Absolutely combine eras. All my Mattel figures r in my fed. Still haven't decided if I am going to use multiple characters that r the same wrestler or not, i.e. nash/diesel, hall/razor, xpac/123 kid, papa shango/godfather. Did just solve the epic and primo/Los matador problem as I gave the elite matadors primo and epicos heads and arms. I have Primo/Epico & The Los Matadores as well but I have them both as separate tag teams in the fed at the same time. Figure since they have different names and completely different attires with masks why not? It's my story I'll write it how I want lol

I combine eras and use the flashbacks as I like to remember them. 1991 Hogan, Macho King, 1992 Bulldog, 1997 Hitman. And then to contradict myself I have Hitman and Bulldog as a heel Hart Foundation, of course.

I don't personally because when I have fig matches I try to immerse myself in the feel of that era by watching videos and interviews from that era. I even go as nuanced as changing the work pace and style for different eras. It feels more natural to have it match for me

My sons loose collection includes wwf/wcw wrestlers from 1985-2000. He just has them all royal rumble every time he plays. That was about my attention span when I played with my old jakks. Royal rumble every time. Undertaker always won. Though i did light a raven figure on fire once for a "hardcore match". My parents didnt buy me much after that.

I don't play with figures but I thought about this recently. I didn't have a problem mixing eras up until I started categorizing figures into factions etc. Now it seems wierd to have Starrcade Sting next to Seth Rollins and Neville.

Hogan's leg drop is still a game ender and if Warrior kicks out, it's the most shocking thing in the world. But Daniel Bryan will do running corner dropkicks on Evolution all day.

Yep, I must certainly do. The reason being, and I probably have way too much time on my hands, is my fed is an alternate universe. It's a completely different, Triple H led successor to WWE. I did this to bend the rules a bit. In the past, I used to like to mirror WWE TV, but that got old quick. Having my own self-contained universe of rules is much more satisfying.
Some wrestlers from older eras are still dead here -- like Guerrero, Owen Hart, etc., but some aren't. I plan on using Macho Man as manager for a heel Jay Lethal in my crusierweight division and Warrior I plan on using in some fashion with Ryback at some point. I had to keep some of them dead or I'd have a roster even more bloated than I plan lol.
Some wrestlers who retired early such as Edge or Daniel Bryan I still consider active. Rated RKO & The Shield is a Wrestlemania match I have planned for the tag belts. I also have plans for a Paige/Lita feud because I think that'd be hella fun. Gail Kim/AJ Lee is what I have penciled in for Summerslam, too. It's fun to combine eras to make matches you'll never see in WWE. It's even more fun to book full angles around them.
John Cena vs Hulk Hogan (modern head on a DM body) is something I'm looking forward to writing and playing. Mostly because I'm running with Cena being a heel, like Hollywood Hogan.
Hell, I still plan on using Ric Flair -- but I need a modern headscan, Mattel lol.

Currently I round the era's up, my Walgreens HBK & Umaga are examples that blend into my current era roster, there hasn't been enough figures released to complete a RA era collection, I do feel weird sometimes including wrestlers that passed away years ago, but it works out.

It really depends, but in recent years I don't combine eras anymore.

Absolutely! Admittedly, I haven't been paying much attention to my fed as of late but one of the possible storylines I had in mind was an IC Title tournament as an excuse to have Bryan and Punk have matches with Steamboat and Savage.
