Saw it again yesterday.... Surprisingly (or not, really) the theater was still packed to capacity.
It was just as great the 2nd time around!
I honestly can't decide which of the new characters are my favorites... But I gotta say, I loved Maz Kanata much more the 2nd time around, she's such a fun character I hope there's room for her somewhere in the next episodes!

I liked it the first time I saw it and even more the second time. BUT that doesn't mean it's a great movie. It isn't IMO. And the Star Wars nut huggers are way more annoying than the haters.
"I felt like a child again!" Please. It is what it is. And it's far from great.

Like it or not (and you don't), Star Wars has been a GIANT deal since 1977.. And everyone that was 7, 8, or 9 years old in 1977 are now full grown adults with responsibilities and family's of their own.. Why should it bug you that a movie that is wrapped in nostalgia make these people feel nostalgic? Get over yourself dude.. Let these people enjoy their film.

So Rey....who's the father? Luke or Han? I honestly think Han, because the chemistry between them was just there, not to mention she knew her way around the Falcon and the moment Rey and Leia share after Rey comes back

I REALLY want her to be a Solo, BUT, I think it's about 95-99% that she's Luke's daughter. Han would have known he had a daughter, Leia too, and we get more of an aunt vibe than a motherly vibe from Leia, who seems to have figured out who she is by the end of the film, based on letting her deliver the lightsaber. You have to figure the entire Galaxy, of sorts, is looking for Luke and Leia lets Rey go see him, seemingly in her place. Plus, figure that Rey has all the signs of the chosen one, which ultimately was Luke and not Leia. Luke was stronger with the Force than Leia and so it would be sensical that his child would be stronger with the Force than Ben, which is why Kylo is chasing the Dark Side, because he wants to be stronger. Han wasn't Force sensitive, Mara Jade, who may or may not exist in the cannon moving forward, was a Jedi. So Rey is potentially the child of two Jedi.
I don't know, too many signs point to her being a Skywalker. Han is my favorite character, Rey is my new favorite character. I badly want her to be Han's daughter, and I think it would make losing him easier but I just think he's cool Uncle Han and she felt the loss because it was the first fatherly figure she'd had since leaving Jakku, plus they were still related and we probably should assume Rey felt that as well.
My guess is that JJ felt the Solo Twins were too much like the OT, especially when A New Hope and The Force Awakens already share so many similar themes. So he kind of just molded the story elements of Jacen and Jaina, and Ben, into Rey and Ren. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong but that's just kind of how I perceived what happened.

Finally got around to seeing it just now. Holy crap...that movie was awesome.
I was blown away by how cool everything looked. The Stormtroopers were badass, and all the new characters were great. It had the perfect blend of old and new.
I can't wait to go see this again. Bring on the next movie.
10/10

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong but that's just kind of how I perceived what happened. so many signs point to her being a Skywalker, but I still think the better narrative is brother vs. sister, the Solo kids.. Rey vs. Ren as long lost siblings is better than cousin vs. cousin.. I think they said Kylo Ren is in his 30's and Rey's characters is 18 or 19.. Kylo could have turned to the dark side before Rey was born.. Han Solo and Leia break up without Han ever knowing that Leia is pregnant.. She puts her on Jakku and the rest is history.. Leia and Luke could be the only two that even know Rey exist.. I think both scenarios make sense, brother vs. sister or cousin vs. couins.. So I can't wait to see how this plays out.

I've changed my mind on Rey after remembering when Kylo Ren was first interrogating her and says "I see the ocean, the island, I see it" or something along those lines, just made me think that's Luke's island, she knew where he was all along but just didn't know how to get there because she's never left Jakku

I want to start off by saying this is not a post hating on Star Wars, just an opinion. I love the entire saga
As I stated in a previous post I'm 35 years old so I grew up with the Original Trilogy. Guess I watched them all on VHS countless times when I got to be 6 or 7 years old. So they are engrained in me as "great movies"
Over the last week or so I finally got a Blu Ray player so I could watch the collection from start to finish. I planned on doing it before I saw TFA. Didn't work out that way
Gotta say, gave the new Trilogy a chance , and really enjoyed them. Saw TFA. Loved it. Went back and Watched 4, 5 & 6. I know this sounds unholy, but I found myself bored to death. Maybe because I've seen them so much (but it's been a loooong time), maybe it was just the technology/visual between new and old, I'm not sure. But something after watching the Saber Duals of 1,2,3 & 7 and then seeing the old ones. I'm not sure
Now from a pure story, those 3 will NEVER be touched, but I'm curious, am I alone? Or has anyone else felt like this? And for any SW newbies, does 4,5 & 6 blow everything else out of the water for you?
And like I said this isn't a hate post, so save the "I'm stupid", etc comments. Just wanted to share because I never thought I'd feel this way regarding the Originals

How the hell will the timeline place? Will it be like this? So it'll be something like (beginning of timeline to last) Episode 1, Episode 2, Clone Wars Cartoon+Movie, Episode 3, Star Wars: Rebels TV Show, Rogue One, Han Solo Spinoff, Episode IV, Boba Fett Spinoff, Episode V, Episode VI, Episode VII, Episode VIII, Episode IX
Or does the Han Solo and Boba Fett spinoff place differently?

Pretty sure you nailed it. I'm wondering if we see Boba in the Solo movie as well. At one time that was rumored to be a Han/Boba movie and now it's two separate films. But yeah, it's my understanding that Rogue One is the Rebels stealing the Death Star plans and Boba Fett is about Vader sending Fett to investigate the events of how Rogue One happened after Ep IV. And then Solo is the prequel film for the character.
