Popularity wise, Rollins and Ambrose are quite untouchable at the moment. I want to see them both reach a whole other level and be taken 100% seriously though.


I think Finn Balor has loads of potential and could really be the next guy to have sort of an Orton spot or something like that. His build is insane and his in ring work is quite good, I could see him doing the demon character on RAW as a heel or face and still becoming massively over.

As much as I want it to happen, I don't know where Owens and Sami will be in the next few years. Just, I definitely have a feeling that by the way things are looking right now considering how over they are- the in ring abilities and unique personalities, as well as the story telling skills they possess will make them definitely top people in the company for the future.

It's so blatantly obvious that it should be Seth Rollins. I honestly don't even see how someone could argue against him being the next face of the company.

Even if you're not a fan of his, looking at the situation objectively, there is no one with more qualifications to be the guy you build the brand around going forward. He's tremendous in the ring, great on the microphone, has the utmost respect of the fans, and demonstrates total commitment to the craft from every measurable aspect of the business. He has the modern look of a top-tier athlete (not the over-inflated muscle body that Vince McMahon should have been over a decade or more ago), the charisma and likeability to go on talk shows and market himself in a professional manner without coming off disinterested and/or lethargic. He eats, sleeps, and breathes pro wrestling. He is the embodiment of what a top tier professional wrestler is in 2016.

Seth is the only guy who doesn't have a "but..."

Roman Reigns has the look and the big match ability, but he's been in the role and he's been a monumental failure.
AJ Styles is one of the best wrestlers in the world and is cutting the best promos of his career, but he's barely younger than John Cena. You can't build the company around him.
Dean Ambrose has the support of the fans and has become a breakout star, but his disheveled appearance, zany character, and oddball personality make it immensely challenging to build around him.
Samoa Joe is an incredible talent, but will never be anything more than a role-player heel if he makes it to the main roster. He's aging quickly and has a lot of mileage on his body.
Finn Balor is an absolute star waiting to happen, but he's about to be 35, and Vince McMahon will never build his company around a guy who can't even be billed at 200 pounds
Shinsuke Nakamura is perhaps the most captivating wrestler on the planet, but he's already 36, foreign, with limited promo ability and an uphill battle to make Vince McMahon take him seriously

I could go on, but the point is clear.

At some point, Vince is going to have to face the music and pull the plug, or accept the ever-mounting downward trend the product is on. If Roman is the future, then the future isn't so bright from a company standpoint. If Roman Reigns, in his current state, is the final impression Vince makes on his own legacy, he's going to be remembered as the stubborn old man who completely lost sight of how to run his own company. One would hope, at some point, that he'd figure that out before it's too late. But, perhaps he won't.

I highly doubt Rollins would bring in more of an audience in 'the' spot than he is in the spot he's in.

The company is slowly going in the crapper regardless. As soon as they can't play on the nostalgia of Undertaker, Lesnar, Cena anymore they are royally ed, and I'm guessing they'll have to downscale considerably.

He probably won't raise business dramatically, but, then again, no one can say for sure until he's put in a position to potentially do so. We know Roman doesn't elevate business, in fact, he hurts it. So, all things being equal, at least go with the guy who has all the tools and the support of the audience.

But yeah, this all goes back to WWE's inability to create new stars since John Cena and their tired reliance on legacy acts to carry their asses. The two closest things they had - CM Punk and Daniel Bryan - were largely squandered and/or placed in the role of supporting cast when they were available, and even those guys weren't needle movers (though they were great for merch, especially Punk) , they were at least good for fan morale.
