What is happening to Mattel?
From what I can see...
- We are getting re-releases which means they are not doing any new scans, and even then the re-releases are not being corrected (eg. chest hair on Legends HBK, yellow IC strap for Legends Warrior). INSTEAD of re-releasing past exclusives or super rare figs (like Vince, Diesel, Cactus Jack etc).
- Some figures are tending to be of lesser quality, lots of smudges on bodies and skin being painted on instead of being used as a base colour. Not to mention those female head scans....
- Scale is starting to show mistakes (eg. IRS height, KO and Anvil's orangutan arms).
- Exclusives are almost always Cenas, Triple H's, HBK's (or crapty re-relases like the Game Stop Lesnar with a very bad head scan) I feel like they just don't care except for the golden boys mentioned above.. (like Hogan and co were looked after excessively)
It reminds me of WCW.... when it started sinking... people in staff just don't care... you telling me that these professionals cannot see these details? or that they are not listening to their customer feedback? or even assessing their products?
WHAT IS HAPPENING MATTEL?
Maybe it's something to do with the new JAKKS deal??? maybe Elites and Basics are on their way out and we will get re-releases until 2019!!!
I'm not angry just aware!
Does anybody else think that they are becoming slack? #YourThoughts

For every one bad figure, scan, or paint detail Mattel does on a figure, we end up with 10 great figures with good scans and good paint detail.
So I will take the few bad for all the great figures we do get.

Mattels WWE is still amazing. I've never been more into collecting them or bought as many figures as I have this year alone. When I look at my shelf and see the amazing figures Up there , and remember the days where my Rey Mysterio stood nose to nose with my Undertaker , I become happy knowing that my money hasn't gone to waste.

This is nonsense. There have been a few mis-steps, but the overwhelming majority of the product we get from Mattel is quite good.

I think it's more because of budget cuts in the company. & stead of raising prices they are trying to cut corners the best they can and it's just not working. For every new scan they have to pay I forget how much. So they try to stretch everything now instead of raising prices again. Of elites and basics.

There are incredible action figures in this world with unbelievable detail and QC. You know how much they cost? On the low end, as much as ten Mattel elites, and usually much more.
Yes, some figures from Mattel are subpar. But many are excellent and most are good, and for a company that churns out as many new products as Mattel does in any given year, having even a few really excellent ones and a small percentage of duds is a damn fine accomplishment.
$20 is a steal for the really good Mattel elites, not to mention when they're on sale. Shut up and enjoy the toys.

Some of the things you mention are legitimate concerns, but you lose me when you say Mattel doesn't care. I don't believe that. And I suspect this thread is less about you wanting to spark a conversation, and more about you needing to vent your frustrations. That's what cats are for.

Hasn't quite gone that south yet. But hopefully they hear our concerns and take them into consideration be4 that happens.

I don't want to step on anyone toes. I'm not trying to get anyone mad. But cmon, the quality of the figures isn't bad. So there are a few MINOR paint mishaps. This happens with mass produced toys. Not all figures have smudges, paint drops ect. I see a lot of people on here really really nitpicking. Yes we are all collectors. Yes we want our toys to look right. Yes we spend a lot of money. But Mattel doesn't ask us to spend our money on ther products. Don't like that your figure has paint problems? Don't buy it! I could care less.
Today I bought my first Finn figure. Everyone knows I love me some Finn lol. But his right eye is milky. It's clearly different from the left eye. But I don't care. It's still a cool figure. It could be worse. I'm not bothered because I'll display Finn, sometimes play with him (I'd rather play with the real Finn but that's another story), it's not like I'm gonna constantly look at that eye and be like "darn Mattel!"
IMO, Mattel does a lot of good things. A lot! Be happy with the work they've done. They've given us guys we never thought we'd see. They have made NXT guys before even hitting the main roster. They've made some really awesome Elites. They're stars above Jakks. If you don't like what Mattel is doing then stop spending money on them. No one is forcing you to buy them.

He's got way too many attires for a straight re release. I'd buy any and all repaints of Diesel and Nash

It's another one of THESE threads.
AGAIN, it's not like RSC doesn't actually manufacture the figures or anything...

I disagree, Mattel has given us great figures overall otherwise I wouldn't be buying them. Yes there will always be QC issues but to me if it's bad I just wont buy it or return it if I bought it online but it has to be really bad. Re-releases are good for people who came late into the game. All in all Im very happy that Mattel has the license and are giving us all these nice figures.

Lol at the op exclusive complaint. So Mattel approaches my store offering an exclusive. Of course I am going to want it to be cena, hogan, macho, Austin, rock ect. Why because those guys are popular and sell. No way do I want Jericho in his 2000 attire, first of all my buyer, myself and most of the general public has no idea who he is. So why would they want a lesser known guy in attire that is 15 years old. He is a good collectors place exclusive, like RSC, sdcc, online exclusive ect, or even a store exclusive where collector frequent, TRU, but not to big box stores.
The exclusive choices aren't a problem, it's that if it is not a guy that exceeds the wrestling business main stream retail won't want him.

C'mon bruh, I see where you're trying to go with this but Jericho is a bad example. Anyone who is even half a wrestling fan knows Jericho, especially during his glory years. I mean, the man is still featured on every Raw.
