This is gonna be a weird show. They're essentially going to have to put together a card independent of the brand split, which will have already happened by the time this show goes down. There's also a lot of pending matches (Shield Triple Threat, Charlotte/Sasha) that should be saved for Summerslam, and they'll need to find away to get around booking them for Battleground.

I feel like we will get the Shield Triple Threat here. After this PPV, the brand split will be in full effect, so no telling if that match would even be a possibility.

You're probably right, but that seems really, really wasteful to me. The Shield Triple Threat has been regarded as a Wrestlemania main event for two years now, Summerslam at the absolute least. Blowing it off on a historically phoned in B-Show like Battleground seems like a really poor idea that shows a total lack of discipline.

I feel you, but the WWE hasn't really been "saving" many big matches for SummerSlam or Mania. They gave us Reigns/Rollins and Styles/Cena and it wasn't at one of the big four. Same goes for Rollins/Lesnar, Reigns/Bryan or even Cena/Owens was blown off on three lesser PPVs.

At this point it seems relatively safe to say it's more important than Survivor Series. But, regardless, I get what you're saying. The problem I have is that there doesn't seem to be a bigger match on the horizon. If you blow off the Shield Triple Threat at Battleground, where do you go for Summerslam? The only two options seem like Lesnar/Reigns or Reigns/Cena, and at this point, that would be a really, really detrimental retread after seemingly moving on from Roman last night. And if Lesnar gets knocked out at 200, well, that one is (likely) off the table.

The 3 guys really deserve to main event Summerslam in Brooklyn. If WWE can get creative, they can build up to it for 2 months, making it even bigger.

Nattie V Becky, Cesaro v Jericho, KO vs Sami, Roman vs Dean with Seth Guest Ref, New Day vs Enzo and Cass, Corbin vs Apollo, Ziggler v Titus, Sheamus v Rusev there ya go 8 matches they could fill the card with. Pre show Breeze vs Truth and Lucha Dragons vs Dudleys Table match if not just Kalisto vs Bubba Ray

I hope they either do Ambrose/Reigns or Ambrose/Rollins here. Don't do the triple threat. Ambrose/Reigns could set up the triple threat by having Rollins cause a no contest.

They need to do Rollins vs Reigns in a #1 Contender Match.
Then have a screwy finish or something where neither win and they both are put into the match against Dean at SummerSlam.
Shield Triple Threat boys.

Welp that is such a ing dumb move. The Shield Triple Threat Match only deserves to be on a WrestleMania or SummerSlam.

To go or not to go. Tickets r expensive for a decent seat but right down the road and never been to a ppv before.

Well I guess it's just Seth vs Dean.

I wonder if that's not due to a lack of planning, but rather an attempt to make all the PPVs feel relevant again and not just glorified placeholders in between the Big Four. For many years now, we've all been conditioned to know that the PPVs outside of the Big Four have nothing important happening in them as they're largely just filler. I think it'd be a good thing if they're transitioning to major matches occurring at any PPV now.

I would have not done this show and just built up the draft shows, and booked everything for this show, for summerslam. Regardless, I look forward to the triple threat and how they handle this situation with Reigns.

Regardless, I look forward to the triple threat and how they handle this situation with Reigns. Agreed. It would have been smart to nix this show and instead build up good feuds on both Raw and Smackdown, post-draft, and lead into a big Summerslam. Of course, it's a GOOD idea...so that's why it wasn't done.

Curious what they do regarding Reigns. He'll be back by then but if they throw him in the match again anyways the place might just riot.

We finally get the Shield triple threat and people STILL moan about the most trivial things? What does the date actually matter?
