He had to know he was going to win.
Vince McMahon wouldn't tell him he isn't winning. Every wrestler knows they are winning and/or losing said match.
I don't buy this story for one second.

While i believe Owens ,and everyone else in the match, knew the finish, I'd love to think Steph and Foley were in the dark about it. And i guess it possible, though unlikely, they may not have known. But i just don't think they'd give Owens or anyone a false finish to a major title match on national television. If that ends up being the case, then kudos on pulling it off.

I believe as well they changed the finish at the last minute.. Owens reaction said it all. He had the look on his face to HHH like "holy crapam I supposed to do this?!?"

I don't believe it, but I also don't not believe it. Quite the conundrum you're in

If true, this added to the moment. When I was watching it I was thinking that it was a hell of an acting job by KO, Steph, and Foley.

Let's just say, I hope this is true. I want to believe it.

Cant say for sure either way, but i dont think him being amped up gave it away. It was his first shot at the main belt, and he probably wanted to give off the impression he belonged. Who knows. I don't think he knew. The legit shock on his face as Trip flips Seth over and looks at him. And this was his first main event World Title shot in WWE, anyone would be hyped as f*ck.
