Don't fret because in a couple of months you will be so freaking sick of seeing large volume of the Dusty Rhodes sitting on the shelves. This reminds me of the initial craze for the 4 Horsemen box set. People went above and beyond looking for them at Target. Once they did their reset, they were in droves and bought in large numbers by people. Then Target put out more for the Christmas reset. Then more because they were clearing out the warehouse. Before long, Horsemen outnumbered the regular WWE figures at some Targets. They couldn't clear them out at 25 dollars and even 12 dollars. Same folks geeked up for the Horsemen now can't stand the sight of them. And once they are out of the way, the Heenan Family takes over to renew the cycle. So no need to stress because Dusty will sitting next to the unsold HOF box sets and Titos taunting you every time you got into Target.

Like I said earlier today on the Marvel board. I go in Target at 8am, they have an X-Men case on the floor with one figure missing (Deadpool). It seems like the employees can get to this stuff if they want to, eh? I want back at lunch time to see if there was any progress on the reset. Nothing updated and the X-Men case was sent back to the stockroom. Somebody took the DP and released the case to the floor, then the floor team must have sent it back because there was no place to for them yet. Long story short---something shady be happening at my Target.

If it's not the stock people destroying boxes or rummaging for what they want, it's the SCALPERS that come in at 3am to pick up their shipment, pay off the middle man and on to eBay.

Palisades Center had them out on Wednesday and were gone within an hour according to the dept head there. But the store my fried works out went from 8 pieces down to 7 but the case is still in the back someplace. Although I am pretty sure I know it is the Deadpool that is missing because my friend said one of the employees was looking for him as well. I am not to worried because I do have a friend who has them ordered with Amazon for me because he got them from another site sooner. So he cancelled his Amazon order except for those two and Rouge. But I had no issues finding Fury and Black Panther multiple times so I am hoping they will be just as easy.

Ok, so yesterday I saw someone post on the Tennessee Findings thread that they went to a target in Riverside or something like that and an employee got them a Dusty ring set from the stockroom. Upon reading this, I checked the inventory tracker for that exact store and saw that they 3 in stock (non salable). So, contrary to this story of pallets and pallets stacked up, the exact same thing that Perfect went through happened to someone else in Tennessee, only with a different result. What makes this so ridiculous to me is that Target website is showing that store as a place that has the item in stock to buy. Regardless of patience, whether the ring will rot on the shelf, or any other conjecture, it's very poor form on the part of Target. I believe that is all that Perfect said. Amazing how people seem to have a problem with target being attacked and blaming perfect, but don't mind spending hundreds on preorders from you know where. Had to get that dig in. Carry on.

I see a lot of people understand and see my side, so thanks. To those who don't, my apologies. I know Dusty will be warming shelves soon as all exclusives do. So I'm not worried. Just thought I'd share my story and experience. Retail giants wonder why people shop more and more online. It's to avoid having to interact with retail employees and their hot garbage. And this is coming from a guy who was a retail manager for 10 years.
And to whoever said it's not like they put hoops in front of me and to quit acting like retailers have a vendetta against collectors......well guess what, retailers do hate collectors. Target is even known to put a sign up saying they will not pull things from the back if the item is considered a popular collectible. They should be cracking down on the scalpers, not the collectors.
Good news is my buddy grabbed a Marvel Deadpool for me today at Walgreens.

There's no excuse on targets part. Prime example I've been calling the target closest to me for the new MMPR figures. They said Tuesday or Wednesday this week... I check the tracker today... It went from 6 (a case) down to 1 so I go there and low and behold the reset still isn't done. They pulled the case from the back for someone else but couldn't for me!

OK so here is my two cents worth. I've been a Dusty fan for as long as I can remember with that being said I am running into the same problem as the rest of you members. My suggestion and I'll be damned it hasn't worked today is to find a young new employee that believes in doing whatever it takes to please the customer and you will get your item. It worked for me with the Horsemen set and a few elite sets. With that being said all the young ones must have quit to go back to school because all I have ran into is crotchety old bitches that won't even walk to the back.

That was more of an over stock issue. If anything this is like the Heenan Set at the moment. There are still member here who never got a Heenan set at their Target. I still agree though, this Ring set will sit on shelves until next summer when everything goes on clearance again.

In the Marvel thread, a user said he had no luck with Target employees helping him. So his girlfriend went in the next day and BOOM, she got the Deadpool figure in the Xmen set. Get a hot girl to ask a dumb male associate to help her out.

I guess it really depends who you deal with at Target. As others said it is on a transition pallet in the back so although it's showing an on hand count of 4 it's not scanned into a location in the back. With this said the employees you dealt with can still go to the back where the transition pallets are and look for it. Most won't though when they see 20 pallets of toys it's easier to say we don't have or can't sell it than dig through cases of toys. Funny because the other day at the Target I work at one of the managers asked me to help her find something in the back it was an X Men legends figure. I was like oh cool I know where that should be since it's on one of the pallets with the WWE stuff. So I climb up a ladder I'm going through boxes on this pallet and I find it give it to her and she looks at the figures and says "This looks like something they would try to sell on eBay, I'm just going to tell them we don't have it. I was like really?? Okay.. So like I said depends who you deal with most retail workers tend to be pretty lazy. I went the extra mile for someone and to no avail.

I still agree though, this Ring set will sit on shelves until next summer when everything goes on clearance again. Most haven't seen the Heenans because of the Horsemen overstock. Even when the Heenans showed up, it's still 3 Horsemen for every 1 Heenan stocked. And you got to expect that Target bought as many if not more Heenans because of the initial success of the Horsemen. When Dusty hits shelves for real, he'll sell strong. Be on Ebay at scalper prices for double or triple the price. Target will discount him a couple of times (They sold him yesterday on their site for 25 dollars. Must know they bought too many.). Then come late November, they will double their output and everyone who wanted him and the WCW ring would be able to buy him. That's why I'm not even stalking any Targets for him because of the 4 Horsemen experience. Bought a set at $50+ when it first came out, another and the Heenans for $25 each many months later, and 2 for 12 dollars each. And not pissed that I could had waited for a deal. I'll get him soon enough probably majorly discounted.

How ridiculous is that? A manager of all people letting money walk out the door, based on what she THOUGHT a customer might do with a toy AFTER they purchase it from her store. Do these employees not understand that the only reason they are there is to sell things?

A sale is a sale regardless if the customer is going to sell them, play with them, put them in a trash can and set them on fire. Makes no sense to me.

So I overpaid on a $10 tito, $20 four horsemen pack and so on? Wrong again. Try not to let your overwhelming butthurt at Target cloud actual facts. Every "target exclusive" is on Amazon at some point and most sell for retail price. Currently Dusty Rhodes is $70 but in a couple weeks it will drop drastically just as everyone of them do when majority of Target stores begin to stock the item.

I feel your pain. Target has the absolute worst selection in my area. Whenever I call to ask about an item they say they don't have it. It is obvious they don't actually look because they respond in like 5 seconds.
