Noticed that a bunch of DM Surfer Sting's are up on ebay, and another boardie on here (forget who - sorry!) saying they're already available in the UK,got me to thinking... Will we have to wait til June to get him here in the States? Seems we would get it much sooner, considering it's already been out.... Then,I thought of the OTHER question - will RSC get screwed again on a DM release?! Since they have it listed for Early-June...
For those not in the know, ever since the relaunch of the DM line, it seems, without fail ,that the figures are found at retail the same time as RSC gets them in, or,in quite a few cases, were found at retail BEFORE RSC got their shipments in from Mattel, making the point of ordering them here to get them early moot...I can't help but get the feeling the trend is going to continue with Sting.

Waiting for the updated version with laceless boots so it doesn't really matter for me anyway

For the 1st version (WM Axess version) I'd expect to see it very soon honestly. I'm waiting on the right boots version anyway, I have no problem waiting til July/August if it means correct boots and torso.

I doubt they'll do a complete torso change in this short of a time frame.

Yea seems weird they getting them later. I want the second run with the correct boots so I'm waiting for retail unless rs offers ones with the correct boot.

With it showing up at Wrestlemania, I'd be very surprised if it didn't pop-up at retail prior to RSC.
Even though I have no plans to buy the figure (don't think it's a good figure), I kind of dig when retail beats RSC as I feel they unnecessarily mark up their items.
Just an opinion.

I have a feeling that DM Sting is going to warm hard.

I am expecting RSC first shipment to be from the corrected boots running change, because they had it at Axxess and now in the UK and seeing RSC gets their first shipment sent overnight I would expect that to be out of the next production run.

I don't see why this DM would be any different than the others. Unless the boot change causes a small delay to retail.
One thing I do wonder about is, what will be the plan for Elite surfer Sting going forward. Assuming there are already Elite surfer Stings in the pipeline, Network Spotlight, HOF, Flashback or other store Exclusive, what parts will it have? Will they be repaints of the DM or will Mattel hurry up and change the parts due to the backlash. Even if Mattel has the time to change the torso on an upcoming figure, will they?

I'd assume RSC's shipment will remain the same
However...
I strongly think these will hit retail late April/early May

But I don't think ringside overnights DM's from the factory. Maybe they order in smaller quantities due to the premium price, so they just do standard shipping on those specifically. Which would explain why retail has them earlier every time

Could Ringside please list them as with laces and without laces? That would certainly help collectors out.

I remember the delay for flair caused me not to order hogan from them and those who did order from them had hogan before Christmas and I got mine finally in late Jan.

Here's hoping we don't get repaints. New torso (Bulldog) New head New legs (road warrior animal) New boots Both hands with finger tape.

No way do I want to see Animal's legs used for Sting. Sting had thick legs but not that thick. Not only that the Animal legs are trunks legs molded in black to look like tights. And are to cut up. Hawk's legs would be thick enough and are actually tights molds.
For Surfer Sting I woould go... DM head - I have no issues with that head except for how the teeth/mouth were painted. Austin torso. E30 Hawk or DM Steamboat/e19 Ziggler arms. Legends 1/E30 Hawk waist - knees. E17 Lawler calves and boots. DM Sting foot.

People have this figure in hand. The pics of the actual figure (not proto pics at bad angles) are pretty underwhelming. That said I'll still get two of the 'corrected' boots ones. One MOC and one for loose. But definitely displaying with the jacket on!
