Bob Backlund appeared on Smackdown last night and will be Darren Young's life coach. Hopefully Mattel starts working on a figure right away. So what is the first figure you'd want to see him in? Dress shirt, bow tie, suspenders. Mid 90s ring attire, towel, and winged eagle belt. Classic late 70s-early 80s ring attire with classic WWWF belt.

When I was 7 years old Bob Backlund wouldn't give me his autograph unless I could tell him the 37th President of the United States, neither I nor any of the adults around knew, therefore I did not get his autograph.

When I was 7 years old Bob Backlund wouldn't give me his autograph unless I could tell him the 37th President of the United States, neither I nor any of the adults around knew, therefore I did not get his autograph. Nixon?? (I had to count backwards from #44, Obama.) Backlund was playing a weird cookie, then. He's old school, though, and likely didn't want to break character. The character he was playing was a nut who wanted to "restore integrity to America" (similar to what Nixon, W., and Trump have said) but this character was obviously before W. and Trump. Maybe's that's why he asked that. It's kind of sad that none of the adults knew the answer to that basic civics question when most of them were alive when Nixon was around. But anyway, he asked you that because he didn't want to break character. Don't blame him.  |

Some combos I can think of; Diesel/Backlund, Bret/Backlund, WM9 Razor/Backlund, Sheik/Backlund, and if he gets a standalone Elite, I would hope for WM9 with his America jacket. I'm not too familiar with his earlier stuff, I would have to imagine he crossed paths with Funk or Lawler at some point as well.

He won the title off Superstar Billy Graham and feuded with him after, he teamed and then feuded with Peter Maivia, lost and regained the title to Antonio Inoki (unrecognized by WWE), was WWF tag champ with Pedro Morales. |

A lot of people on web forums could do with one... Generally, however they dress it up, they help you make goals and targets, and then increase your motivation and consistency in performance. Mostly by training you to make good habits and eliminate bad ones. I am currently training myself to get up earlier (A life long issue), play no video games, and read more (audio books :-)). I can read techniques for that, but then I've had performance coaching, and cognitive behavioural therapy, so I am tooled to train myself. |
