I just got home from Dallas last night and I have to say it was one of the best vacations I ever took. There was so much going on and the whole experience was a lot of fun. I was lucky enough to meet some of my favorite wrestlers over the past few days and figured I'd share some cool photos.
First off, Axxess is a mass crapshow. My gf and I waited in line for hours to make sure we got in early to meet Sasha Banks. I even bought a Del Rio VIP ticket to make sure I was one of the first people into that session. The only problem is that once you're inside nobody tells you who will be signing where. Just a bunch of empty stages with lines in front of them. The app wasnt updated and the staff was unwilling to help. My gf and I got into 2 random lines before they were full and luckily she ended up in Sasha's spot. I waited 2 hours and they told us that she would only sign for 10 more minutes and I still had 15 people in front of me. Everyone agreed to move extra fast and I was lucky enough to make it to her just before she left.
Sasha was pretty pumped about the custom Defining Moments figure. She mentioned seeing it on Instagram the previous week and asked about getting one for herself. I'm in the process of making a WM32 Sasha and I'll offer it to her once it's complete. After a few pics I had ZERO time to chat so she told me she'd watch for a tag on IG, so that works for me. For what it's worth, she's even prettier in person.
After I met Sasha we got back in line for the 6:00 session to meet Bayley. I was there 3 hours early and the place line was already filling up outside! I just beat the rush apparently. Everyone rushed to the Snickers stage (because that's where Sasha was) and to the NXT stage (because that just makes sense) but a helpful staff member told me I might be happy if I got in line at the E! stage (where the total divas were signing earlier). It seemed like a weird spot for Bayley but 15 minutes later she showed up! So thankful that the staff helped me out beause that's pretty clearly against the rules. I was near the front of the line and after the Bayley chants started there was a STAMPEDE to her stage. Bayley was every bit as sweet and charming as you'd imagine her being. She took a lot of time with everyone she met (which pissed of A LOT of people waiting in line). It was by far my favorite experience of the whole trip. I showed her my custom and her jaw dropped. She immediately remembered seeing it on Instagram (she shared it on her account a few months ago). My gf snapped some photos from the side of the stage and caught a good one of Bayley pointing at me saying "OMG YOU are the guy who made this??". She thanked me repeatedly for making it and told me she really loved the Sasha custom I posted last week.
I also met Sami Zayn Friday night at Axxess. His line moved pretty slow but I got to see him just before he left. He signed my NXT belt right next to Kevin Owens. He was also a real cool guy. He was thanking everyone for standing in line just to meet him.
Wresltecon was a lot easier than Axxess in terms of getting autographs. Lines were relatively short and sometimes you didn't even have to wait. I made a Prince Puma custom a few months ago and Tessa Blanchard (Tully's daughter and Ricochet's GF) thought Richochet's son would love it. She put us in touch and I sent it to him for his kid. I made another one along with a custom box to get signed this week. He was really stoked to see it and kept inspecting the box and figure asking how I made it. Which was pretty cool. He called Tessa over to show her too! She took some jabs at him telling everyone that nobody cared to meet Ricochet, we all just wanted to meet Prince Puma. She also made some comments about how it was cool seeing all the fine details on the figure and box.
Here are some other figures I got signed at Wrestlecon. Big shout out to American Airlines for playing kickball with my luggage and banging up some of the cards. I had a big suitcase filled with bubblewrap and figures and the still managed to mess up some of the cards!!
Fun note about Jimmy Hart...He can't find HOF3 at any of his local Targets lol
The Nasty Boys hadn't seen their elites yet. Mine were the first set they saw. They were annoyed that the jackets didn't have any deco on the front and they wanted them in a 2 pack but otherwise they seemed impressed with the shirt, glasses, and headscans. Knobbs said, "Oh look, here are the new toys we're barely getting paid for!" lol.
Non figure related but I was able to grab one of these limited edition signed posters from NXT Takeover. One of my favorite pieces from the whole weekend!
Rob Schamberger had a booth outside of the superstore and he was selling prints. I grabbed one of these as well:
Last but not least I got one of these as well. After the Hell on Earth I went through on Saturday a Axxess I decided to skip the Sunday session. I really wanted to meet Edge and have my RSC elite signed but it wasn't worth the headache. I also wanted to meet the New Day but apparently they capped their line at 50 people. Since I missed out I bought this:
That's my wrap up on Axxess and Wrestlecon. Sorry it's a bit long but I thought some of the experiences were worth sharing. I hope you enjoyed reading it!!
