I swear lads..... I'm absolutely terrified Chewbacca is gonna die in this movie....because it would hurt it for me BIG time. I've just had this terrible feeling ever since I've seen him in the first teaser. Loads of speculation the body Rey is crying over is actually aul Chewie...... Man that would ruin my Christmas..... Don't do it JJ!!!!!! Somebody reassure me!!!!  ? everyone's trying to say she's crying over a downed Finn but to me it looks like chewie's satchel and bandoleer.............  Oh no....now somebody else thinks so too!!! Don't do it JJ!!!! PLEASE. |

Lightning kind of hit me today. I didn't even think of it till now, but what if Kylo Ren is Luke?? Maybe we've been looking at him all along under a mask and Ren being an X-wing pilot was a big swerve? The scene of the burnt Vader helmet and 'Continuing what he started' would make a lot more sense if that is the big reveal.

Maybe we've been looking at him all along under a mask and Ren being an X-wing pilot was a big swerve? The scene of the burnt Vader helmet and 'Continuing what he started' would make a lot more sense if that is the big reveal. Luke is the robotic hand that touches R2. |

Oh okay, I didn't get to see any of the set photos of him without the mask on, but if that's the case, looks that theory might be put to rest. Guess Luke might be in the Kenobi/Master role after all. I do really like the idea of him showing up to be the one save Finn in that confrontation with Ren too. However it turns all out, I have faith in the whole thing being a really good movie. It looks like this is in good hands. |

My predictions... (As a side note, forgive me if any of these are already debunked rumors, I'm a big Star Wars fan but I don't always stay in the loop of the internet talk and I'm not huge on the EU, if that affects this at all. These are all just my thoughts, some of these have already probably been discussed though)
- Kylo Ren is not Luke Skywalker but Skywalker's son. Ren is avenging is grandfather and Luke is thought to be long gone until showing up in the end to battle Ren.
- Chewwie will die. I don't think I'll be able to take it if that happens but all signs are pointing at that it will. I think Kylo Ren or Captain Phasma will be responsible but my money is on Phasma becoming one of the most hated SW characters (not talking about Jar Jar hated but full blooded heel).
- Rey ends up being Han and Leia's daughter and ends up realizing she's force sensitive but not til near the end up the movie.(Crazy thought and again probably something that would be easily debunked by the more in the loop fans but what if they do end up showing Leia handling a lightsaber as a fully trained Jedi at some point?)
- Other theory, Rey is also Luke Skywalker's daughter, meaning Ren and Rey are sibling much like Leia and Luke?
- Skywalker could also come in as the Obi Wan role to train Rey and seemingly be in too rough of shape to battle until the final battle with Ren.

I think if they were to kill of Chewie they do it having him sacrifice himself for Rey, Han or Leia. My guess is that both Rey and Kylo Ren are the twins of Han and Leia.

I'm fearing for Han. Harrison Ford has always wanted to kill off Han in a heroic way and with the lack of Luke in the trailers I'm afraid Han will sacrifice himself for the others with no Luke around. If that happens I can see Chewie becoming either Leia or Rey's bodyguard (I think Rey will end up being Han and Leia's daughter in the big reveal).
I also think they're pulling a fast one with us regarding Finn with the lightsaber. We see him holding it but in both trailers he looks nervous and shaky as hell. This could be due to fighting Ren but I feel he somehow comes to aquire the lightsaber and thinks he force sensitive, only for us to find out that it is Rey who is force sensitive.

Totally agree, The one teaser really makes it look like its Rey who will be force sensitive (the teaser where it's Luke speaking and he hands her the saber). I think Finn will be a very interesting character because of his back story and I think he'll end up falling into the Han Solo type role while Rey will be the new Jedi whether she's Luke's daughter or Han/Leia's. I still have a feeling she'll be some how related to Kylo Ren as well. I'll be ok if they kill Han, just not Chewwie please. |

Pictures show us Ren and some stormtroopers walking away from a burning settlement in the desert....this could be the person Rey is crying over. If Rey is Han and Leia's daughter, she's going to be force sensitive. It would also be too cliche to have her be the Han Solo character when she's Han Solo's daughter. I'm expecting her to be both Han's daughter and an eventual Jedi. I think we assume Luke is Ben from the OT. So it makes more sense for him to be a hermit who is conscious of what his niece has going on. Just my take.
Picking Han to die over Chewie is like picking Batman to die over Robin. I think that's crazy talk. To me though, they're like an old married couple, if one of them goes, the other probably isn't far behind. I want as much Han in this new trilogy as possible. I'm all for a heroic death if the timing is right but I doubt I'll feel that time is right in the first film of the three. I can see Chewie dying in 7 setting off a chain of events that leads to Han dying in 8, which would definitely give 8 that Empire Strikes Back type of feeling to the end of the film, in huge massive way.
Whatever though. I'm not trying to fantasy book the movie. I'm sure they've got it all figured out and it'll be amazing.
