Last night, Dean Ambrose let Ziggler have it in what I felt was kind of a shoot promo. Everything he said was spot on with what I've been feeling about Ziggler for a long time... Even though I bet most of it, if not all, was scripted, I imagine Ziggler had to feel the pain being talked down to like that in front of thousands of people. Where do you think Ziggler's character will go from here!?  |

It was an awesome promo. Really the first time in a while I've cared about Dolph Ziggler. He talked with real passion and determination and after that I'd be happy for Dolph to be the face of smackdown.
The matches he would have with AJ styles, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, John Cena would give them more than enough material to make it work

I think Ziggler's part of the segment started out good, when he brought up the past and the Shield. It felt real.
But when he started screaming, he started to show a little bit of corniness — the typical "I'm gonna scream because I'm burning with passion" — it just felt really scripted.
And then, the next thing you know, Ambrose just crushes all of that with a simple "No, you won't". SAVAGE!
But you know what? It was perfect. I gotta admit, that segment helped this feud feel like the most important one for SummerSlam.

Dean Ambrose was freaking A+++ on SmackDown, that promo was just simply amazing! Ziggler's promo was ok but the screaming at the end killed it he just seemed like a spoiled brat who can't get his way.

IMO Dolph/Dean/AJ/Cena all delivered awesome promos on Smackdown.

I really don't see any reason to cheer him these days, but he looks like he could be a very dislikable, yet entertaining, character... |

I agree, the problem with Ziggler's promo was the screaming. Saying he was 'that damn good' didn't help either. That phrase is synonymous with Triple H to me. He could've gotten it all back by laying out Ambrose, but instead he was left standing impotently as Ambrose walked out dismissively. Then for further burial, Wyatt came out at laid him out. It started out well, but after the way that it ended I don't think anyone expects Ziggler to have a chance at Summerfest.

Everything Ambrose said was absolutely spot on. If anything he was incredibly reserved with what he was saying, but they wouldn't want him to go and act full heelish while giving Ziggler a well overdue on-screen dressing down.
Screw Dolph Ziggler. Get this sad scenario out of the way and give us Ambrose vs Styles.. followed by a Styles title run.

That's exactly what a good promo is supposed to be. It accomplished exactly what good promos are supposed to. They sold everyone on their match. Everyone who was questioning it a week ago, is now at least intrigued to see it. Good stuff.

Loved it. Smackdown was great this week, and Ambrose ridiculing Ziggler was one of the highlights.

They both nailed it. I don't think Ziggler shouting was corny at all, because it came across like genuine anger and frustration about how WWE have undervalued him throughout his career. Best promo Ziggler has ever cut and sold me on the match.

Amazing opening segment on what was a great episode of SD. If SD continues like this it might feel like 2003 again when it was superior to Raw.
