I didn't think it was a bad RAW per se. But it did drag a lil. However I will say Rusev has been KILLING it the last few weeks.

I beg any of you in this thread that don't plan on watching smackdown tomorrow, please watch it. Smackdown has been better this far and it deserves to have better ratings than raw. Gonna repost this. Please give smackdown a chance!!!! This. |

I was flipping back and forth all night between RAW, the Punk documentary and the Yankee game. The only times I stopped to actually watch a good portion of RAW were for Finn's segment and Brock. I have absolutely zero interest in anything to do with Roman Reigns. I mean, they might as well just have the US Title match main event SummerSlam since it's clear Roman's feud is still the top priority.
I definitely won't be watching RAW for a while after SummerSlam. I'll tune in to see what's happening with Finn, but SmackDown is the far superior show now with Ambrose as Champ and complimentary pieces like AJ, Ziggler, Bray, etc.
Btw, what in the world was the point in splitting up The Club?

I'm going to ,begrudgingly, give this episode a C-.......only because i really only enjoyed three things on it, and 2 of those things were booking missteps! The rest of the show was forgettable as could be and the live crowd was too dead to help any. Anyway, the three things that either didn't suck or nearly put me to sleep (i know....not exactly setting the bar high this week) were:
The Lesnar/Heyman/Slater exchange. Done about as well as it could be and actually intrigued me. Good stuff IMO
Demon Balor.....yeah.....i enjoy seeing it. Even if it serves to remind me i don't have E41 yet. However, i agree with just about everyone that it was a bit of a waste here. And ,frankly, the segment came off on the odd side,however that may be in part to the idiot who jumped in after Rollins. He seemed to be off his game afterward. Which ,again ,makes this an even bigger waste of the reveal in my view.
Reigns vs Rusev. The match was solid. I really can't complain at all about either mans work tonight. But ,again, a waste. Why not just save it for Sunday?
All in all those three things kept it from being a D- show in my personal estimation. Even the normal high spots for me like Jeri-Ko and a Zayn match just didn't click with me tonight. I mean I've seen far worse as far as in ring product on Raw than this episode.....its just the booking of this show, that did not seem like a go home show at all, that baffles me. Once again, SD doesn't really have to do much to be the better show........which is exactly what it did last week unfortunately. Not much and still bested Monday.

I mean, even with Raw's ratings what they are, almost three times as many people see it than they do the Pay-Per-Views.
But regardless, the purpose of Raw has always been to sell you the Pay-Per-View. Both the television ratings and the Network are hugely important factors in their overall business model (in fact, they're #1, and #2, respectively.) They did neither a service tonight. The show was bad, they headlined with a match they should've been promoting for Sunday, not giving away. They pissed off the people who wanted to see the match when it meant something this weekend, and they gave no one a reason to care about the match tonight. With a decisive finish, they've either guaranteed that Rusev looks like garbage if he loses Sunday, or they feed the 50/50 booking monster even more by giving him his win back.
It's just amateur bullshit.
