That's why I don't like to read reviews on movies. I love to watch a movie and and have my own opinion. Not going to a movie, and hating it because it's cool to hate it. Just because the internet doesn't like it, doesn't mean I hate it. I have seen some movies that got amazing reviews and thought they were terrible. Suicide Squad was awesome.

If I have my mind made up to see something? I will see it regardless of the reviews. if its getting glowing reviews? it helps my excitement for it......if not? I temper expectations.
That is the ONLY impact reviews have on me.

Just because the internet doesn't like it, doesn't mean I hate it. I have seen some movies that got amazing reviews and thought they were terrible. Suicide Squad was awesome. I don't think anyone is arguing that point. I don't know anyone who bases their opinion of movies solely on reviews. If I'm on the fence about a film, the Rotten Tomatoes score might sway me to see in theaters or wait until it hits Blu-Ray, but by and large, if I was interested when I saw the trailer, the RT score is just an information tidbit to me. Film, like music, is pretty subjective. You can critique acting, directing, and editing, but you can't control someone's enjoyment. The critics have plenty of valid criticisms regarding Suicide Squad, and it seems like many movie-goers agree. Personally, I think the 26% its receiving on Rotten Tomatoes is generous. I thought it was steaming, hot garbage. But, to each his own. There are plenty of occasions where I disagree with critics. I thought X-Men Apocalypse was far better than its aggregate score. On the other end of the spectrum, Spy, which received glowing reviews and an unbelievably high RT score, was one of my least favorite movies I saw in 2015. I thought it was downright awful.

Suicide Squad was fun, and I enjoyed it overall. More often than not, I agree with the RT consensus, and despite liking it, I also understand why it's getting panned. It's a messy film with a terrible villain that feels rather disjointed quite often. It also felt like it was lacking something. Still, Smith, Davis and Margot Robbie made it entertaining enough to watch again.

According to an article on Digital Trends, apparently there's a lot of people who want Rotten Tomatoes shut down because they never give DC films a fair squeeze. In my opinion, the critics that contribute to Rotten Tomatoes seem to be older and more eloquent type people who appreciate films that take a lot of thinking to understand, like the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings films, so they would hate the simplicity of a film like Good Burger or the Friday series. I personally enjoy going to a movie and not having to think about it, I just want to enjoy the action and entertainment. I do enough thinking in school, and when I leave school, I don't want to have to do a lot more thinking, especially when I have to pay for it. Cause dc means don't care

I found Suicide Squad to be all over the place plot wise when I saw it there were many parts that added nothing to the movie and IMO Joker or Batfleck didn't really have to be in the movie other than adding the Harley Quinn backstory
Thought Diablo and Boomerang did a good job in the movie found them very underrated as characters
Also I don't know if im the only one but after watching all the trailers and clips over the build up period when you finally see the movie for the first time in feels like you already saw 90 percent of it on youtube

To be fair though, Batman vs Superman was god awful. One of the worst movies I've seen in the last 6 years. I almost fell asleep during it. I should've, I wouldn't have missed anything.

I mean I actually see this as something that's a long time coming. Studios will put footage into trailers that's not in the film just to get people to go. Often if a film isn't compelling in it's own right. This is something I was told from a head of marketing at Paramount in college. In in any other world they would be taken to court for false advertising but people say " it" with movies. If the kid wasn't being a total dickhead on reddit, I would actually think this would happen. But he's basically being a baby, so it would go nowhere. But overall studios need to knock that crap off.

But that's the thing, it will NEVER stop. Marketing departments get a cut of the movie LONG before it's officially edited and in the can. They're operating on what they have, and what they think will put asses in the seats like you said... But the director and studio are still editing and trimming and tightening the final product. It's a case of the left hand not telling the right hand what is going on... it sucks, but that's the way it's always going to be. "Suing" isn't going to change that.

People are entitled to their opinions, agree or disagree. This is like the lady who went after McDonald's for her spilling coffee on her hand. Ridiculous.
