As a non-hockey fan I really appreciate these descriptive posts that tell me who the bleep you're talking about. Makes me feel like I know everything that's going on in the NHL.  Well that's one way to open a season. |

The Hawks firing Q is mind numbing. Stan is the problem and everyone knows it. I really hope the best for Q. Even if he ends up in Detroit or St Louis that guy deserves all the credit in the world and I expect to see him keep winning. Stan Bowman needed fired two years ago and now he's making an even bigger mess. He doesn't know how to draft defensemen and signed Seabrook to an 8 year deal at 30. I won't even get into all of the cap moves he's made, and specifically the trades that don't make any sense, like giving away Johns for free.
I'd be lying if I said this was a total shock, though. Q has actively hated Stan's guts and it has only gotten worse since Hjalmarsson was moved. The current team is only built for one end of the ice. Saad and Toews are the only true two-way players and they have no identity on the back end outside of Keith, who is already 35. The run is over and that's just the hard reality. I've been talking about it since about mid way through 2016. It's hard to watch when they still have a formidable top 6 but they have no line depth or back end.

I feel like for every soft goal Jake Allen allows the coverage is going to shift to tracking Joel Quenneville traveling in a cab from Chicago to St. Louis.

Watched the Caps beat the Pens.
Sadly watching Avs getting beaten by Preds right now...

Well I see Tom Wilson got his suspension reduced and returned last night for the Caps. He had a strong game- a goal with goalie interference after the goal was scored and a fight as well.  |

Well Chicago, St. Louis, LA Kings, and Edmonton all fired their coaches so far this season.
Avalanche look strong. Best line in hockey right now is 92-29-96 for Colorado. MacKinnon for MVP!

Florida hired Quenneville fast. Plus looks like the leading name for Seattle team is the Sockeyes! I'm sure plenty of fans there will smuggle in them and throw them on the ice when they score.. |

Also Avs were robbed of the number 1 pick in draft from the pick we stole in Duchene deal.
