I think he was just telling WCW to bring it. Mocking hogan and whatnot, I don't think he would have known, hell, after hearing some podcasts and shoots, I don't think Eric knew Hogan was actually going to be the 3rd man until days before when Hogan finally agreed.
It sucks for Shawn because WCW did bring it. I was so excited he was finally champion and then he had the nWo to compete with. No way was he winning that one

No, there is no way that HBK knew that Hogan was going to be in that group, because I really don't even think WCW knew what they were gonna do with Hall and Nash at first. The whole NWO thing really did just come to be gradually and worked so well.
I don't think that the NWO would be held so high prestige either if someone like Sting or Luger ended up being the third man. Hulk Hogan is what made the NWO. Hall and Nash just were the beginning ingredients for it.

He was legit pissed that Hall and Nash were leaving. He was finally on top and now his best friends, and top feud partners, we're jumping ship.
He was simply mocking WCW and the "old farts" like Hogan that they were built on.

The whole NWO thing really did just come to be gradually and worked so well. I don't think that the NWO would be held so high prestige either if someone like Sting or Luger ended up being the third man. Hulk Hogan is what made the NWO. Hall and Nash just were the beginning ingredients for it. As much as people harm on Hulk Hogan, it can never be understated that Hogan was the integral part of both wrestling boom periods. Sure Hogan was the person he was but without Hogan, who knows where the business would have gone to. As aras the match at In Your House: Good Friends Better Enemies, is was quite jarring to see a match like that in the WWF in 1996. It was one of four outstanding matches Kevin Nash had in the WWF. The other being against Razor Ramon at SummerSlam 1994, Bret Hart at Survivor Series 1995, and The Undertaker at WrestleMania XII. Shawn Michaels had the right to be pissed off about Hall and Nash's departure. If Vince McMahon has the money to pay both Hall and Nash. Since WCW was going to offer more, Hall and Nash followed where the money went. I heard on a podcast last year that it bothered McMahon when Hall left moreso than Nash. It stems back when Vince McMahon directed the Razor Ramon vignettes which were shot on location in Florida. He was legit pissed that Hall and Nash were leaving. He was finally on top and now his best friends, and top feud partners, we're jumping ship. He was simply mocking WCW and the "old farts" like Hogan that they were built on. As I mentions above, Michaels did have a legit reason to be pissed. I know internally, Hall and Nash gave their notice by January of 1996.

Wasn't Sting gonna be the third man at some point?
Either way, I think a lot of coke went into the planning of that match. I mean, Mad Dog Vachon's leg gets pulled off and used as a weapon.
Zack Gowen ain't got sh** on that.

Sting was their backup plan so to speak. If Hogan turned down the heel turn then the 3rd man was going to be Sting.

He probably just did Hogan's taunt since he was the face of WCW and that's where Hall and Nash were headed.

Like others said he was probably just throwing their taunts out there because like Nash they both went to WCW.

Nah I just think HBK was mocking Hogan. Sidenote, have any of you heard Nash's shoot from maybe a yr ago? Something about his voice is so soothing and it puts me to sleep. Not in bad way like he's boring, but like a bed time story. The stories are outrageous and hilarious. Must watch IMO.

I enjoyed it since he held nothing back and the whole thing was entertaining.
