I'm actually shocked a dude named Stetson Bennett IV just won a national title.
And all it took was the other teams top 2 weapons being out.
Also I can't wait for Nakobe Dean to be an all time bust. The way these announcers have rides his junk the last 2 games is pathetic. 72 tackles, 6 sacks and 2 ints in like 15 games isn't that impressive. Best LB in the country my ass.

Going to be tough for the CFP panel to shoehorn in Notre Dame this year.

After 15 straight losses, Tennessee has finally beaten Alabama.

Its kinda funny how everyone sees Bama with Saban...I grew up in a time (80s & 90s) where Bama was mediocre. Their run, much like NFL dynasties is great for their fans...but like Taker said in his HOF speech the toes you step on on the way up are connected to the asses you'll have to kiss on the way back down. Those same teams/fan bases you talked smack to for a decade are now on the way up themselves.

Tennessee reminds me of 2019 LSU. Just not quite the same defensively. LSU had to go on the road against Alabama that year 8-0 vs. 8-0. Here we are and Tennessee is on the road against Georgia 8-0 vs. 8-0. We’ll see if they can get it done.

Disappointing game. GA crafted the perfect scheme and executed well.
8-1 for TN is still a hell of a accomplishment thus far and I still see them going 11-1 with a possible playoff berth.
Go Vols 🟠🟠🟠

Going into this weekend I said UT needed to lose close (7pts or less) and they would be fine. I fully expected a loss in this game. They were completely outplayed on both sides of the ball though and beat by 14. I honestly expected them to be toast for the playoffs...However, Clemson then laid an egg against an Unranked Notre Dame team and then Bama took a 2nd L to LSU...Now I dont see UT falling any further than 5th possibly 6th in the Playoff race. TCU will lose at least one game and one of OSU/UM is going to knock the other out. UT just needs to get past a very good South Carolina team & win out and they should be in the playoffs.

Would be an interesting scenario, if, LSU won out. No 2-loss team has made the playoff, and their resume would be better than probably any possible 1 loss teams out there (OSU/MICH loser, TCU if they lose, and maybe whoever wins the Pac-12... Oregon w/ 1 loss would be their best bet right now). They're already 10th before beating Alabama. Would be a very opinionated matter if it played out.

Earlier this morning I read a prediction that had Tennessee vs Georgia in the National Championship.
If second chance SEC matchups have taught us anything, don’t be shocked if the Volunteers hoist that trophy.

I'm here for the mayhem. I hope we see a 1 loss Pac 12 champ, Undefeated TCU, Undefeated Michigan/Ohio State Big Ten Champ, and a two loss LSU SEC Champ, 1 loss Georgia, so that they are forced to decide. Everyone knows that the playoff could be expanded tomorrow if they wanted to, but much like every thing else with the NCAA it's going to take years and they will drag it out. It took the Alabama-LSU BCS game for them to finally go to a playoff system. If a one loss conference champ is left out because they put a 2 loss LSU and 1 loss Georgia in, maybe we get the expansion next year and not 2024 or 2026.

LSU winning out could be what throws this crazy but not because of who they would jump but for the fact I could see them winning out & still not getting in. Eye test will still put Georgia in and Tenn beating LSU @ Baton Rouge by 37 kills it for them.
Things ultimately always play out though. I fully expect the rankings to be 1)Georgia 2)OSU/UM winner, 3)Tennessee, 4)OSU/UM loser

I don't see Tennessee getting the Alabama treatment of getting in the playoffs without winning the division, especially if you have one loss conference champs that they could pick from. But then again I'm a little of the old school mind that if you can't win your conference you don't deserve to play for the national title. My best friend is a Tennessee alum so I do wish them the best because it's been a long time for them. But I also think if LSU wins out and beats an undefeated Georgia, the committee will argue that it's the most "impressive" win of the season and look past the losses that LSU has had, leaving Tennessee out.

I would be inclined to keep Tennessee over LSU because not only does LSU have one more loss, but Tennessee whacked them in Baton Rouge. That should be a rule the committee follows.. if record/losses are equal (or worse) the head-to-head winner gets ranked higher.

I know “conference champs” and all that but if LSU wins the SEC it doesn’t negate the fact they have 2 losses and if Tennessee wins out how can you put LSU over Tennessee after the Vols beat the brakes off of LSU in Death Valley?
I don’t see GA losing so I’m going with:
1 Georgia 2 Ohio State/Michigan winner 3 Tennessee 4 Ohio State/Michigan loser
I don’t think TCU gets in

I don’t think TCU gets in because I think they will lose a game, at least. I would easily take the PAC-12 champion over the Ohio State/Michigan loser, as long as they have 1 loss of course.

I wouldn't put the loser of the Ohio State/Michigan game in the playoff. I still see the Big Ten as them and no one else. So if you can't win the only game that matters on your schedule, do you really deserve to play against other elite teams?
If LSU stumbles today and Ole Miss wins out, that would be interesting. I think Ole Miss can beat Alabama because Alabama was a few plays away from losing to Texas, a play away from losing to A&M, lost to LSU and Tennessee. Not sure if Ole Miss could beat Georgia, though in the SEC title.

It’s been reported the CFP committee is big on Tennessee due to their strength of schedule and the dominating win at LSU.
I understand the score didn’t necessarily dictate the domination GA displayed over TN but at the end of the day it was a 14 point loss on the road to the AP#1 and defending National Champion.
Ohio State or Michigan will have at least 1 loss. TCU may win out but they’re not even top 5 in wins vs ranked teams.
I just don’t see how an 11-1 Vols team doesn’t make the playoff.
