Looking back at the original brand split from 2002/2008 Rey Mysterio was the guy on Smackdown. Parents bought their kids tickets to see him live, he sold masks and millions worth of merchandise. He was basically one of Smackdowns main draws.
Now in this era we have Kalisto who is very similar to Rey but do you guys think he will reach the successful that Rey did? Unlike Sin Cara Kalisto can talk and is great to watch in the ring so that alone is a bonus for him.
I'm a huge Kalisto fan myself and want him to be huge but the only weak part about him is his name. It's not a bad name but Rey Mysterio sounded more catchy and epic than Kalisto does.
Apart from that I think he has a good chance of making it big on Smackdown.

nope, sadly he just does not click. i'm not even sure if rey mysterio would click if you brought him up now and had him fit their wwe style.

Would have had him go the RAW with the Cruiserweights and then once he & the division was established, have him move away from that. But I'm hoping now that the draft has happened, WWE finds a way to get him more over. He's a much younger much healthier version of Rey. I think he's got the potential to be huge. The talent is there, but they needs to work on things from a corporate side. Get the machine behind him.

I don't think he can can quite reach Mysterio's level, who, for what it's worth, probably overachieved anyway. He can, however, be very successful. He's entertaining in the ring, kids love him, and he's going to have plenty of room on Smackdown.

No. There will never be another like Rey. This. And largely because Kalisto just isn't that great either. His promo yesterday was unbelievably terrible. Even with that though, he's not compelling to the audience. His US Title run was abysmal. It wasn't the booking either. Guy was being booked to win. If the audience cared they would cheer for him. They don't. This is why Kalisto on Smackdown is such a head scratcher. The only chance I think the guy has to climb the ladder is to establish himself in the cruiserweight division. He has to develop a personality though too. He's not so incredible that he's going to get over with his spots. If that were the case he would have already taken off. Even with that though, if we end up seeing a guy like Austin Aries in that cruiserweight division, so a total package guy, then Kalisto is going to be totally out classed.

There's so many other bigger and more popular superstars in this era that can do most things Kalisto can do, where as Rey was one of a kind a decade ago. Times have changed and so has the wrestling syyle. Its going to be hard for a guy like him, especially after just being drafted to the wrong brand where he won't do anything of any importance. He definitely should be on RAW and be THE cruiserweight to beat.

No, not at all.
There was just something about Rey Mysterio and I wasn't even a Rey fan! But I can understand why people were, and he had that magic to him.
Kalisto can try to be "Rey Kalisto Jr." all he wants, but its not gonna work. The fact he is a 2 time US Champion is crazy, but the only reason why is because ADR was the US Champion, and for some reason, the WWE likes to put ADR against other Mexican wrestlers, even though usually their styles don't mesh.
Just because Alberto Del Rio is from Mexico, doesn't mean he can fly around and do the Lucha Libre type wrestling that Kalisto can.

He could be if he worked on his ring style. From what matches I have watched with him there's always been a couple botches. If he could clean it up then I think he could be very successful.

I believe that Kalisto should be on Raw for the cruiserweight division but on the flip side you have Neville and Balor and Zayn
