I'm usually pretty good at keeping track of my collection.
Sometimes if I'm picking up some older figures on the bay to fill some gaps in my collection I do need to go back and check what I have.
Recently I picked up a Basic Series 3 Shelton Benjamin, I knew I had a Shelton figure and really couldn't remember if it was B3 or the WM26 figure I had so had to go and check first before buying.
*Edit* Really wish we'd have gotten a Shelton Benjamin elite

Loved Shelton Benjamin. "The Gold Standard". They should do an Elite 3-pack, Team Angle. 3 (preferably fabric) hoodies, medals, and Tag Titles.

I go off memory as I keep up with what's out - however, I have in the past gone through my collection and forget I had a certain figure. Might take up the idea of making a list though.

That sounds like a process I just use my eyes and brain Was thinking the same thing. Unless you buy figures and store them away I don't see or understand the need to get an app to keep track when they're in plain sight. Or you have a bad case of the "Toy Story"

I have to use a spreadsheet to keep track of my dvd/blu-ray collection (have close to 20,000...don't judge, I used own a chain of video stores!), and my comic book collection (don't even want to count how many I have...)...but I've never needed a list to track my figures. I've just always known exactly what I have and what I still want to get. One room is for dead lines I no longer collect, 2 rooms for the current lines, 1 room for wrestling figures, and 1 room for Freddy Krueger memorabilia (though that room doesn't get many additions anymore).

I have 103 figures in my collection of WWE Mattel. I have reviewed them all from # 51 onward, so those are easy enough to keep track of for me. The first 50 all have photos in a blog post as well, except for two of them- Trent? and Curt Hawkins- as I realized the other day that I needed to update it.

I just know. More so because I get things as soon as they come out or hit retail. I may not know what series a certain figure is or was in but if I see it I'll know if I have jt

Back in the Jakks days I would use MS Excel to keep track of figures. I would write down; when I bought figure, where I bought the figure, how much I paid for the figure, and when I opened the figure.
I stopped keeping track when Jakks stopped making figures. At first I didnt buy Mattels so I never kept track like I used to. These days I just buy what I like, even if I already have 2,3, or 4 already at the house. My wife says it's like I have a fever and the only prescription is more cowbell, er I mean spending money.

When you are in your 30's,, and are well into thousands of figs, tell me then you don't need to write everything down.....

I was honestly going to come here and make a smart ass comment -- then I realized last night that I had a Big E figure at one point. Now I don't, and have no idea where he vanished too.
So -- I guess I don't keep track?

I'm 39, and crossed the thousands mark quite a number of years ago...and can still tell you from memory what figure is on every shelf in every room of my house. Not trying to be a smartass or a jerk. I admit that I have a serious figure addiction. But for some reason, I can always remember them all.

I only collect certain guys, really isn't that hard for me to remember. I can see why you would need a pic or some system if you have a large collection though. Especially if you also sell and collect. That might be hard to track.
