Top 3 All Time (IN MY OPINION, Can't stress this enough) 1. LeBron James, I know I know calm your tits, put down the pitch forks and hold off on lighting the fire. I know I'm in the minority and not only that but also I'm biased being from Cleveland. But in my opinion the best PLAYER of all time, taking away accolades, rings and records. In MY OPINION LeBron is the greatest player ever to lace up a pair of sneakers based on the way he plays. He is an all around player, there is no area where he is weak in his game. 2. Michael Jordan, He is the GOAT when you factor in rings and records but when it comes to overall play I just feel like LBJ is the better all around player. 3. Kobe Bryant, Best scorer of all time, the only guy comparable to his machine like way of scoring is A.I. other than that nobody could reproduce Kobe Bryant.

I have to say Jordan. Never one of my favorites, but that's because I'm a loyal Spurs fan. :-)

people often forget how great a 1 on 1 defender Kobe was so great When he wanted to be... Shame he basically turned that switch off for the last 6 or 7 years of his career (during which time he definitely has the capability... Loved watching him defend for Team USA) Its Jordan hands down. The only name you can put in the argument with Jordan is Magic Not sure how you figure that, considering how miserable Magic was on defense... Like, he's among the handful of the worst defensive players I've ever seen... Big reason why Bird isn't higher for me than he is for a lot of other people.

Impossible to say.Different eras different rules Super teams different parts of the games where hightlight more than others in different eras. Accomplishments mean different things and could be misleading. Just my 2cents

Allen Iverson is one of my all time favorites, but he is nowhere close to being the best NBA player ever. Its Michael Jordan. He wouldve won almost every single NBA championship in the 90s if he didnt retire twice that decade.

Has anybody proved they are better than Jordan? I don't think so Post Jordan era there are only to names that come close Kobe LeBron In that order LeBron is has been my favorite player since 03 and the cavs were my family's team before I was even born but he isn't better then Kobe and I hate the Lakers It's really isnt even fair to put LeBron in the discussion until he retires and we see what his legacy ends up being Spot on.

Michael Jordan, definitely. I also reckon Larry Bird is right up there.

1) Michael Jordan - The GOAT, plain and simple. There was nothing he couldn't do and didn't miss a step after coming back from his first retirement.
2) Magic Johnson - He was Lebron before Lebron. Magic could do everything (even playing center in a finals game) who's career was sadly cut too short.
3) Hakeem Olajuwon - The most athletic center I've ever seen. The guy could move like a guard or play big, whatever was needed of him. He consistently made Shaq and Robinson (two all time greats) look inferior during the 90s.

Lebron has also been unquestionably the star on all of his finals teams, while Kobe was only the best player on 2 of his 5 championship teams (and even then you can argue Gasol was just as good as Kobe at the time). Kobe is a great but is definatly overrated in the post-Jordan era where the NBA was desperate to find the next Michael.

Michael Jordan hands down.
Also, why no love for Bill Russell? He was a solids 20/20 guy on a team full of stars. He could have put up Wilt numbers but he didn't need to. And if championships mean anything to you, he is the real king of rings.
