WWE. Take 5 steps forward, 9 steps back. This is going be just like the tail end of the brand split last time, except even worst. Everything is fine the way it is, Why it up? WWE is losing me. Basically whats going to happen: Raw: - Make Roman Reigns look strong - Bunch of half assed 50/50 booking for everyone else Smackdown: - Make Cena look strong - Bunch of half assed 50/50 booking for everyone else. They are taking what most of us hate most about the current product and shoving it down our throats TWICE in a week now. You judge things way too early.

As much as following the previous format of one brand holding a ppv/special event every other month would be best, more easily manageable, and less chance of overkill, just easier to handle on everyone involved - with today's current situation I don't think that would be as feasible...
1. I don't think the WWE or the audience has the attention span to stick with a feud and let it build/develop over 2 months. 2. I don't think WWE creative/writers have the creative ability to have a feud stretch out over months and keep it meaningful, fun, worth continuing to watch, exciting, etc...
But at the same time, each brand having a ppv/special every month would be complete overkill and make the product harder to watch than it already is. The only way this would work is if they are able, and VERY able, to make each brand different and accessible in a way that that one would not have to watch all of them to make sense of the the WWE.

I really really don't understand why we can't go back to the old days of taking it in turns each month. It worked so so well.

Seems like they're looking for ways to jackup the Network price, and create more "PPV" money on live events.

WWE needs FEWER PPV's, not more! This is a big mistake. Just totally oversaturating the product. If anything it should have gone to the brands alternating by month.

I'm really not looking forward to the draft.

If there's any truth to this, there goes another potential positive from the split - cutting back on the significant overexposure of talent.
Seriously, the more information we learn, the more all of my fears and suspicions are confirmed.

If WWE was smart they'd have Raw and Smack Down! alternate PPVs every month instead.

If it's all part of the 9.99 we pay per month, then I say the more original content the better. Nobody is forcing me to watch each show, so I say bring it on. Oh no, just wait..2 PPVs instead of 1 just gives them a reason to hike the Network price up. Even if they up the price to 15 bucks, I still think that's a steal. Far better than when they use to charge 45 dollars for the brand split PPV the first time around.

The problem is that the product is not interesting enough to warrant that much time. I don't care if people are subscribed to the network or not. But its clear that Vince wants every wrestling fan to give him $9.99 a month. And he wants to nix TV entirely. Vince wants to run his own Network, it's clear. He wants to be in charge of everything. He's setting everything up for the end of their current TV deal when they will announce RAW & Smackdown are going to the Network and if you want to watch wrestling you're paying Vince and Vince only.
It could be brilliant...because I know that if RAW & Smackdown were on the Network I'd have no problems paying $10 a month just for them so I could cut my cable bill down.
The PPVs are a moot point. It's technically still gonna be 4 weeks in between each brand's show. They better get their creative heads in gear and hire people who know how to make good wrestling. Or else nobody is gonna care
Face it, the days of ratings & ppv buys are slowly fading away. It's all about content now.

Just read a good point from scott keith.....if they are doing 2 PPVs a month, they should cut them to 2 hours there really isnt a need for a 3 hour PPV anymore. Not with a $9.99 a month product.
Have 2 hours of wrestling, with a 30 minute pre-show where you can feature talent that isn't regularly used in a match + build up to the coming show.
And apparently it's only 2 a month NOT including the months we get Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam & Survivor Series. So maybe then you have those "Big 4" be 4 hour shows.

Eh, I'll just pick the brand I like and stick with it. No one's forcing me to watch 9+ hours of wrestling a week.

I think if they weren't just having joint PPV's, I'd rather they have brand only shows, like they did in 2004. Use the extra month to properly build storyline & culminate at the PPV. It'd also make TV matches more important

Are people actually cool with this? I have said it before, but I sure as hell seem to remember the brand split a hell of a lot different to the people who think it coming back is the greatest thing ever. I already am burned out by the amount of WWE there is, not to mention they can barely come up with enough compelling story lines for one monthly PPV. Now they are adding another!
They do not have enough characters that are interesting to make two totally separate shows work. I hate to be negative, but the WWE the last decade have done nothing to show that they can make this work. Plus if you include NXT that is three different brands that the WWE expect people to watch it is just crazy.

Lol that isn't happening. If you had to join the WWE network to watch Raw and SmackDown, it would mean not gaining any new fans. Wrestling is very dependent on having an outlet to hook people for free -- and in WWE's case in particular, the large amount of money they get from the USA Network is pretty much all that keeps them profitable. Without that money, they're screwed.
