Heyo, everyone! I was curious if anyone would want to see some drawings I've done that are wrestling-related. They're a little odd as they represent my joking take on a trend in Japanese pop culture of late; specifically I speak of the tendency to turn anything and everything into an anthropomorphised cute (usually human and female) mascot character. This has been done for prefectures, cities, the Self Defense Forces and Imperial Japanese Navy warships for whatever reason. I figured the one thing they wouldn't do is do the same thing with wrestling gimmicks, so as I joke I drew some concept art for 'Rule 63' versions of various wrestling gimmicks. Is this something anyone would care to see?

Ok! So I'll give a short bio of what the Rule 63/'Cutesy-Anime-Girl-For-No-Reason' version of each gimmick/character would be like in this insanity I call 'Shoujo Championship Wrestling'. First up, the face that runs the place, Jun Shima (John Cena). Within the imagined anime/manga she'd be the golden girl of The Establishment, even though she's actually a decent person and is especially beloved by the younger students at whatever school it takes place in. You know, since every manga/anime takes place in a school. Whatever. She's unpopular with older students and the more hardcore fans because she wins all the time, has a bland character that hasn't changed and.. well, you know what she's John Cena in this universe. She ended up pretty similar fashion to her real life counterpart, apart from the ponytail; since it's perky and sporty it seemed fitting for her 'gosh, gee willikers' positive attitude. There's also the Student Council President, "Honcho" Hitomi Hasegawa (Triple H). Given the style and setting I went with more of a Hunter Hearst Helmsley look than The Game for this one. The aristocratic, snobbish student body leader and chief representative of The Establishment who unlike Jun Shima is not ostensibly a Face. She believes that she knows what's best for the student body and for the wrestling that for some reason is the main theme of the setting. Due to this conviction she does whatever she has to in order to make things happen the way that she wants them to. In her backstory is that she was once a Face and was very close to a very popular main eventer before betraying the girl to fall in with the school Chancellor's daughter. Last one I'll share in this post is one of the leaders of a rebellious faction that's become popular due to their opposition to the status quo. Kind of like being the smark faction. Anyway, she's Yori "Punk" Ban (CM Punk) - a loudmouthed rebel incarnate who proclaims herself Best in the School and has a personal beef with Jun Shima. At first she was alone in her resistance to The Establishment, but she's since been able to recruit other disenfranchised sorts to her side. For this design I ended up using the entrance hoodie as a basis, since it seemed to fit the style a little bit better than just a t-shirt would. There are a number of other concept drawings for in universe versions of gimmicks/characters from various eras of wrestling. It's not just limited to WWE, either, as a prominent WCW star is one of the 'main characters'. Yeah, I put way to much thought into this.. anyway, let me know what you think! Do you want to see the concepts for Rule 63 Daniel Bryan, Bret Hart, The Rock, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Randy Savage, Shockmaster.. or Sting?
