Awesome that you were able to get the stuff signed and talk with him.
I know his situation stinks, but at least he is still here, and has his wits and much of his health I assume.

It's great you got to meet the Brain. He's one of a kind, and there will never be anyone like him. I find it inspirational that he still takes the time to do these signings, as I know some people in his situation would shelter themselves from society. Long Live The Weasel!
Thanks for sharing

Since you met Bobby Heenan while wearing a Ric Flair t-shirt, please tell me you got him to sign it with the quote "That's not fair to Flair".

Can you post the other photos and stories. I enjoy reading them, since the don't do those kind of conventions in Seattle.

I don´t understand his situation. It looks like he has no lower jaw correct? Jaws are being printed with regularity today with 3d printers. I do not know why Heenan has not had this done yet. It works! They can customize it now and everything.

It works! They can customize it now and everything. Maybe his insurance won't cover it? You'd be surprised how many things insurance companies consider "unnecessary" or "cosmetic" and won't cover them. My dental insurance, if I got a bad tooth, will pay for tooth extraction, and will pay for a root canal, but will NOT pay for the crown needed after a root canal. This is done to discourage getting the root canal (around $300) and encouraging you to get the extraction instead (around $80) . Why? Because the average crown is around $800, and they know not everyone can just pay for it on the spur of the moment out of pocket. So by denying you payment for the "cosmetic" crown, they hope you will choose to forego the more expensive root canal (which they have to cover as it's a medical procedure) and go for the cheaper option instead. So,less they have to pay out.

Well...alot of people come to mexico to get cheaper stuff done. Last year I fell and broke my arm without insurance. Xrays, doctor examined me, a wrap up and a pain shot cost me $150 down here. How much would that be in the U.S. without insurance? $4 grand?
I am sure Heenan has a LITTLE money. It could be done down here for peanuts.

In regards to Heenan's jaw/overall health - the guy's been through the ringer.... after reviewing his Wikipedia page, I'm thinking they've just decided to leave well enough alone:
From Wikipedia:
"In December 2007, Heenan had reconstructive surgery on his jaw, after the first surgery was unsuccessful. Heenan was placed in a medically induced coma and was slowly brought out.[22] In the second half of January 2008, Heenan had come out of his medically induced coma. Though not yet able to speak, he was communicating with his eyes. He has more surgeries to come, but they are plastic surgeries to reconstruct facial features. The reconstructing of his jaw is complete. In October 2008, it was reported that Heenan was then able to speak a few sentences before he gets tired. In February 2009, it was reported that while Heenan is still relearning how to speak clearly, he was out of the hospital and was planning on attending some Major League Baseball spring training sessions. Heenan accompanied Gene Okerlund to the WWE Hall of Fame the day before WrestleMania XXV. Heenan was briefly shown on-camera during the ceremony, one of a number of segment cutaways showing prior inductees seated in the audience, displaying visible signs of the effects of his illness.
On December 11, 2009, Bobby Heenan was hospitalized at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL after an examination of his rebuilt jaw found an infection that needed to be treated. As a result, Heenan missed his scheduled appearance at the K&S Wrestlefest event in New Jersey. By 2010, Heenan's jaw infection was completely eradicated. In 2011 he broke a hip and his pelvis in a fall and recovered within a few months.
According to an interview given by Jim Ross in October 2013, Heenan is "hanging in there." However, he is continuing to have trouble speaking as a result of tongue cancer treatments.[23]In April 2014, He was in Las Vegas attending a wedding, he fell out of bed and broke a shoulder. In September 2014, he suffered another fall and broke a hip."

I remember that stuff on Wiki. He had an artificial jaw at one point, but I guess because of all the problems, they just decided to give up on it.

Hey guys, I'm considering venturing to Philly this Saturday for the big "Icons of Wrestling Collectorfest" event at the 2300 Arena (yep, the old ECW arena). They're featuring a star-studded lineup of Legends..... HBK, Kurt Angle, Rick Steamboat, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, and countless others.... should be a great time. But one of the main reasons I want to go..... I'd like to get my JAKKS Classic Bobby Heenan figure signed. Heenan is one of my idols... I grew up watching his antics in WWF and later WCW (to a lesser extent)..... he's one of the main reasons that I like wrestling... and I'd like to tell him that! I have a question for anyone who's met him recently - and I don't mean to be disrespectful in any way - I'm aware of his illness & his condition appears somewhat frail.... I'd like to have him use a paint pen on the figure..... do you think he's able to use the paint pens without much of a hassle? I guess I'll have to evaluate the situation when I get there & decide if it's worth bothering him with a fancy colored paint pen - I've been using them for all autographs lately and they look so good! And I'm sure Heenan's been doing this for years and I'm probably just worrying about nothing.... but I'd hate to hand him the paint pen & have him struggle to use it, or whatever.... and have it be awkward....and I don't mind just using a regular marker.... but at the same time - I want this one to be special.... as I have such respect for the man, and I love the figure.... Anyone have any semi-recent Heenan reports? UPDATE 4/16/16Well, made it to the ECW Arena today for the Icons of Wrestling Collectorfest! As promised, I made a beeline for the Bobby "The Brain" Heenan table as soon as I got there (about 15 minutes after they opened). Since Heenan had to cancel his last two appearances where I planned to meet him - I did not want to waste any time! He looked about the same as the photos I've seen.... so no surprises there. I told him that I always enjoyed watching him on PrimeTime Wrestling.... my favorite bit was the episode where he was forced to dress up as Santa Claus & he ended up "spoiling Christmas"...... Heenan responded to me - his wife told me what he was saying. He said he got in "big trouble" for doing that.... he said a lot of people didn't find it funny. I responded that I found it hilarious & I loved the whole thing. I mean, after all - he got his butt kicked by Piper for doing it! No issues with the paint pen..... I shouldn't have worried about it..... I had been on the fence about the photo op, but as someone pointed out on here, he should be treated the same as everyone else..... and this photo op most definitely belongs in my collection! In fact.... while it's hard to look at Bobby's condition without feeling a little sorry for his situation..... this will likely be one of my favorites..... Thanks for the advice, I'll likely be doing a full report on the ICONS show later tonight! As you can imagine - I had a blast! Thanks for the advice.... -Flair Forever Very cool. I met Bobby years ago in Maryland. Anytime you're presented an opportunity to meet a legend then go for it. Glad you got to meet him.

I love the way the Jakks Classic superstars figures look signed. The paint pen pops on that Bobby. Glad you met him and got that done.
