Thanks to all the dudes who gave me criticism and suggestions on my last round of customs. I have a few works in progress at the moment but this is the first one that ive gotten close to finished. Really took the time to play with different paints and the such and feel like i got a good formula for getting it to look less bumpy. Trying to finish up this next round and then add the decals but im curious to see what people think of my Benoit at this point.   |

He's definitely looking more smooth on the paint side of things, though it still looks like you're getting some grittiness in your skin tone. Is this a standard acrylic paint, or a particular brand you are using? Based upon how smoothly you set down these colors, I feel like you shouldn't be getting that result. I like his expression, a lot of figures Mattel puts out seem to be rather expression-neutral, so it's good to see some growling!

But also, I think the pic doesn't do it much justice. I'm gonna finish a few of these up as well as packaging for em and post em with some not rushed pics. Would love some more feedback from ya! |

I'm not sure how you're lighting your pictures now, but even a desk lamp with bendable neck can be used to throw some helpful light, especially if you don't have a chance to take pictures until the evening. As for the Dick Blick, I can't say as I've used their paints since high school. You might look at some of the skin colors available from other brands, just for the sake of comparison in quality and smoothness. I have been watching a tube of Vallejo Sunny Skintone on ebay, and have half a mind to get it, just to see what the texture and toughness is like compared to the Model Master brand. I have seen some good pictures from people using the Vallejo brand to paint miniatures, and it doesn't seem too expensive to get a tube for testing out.

What was used for the upper body?
I have a custom Benoit also with the same legs and really like the look of this one. Also, is the height accurate?

Looks good! Agree with comments above about gritty look and better lighting. Have you thought about shortening his forearms?
