I feel like a masochist by watching the Cubs. Don't worry they'll pull 15 games ahead of the Central after the break. Again.

Yeah well they absolutely need the rest.

Yeah well they absolutely need the rest. The whole NL needs it after the Cubs rolled through the entire first half, lost a bunch of games but still have a ridiculous pre-ASG record. Yikes.

Eh, the Giants have surpassed the Cubs. They have the experience. Posey, Panik, Crawford, Bumgarner, Pagan, Casilla - all of them know how to get it done.

I'll pick Duvall to win the Derby tonight. I'm just guessing. These things are unpredictable.

wasnt the derby done differently this year tho?
i cant remember but did they do the time limit thing last year? because they are making a huge deal out of this yet in years past you always had 10 "outs" not an unlimited amount of pitches until time was up, so it should be easier to hit more home runs for these guys
i mean, 61 is ridiculous. but even still

The N.L. had their chances and rallies tonight. They couldn't execute. Cueto just coughed it up.
If there's anything encouraging for an N.L. fan like myself, the Senior Circuit has won the World Series four times despite not having home field.
At least KB owned Sale.

i just dont want the Yankees trading Miller & Chapman i dont think people even realize how powerful having 3 guys at the end of games like that can be. i dont know how many strikeouts, or 100mph fastballs these guys have to blow by people
the yankees have a decent offensive farm team
they really dont have a shot this year so get rid of Beltran and Gardner or Headley for pitching prospects some team HAS to have a need for either of those guys. Call up Judge and leave him here. You have Judge/Ells/Hicks as the OF now or if Headley instead of Gardner you can play Refsnyder at 3rd or if he can't play 3rd you call up someone else. There's always a way to fill 3rd base. Or maybe a team wants CC or Nova, there is some value there.
Then you re-sign Chapman to a long deal and you've still got Miller and Betances under control. The most important thing in baseball is pitching ESPECIALLY end-of-game pitching and the Yankees are gonna dump 2/3rds of their strongest asset for a bunch of low level scrubs who may or may not be any good. Next year Tex is off the books leaving 1st base open, A-Rod after 2017. There is gonna be tons of room on this team for "young talent" and you'll be having Miller & Chapman in their primes still. Plus Betances.
Core of Didi, Castro, Judge, Bird, Refsnyder...if they can teach Jorge Mateo to play 3rd that could be a possibility. And they will have tons of money to spend when some new big free agents are ready to get paid. I have a feeling Cashman is gonna dump Miller AND Chapman and they are gonna be struggling to close out games for awhile.

Back to baseball. Let's hope the Pirates can keep up the momentum they had leading to the break.

Hey look, a win against the freaking Nats. It only took 18 innings. Even though the Cubs lost yesterday, they did take two of three against the slumping Rangers. Now it's time to face the Mets. I remember them sweeping the Cubs out of Citi Field in four straight games. I want payback.

If I'm the Yankees, I go for a complete rebuild. Trade any asset of value: Beltran, Chapman, Gardner, Pineda, & Eovaldi. Only trade Miller if you can get an insane package of prospects.
They should try to unload Sabathia and Teixeira but nobody will want them. McCann and Ellsbury should go, too, but they'll stay.

Teams like Tampa Bay, Minnesota, Oakland, Milwaukee, etc should be selling to the SF Giants and clean out their farm system.
