Stephen Strasburg gets a 7 yr/$175 million extension. Good move, but the Nationals wont have any money to keep Bryce Harper now. Hmmm... well, the Phillies need a power-hitting corner outfielder. They have plenty of money free. Their best prospects are only a year or less away from the Majors. Yes, it's all falling into place...

Syndergaard pretty much beat the Dodgers by himself. Drove in all runs with two bombs and pitched eight good innings.

No repeat for the Royals this year

Are the White Sox for real this year? I remember them being a disgustingly bad team the past 2 seasons and there was talk about how they should trade Chris Sale. It would be funny if the Cubs curse continues...by losing to the White Sox in the World Series.

Well, Tommy Joseph finally made it to the Majors. Let's see if the Hunter Pence trade isn't a total bust after all.
... I'm still pissed about it.

Ortiz again. He can't retire now He's having quite a season. Hopefully if he keeps it up and Boston makes the playoffs he doesn't pull a Tim Duncan and let 40 catch him.

His age will catch him, I doubt he'll be able to have another season like this given his age but I've always liked Papi, so I'd like to see him go out in the Playoffs at least.

Well, I'd pay to watch Odor/Bautista at SummerSlam. Odor might need to reign in the shoot punches, though.

Bautista is one of my favorite players, but Odor should be credited with a home run after that shot. I dont think they can appear at Summerslam in the middle of a pennant race, but Jose Bautista and Roughned Odor sound like better wrestling names than 97% of the fake names the WWE has created the last 7 years.

Just jumped in to remind everyone how crap my Tigers' manager is. The Tigers just blew an 8-0 lead against Minnesota. If they end up losing the game, Ausmus should be fired once he walks out of the dugout and into the locker room.

Pirates sign Francisco Cervelli to a 3-year $31 million contract extension....
WHAT KIND OF WORLD DO WE LIVE IN WHERE FRANCISCO CERVELLI IS A $10+ MILLION DOLLAR A YEAR PLAYER?
This is why we can't have nice things....

This is why we can't have nice things.... Well we couldn't afford Martin, but Cervelli was arguably our most consistent hitter last season; and defensively he's as good as any other catcher. That's not the easiest thing to come by.

Today will forever be remembered as the day the Pirates actually spent money to re-sign a player.
