I don't believe he ever make it to WWE, no. He had his thumb or finger cut off too, and from memory they never caught the guys who did it.

Nah he never made it past companies like CZW and pretty much stepped away from wrestling sadly. It's a shame because the dude was talented as even without a thumb lol. They never caught the guys that cut his thumb off and attempted to cut off his man hood but it's been long rumored that it was two wrestlers from XPW sent by Rob Black to do the deed. I can't for the life of me remember their names though.

Holy crap. CZW was on TV every week in my area and the time I was really into it was the time this guy was big and he lost his thumb and whatnot. I always thought it was a work though?? Man that stuff was wild. I should've went to a show

I am a big fan of Messiah. The Godsmack finisher is just brutal. He has this captivating look. Then again, many XPW guys have that IT factor. Highly underated promotion, for their vignettes, promos, matches, and surprises.
You might be interested in Messiah's shoot promo at the end of a CZW show, Ultraviolent Freedom of Expression, where he shoots on the incident, for a minute. A good interview that goes a tad more indepth is from In Your Head Podcast, and then the actual AMW segement, of course.
I would love to see him come back to CZW, ROH, etc. I believe some company owns the right to some matches featuring him, Sick Nick, and possibly Punk, from Epic and Steel Domain Wresting. Hopefully they come out some day.

The Messiah had a huge cult following back in 2000 and 2001, without people even seeing him wrestle, just the buzz from the internet and from the cheaper quality wrestling magazines that would cover stories on XPW.
The thumb thing is legit real. They tried to cut off his penis too, but he fought them off.
The story goes, that supposedly Billy Welch (The Messiah) was sleeping with Janet Romano (Lizzy Borden, ex adult film star who was married to Rob Black at one time) so that's why the hit was on The Messiah's head. Shane Douglas ended up having Lizzy Borden be his valet in XPW after Shane took over the company for Rob Black.
Funny thing is now, Rob Black hates wrestling and thinks its stupid and such. Yet when it was the 'in' thing back in the late 90s and early 2000s, he had a wrestling promotion.

He wasn't much of a wrestler, but still, having your thumb cut off is horrendous.

LOVED Messiah. HI-V was killer. I liked his CZW work moreso than his XPW. And it was no doubt Rob Black who hired the goons to attach Messiah

Messiah and The Backseat Boyz were so damn good together. I'm genuinely surprised that you were a CZW fan at some point.

When they put those meat hooks in Zandigs back and hung him from the ECW Arena, and wouldn't let him down until the fans left the arena.... just crazy heel heat! But some of these guys didnt NEED that to be great. Messiah, Flash, Backseat, Mondo, Justice, etc. They could put on a great show without night after night of gratuitous over the top violence. I also enjoyed CZW when they were working with Chikara and we were seeing more wrestling added to the show. LOVED Messiah. HI-V was killer. I liked his CZW work moreso than his XPW. The era of CZW featuring Guys like Hero, Steen, Kingston, Quack, Claudio, B-Boy, etc is by far one of my favorite times for the company. They were doing great things with Mike Burns as the booker.

Did anyone ever watch the matches between The Messiah vs. Supreme?? They usually fought over the KOTDM Title in XPW.

Did anyone ever watch the matches between The Messiah vs. Supreme?? They usually fought over the KOTDM Title in XPW. Those got bloody insane, no pun intended. The XPW tv fight outside of the office was good between them too. As an aside, I feel like the crazier KOTDM matches happened when Angel and Luke fought Supreme.....they had something to prove.

I did see some of those matches too, and you are right, they were crazier! A lot of high risk falls and such. XPW did have some good talent, just they wasted a lot of it on the extreme hardcore style matches. Like "Rock Superstar" Kaos. I believe he was the longest reigning XPW TV Champion they had, and he was pretty damn good!

IIRC Messiah said Kaos was the best talent in XPW. Man I miss Kaos vs Danny Doring....good storyline and matches. You are right that XPW did a lot of extreme, but I always felt like it was not overused. They mixed in Lucha and pure wrestling matches from the likes of MMW to Super Crazy to Vampiro and ICP to Dynamite D and Nozawa. Gimmicks and regionality were a big part of XPW (even running the show in a Rodeo ring), but I always found that to be its charm. That being said, they did go a bit over the line for some folks with the blood, girls, language and storylines. I still love it, and find that company to have filled a void for me that gave me more ECW style. Well, that and 3PW As a side note: Kaos had a stint in WSX, but sadly that flopped. Does come to CWFH sometimes, and still does teach at Santino Bros, which, ironically is the gym Spanky used to teach Eva Marie on Total Divas (you can see the R.I.P. Dynamite D banner in the background). I just let people know in case they want to watch him again. Much love and respect! VPV

Doring never did beat him for the TV Title either. I believe X-Pac came in and beat Kaos for the TV Title. Back when Shane Douglas was running XPW on the east coast in the ECW Arena. That is when Shane tried to make XPW INTO ECW. That was cool and all, but I know a lot of hardcore XPW fans on the west coast didn't care for that.

Discovering deathmatches was like finding wrestling all over again for me. CZW was my go to from 2002 to about 2006. I'm rambling. Messiah should have gone further. Kaos should have aswell.

Kaos did appear on Raw though. He was a jobber though, and I wanna say it was in either late 2007 or early 2008. But that's as far as he got to being a WWE superstar. Did you ever watch the XPW TV show?? I remember years ago, they put them out on DVD in seasons. I bought the first 2 seasons, and ended up selling them years later. But they were okay at times, other times not the best. A lot of filler it seemed.
