that the Yankees are moving on. I feel more comfortable in a best of 7 because it limits the ability of shenanigans like what happened in Game 2 being able to dictate your fate. Houston is going to be an absolute fight to the death for the Yankees because the Astros are one of the best teams in all of baseball this year, and they show a lot of those same qualities that I described the Cleveland Indians. Houston has awesome starting pitching, a great lineup and a flare for the dramatic comeback. The only thing I don't know about Houston is if their bullpen can matchup with ours. In a battle of the bullpens, I'd say advantage Yankees....but with the starters they have, they have a lot of guys who can shut you down, so we'll see.
Either way like I said, I'm thrilled to be in the ALCS, I feel like this 2017 Yankees team is a really special group, probably a year or two ahead of schedule, but they've got a tremendous opportunity here, so let's see what they do with it.
The only concern with this team, and moving forward is it seems that word has gotten around the league that Aaron Judge can not hit anything offspeed on the lower portion of the plate, and those sliders and curveballs low and away (not even in the strike zone) really seem to confuse him....he needs to make adjustments or people are going to keep throwing it there.
I hope what happened in Game 2 didn't rattle Chad Green or sour Girardi on using him....he had a tremendous season, one of the best relievers in the game in my opinion based on his stats...you don't want that HBP, non-challenge, and subsequent grand slam to get in his head and ruin him.

I think Joe didn't want to go to Green in this series because every game was must-win and on the chance his confidence is shook.... same thing with Betances. There's a reason he only used D-Rob and Chapman last night. You gotta go with your best in the moment.
Next series everything balances out and resets. So things like if we are up 4-2 in game 1, but our starter is out, Chad Green is getting up....etc
I think these guys have the ability to beat the Astros. But they have to stop swinging for the fences every time....and learn from guys like Gardner who take pitches, have patience and make pitchers work. Judge has fallen back into his post hr-derby form, he has zero confidence and is just swinging at everything. I think to open the series Joe needs to drop him down again like he did in the summer just to switch up the order a little bit and make pitchers work.
That was an amazing series and amazing close-out game. I'm really happy for this team and for Joe because the stupid decisions he made in game 2 are just part of the story now and not part of the ending.

oh what a surprise....the Yankees make the playoffs and completely forget how to hit not like they blew the doors off cleveland. they are striking out at a record pace, every single guy is up swinging at every single pitch and doing nothing. doesnt help the home umpires have been absolutely dreadful with calls for these guys. especially with judge. but in the end its up to the hitters and these guys are making flat out embarrassing decisions at the plate. brett gardner is literally the only guy in the batting order doing anything good. i know its the playoffs and you "only face the best pitching" but its not like verlander is unbeatable....and the other side of it is our guys are pitching amazing too, but the other teams are making hard outs....the yankees are just swinging away giving everything up almost immediately, its ing enraging

Spoiler Alert for ALCS Game 3. The Astros will continue to throw the Yankees junk offspeed pitches below the strike zone....and the Yankees will continue to swing at all of it.
Seriously, though. Yanks need to start hitting or it's over. No wiggle room anymore. Game 3 is must win.
