With the recent prototype pictures of the WWE Legends figures, I was thinking of which ones I want. And I realized I don't really know much about Magnum TA. So before the figures come out, I wanna utilize the network and dvds to watch some of his stuff. So I was wondering if you guys have any matches of his that you guys would recommend.

Magnum and Tully Blanchard had a pretty fun Steel Cage I Quit match for the US belt in 85 I think. Check it out. Crowd went nuts for Mag.

There are only 2 matches that sum up Magnum's career.
Starrcade 85 "I Quit" cage match for the US Title.
Best of 7 Series match 7 with Nikita Koloff for the US Title.
If you have the US Title DVD/Blu Ray that came out a few months ago by the WWE, you can see both matches on there.
If Magnum hadn't driven his car into that hydro pole and destroy his car and himself, he would have probably went on to become a World Champion or maybe even a member of the Horsemen.
I do know after Magnum hurt himself they brought in Barry Windham as his replacement. That's why the Magnum/Ronnie Garvin team became the Barry Windham/Ronnie Garvin team.

He was super over. Starcade 85. Great match.

Because of the career ending accident he only wrestled for 5-6 years and his feuds with Tully and Nikita were probably his defining moments in his wrestling career. The I Quit cage match vs Tully was probably the greatest I quit match ever and easily one of my top 3 cage matches of all time. And his feud with Nikita was fantastic as well.

Thanks guys. He was pretty much gone before I started watching wrestling and although I've heard of him I just realized that I don't think I've ever watched him wrestle. I don't have the US Title DVD but I've got the Starrcade DVD and Cage Match DVD, will check on those after work today.

His Mid-South work was pretty good, too.

He had a lot of very good matches, but you won't really find them on the Network. You'll have to dig around on Youtube, and the internet. His feud with Tully Blanchard is one of my favorite ever.

If you go to the search bar on the Network and type in Magnum TA, 8 pages of matches comes up. Matches against Tully, Barbarian, Ole, Midnight Express, & a pile of jobbers.

Yeah but aside from Blanchard they aren't the best. The Ole match is ok but if I recall ends up being a run in. He had some good matches with Flair, Arn, and others. I don't know why the Nikita matches aren't on there. Or the Crockett cup match against the Road Warriors.

But as others have said, Magnum T.A. is one of the biggest What Ifs in wrestling history.
The guy was super over, and was on a rocket to the top. And he was really getting good in the ring and better at promos. Supposedly after wrapping up his feud with Nikita the World Title wasn't far off.
Would Flair have had as many title runs? Would Garvin had won the title? How would Magnum being a top guy effect Sting's rise to the top? Would Vince have tried to buy him out and how would that have impacted the WWF at the time? Would Steamboat have gotten his push in the NWA?

Thanks again guys for the suggestions and the info. I just finished the I Quit Cage Match with Tully, it was good. I'm gonna look through my other DVDs and see what else I have.

I believe the Magnum vs. Nikita match 7 match is on the WWE Network. I think its on one of the WCW Saturday Night shows that is on the Network, cause I remember seeing it not too long ago and then seeing it again when I watched the US Title DVD.
