So, I recently got back into the figure collecting game, but this is my first time collecting wrestling figures (as an adult). I've decided to recreate my collection I had as a kid, as closely as possible, with a few exceptions. Meaning, if there are 10 versions of Macho Man, I want the best figure of that 10 not necessarily the one that would match my childhood figure. Which brings me to my question/discussion point.
The two HBKs on the market right now are really solid figs (DX and Network Spotlight). Which one is worthwhile? I really just want one of each wrestler if possible (because monies).
Question B, which John Cena Elite is the definitive elite? Not one I collected as a kid, but I am also creating a collection for my son.
Or what is the definitive version of anyone in your opinion? I'm just starting the Elite journey and would love to hear any and all opinions!

It's all really a matter of opinion and what you like. I personally LOVE the network HBK and have wanted that figure for years so that would be top of my list. Someone younger than me might remember his DX run and like the Walgreen's one more. Just what you like.

HBK - I would wait until the upcoming re-release of the E19 figure over the Network Spotlight and Walgreens one
Cena - it really depends on what attire you prefer (...he's not really had a "definitive" attire). I'd probably go with the Elite 17 figure - camo shorts and "Rise Above Hate" shirt

For Shawn michaels I would go for the network spotlight figure if your looking for an affordable one that you can still find at retail. In general I would definitely go with the wrestlemania 14 elite. Great scan, awesome attire and also comes with entrance gear. Also it depicts arguably the start of the attitude era. Elite 19 is alright but the lack of chest hair looks empty and the scan is alright, not the best. Hopefully the re release will come with the chest hair detail.

In my opinion,...the rse hbk is the definitive version.

I think a lot of people would vote Cenas elite 17 as his best figure. I really like his elite 40 too.
HBK would be tough as its really up to what era would you prefer? My favorite HBK is WM 14. But I love elite 19 and his network figure too.
Same with Macho Man do you want a trunks version or him in tights? If the latter go for the HOF target one that can probably still be found.

E17 Cena is the definitive. E17 is the only one I have and it's great. New dm is definitive though imo

It's funny, I was just about to post something about the "definitive HBK." I don't think Mattel has completely knocked an HBK out of the park yet as far as a definitive look goes. My personal favorites are probably RSC and E19, but I think we're still waiting on the best they can do with him.
For Macho, Legends 4 and DM are absolute musts. He's got two definitive versions, maybe the only guy with truly two.
Any elite Cena will do the job, depends on which you like the best.

Theyve been out since Dec of last year. You havnt seen them? I haven't. Wow. It took us awhile to see them in KC, February at the latest though. Heenan family was more like March I think. HoF 4 shouldve been out by now, but I remember Bill saying the lineup wasnt final. Maybe someones contract fell out.

Lol cue the part I said probably. I bought my HOF Macho back in late January. Since then I've seen him quite a few times. Now Jimmy and Ted are another story I hardly ever see them if at all...If I do see them someone has them in their hands already.

Still be found? I don't think a lot of targets even got them in yet Theyve been out since Dec of last year. You havnt seen them? I have seen them once at one target and I picked them up thanks to the tracker and found I think it was a handful of Macho Mans once. That's about it though. My targets are still stuck with Titos
