This may sound like a dumb question/opinion, feel free to bash lol.
I was wondering why the option of having an entire Basic set full of first time figures hasn't even explored. FTiL figures seem to sell superbly well. Seeing as how we have a lot of new people of the rosters (Alexa Bliss, AJ Styles, Carmella, Nia Jax ect...) I just wonder why having a series of all brand new figures is just "out of the question."
I'm not saying id expect to see several series of all new guys. Just one full set where each has never been produced. I'm totally not dissatisfied with the sets. They're really great. Just seeing another person who has a multitude of figures already is a bit stale.
Maybe it's just me being uber impatient or wanting more characters. However I am happy that the expansion of NXT figures has been added. It feels like we finally have a company that has worked hard at producing at least one of each person on roster. I guess I also get a little impatient in the way of legends ect. Since we don't have a firm "Classics" or "Legends" series (not including the HOF sets) I get a little anxious since there are limited Flashback slots and so many relevant legends we could get.....I'm ramblin now but you get the idea lol

Well if every figure in a wave was first time in the line that development costs for 6 new figures. Repaints can save some budget room in a wave to be put toward a new head sculpt or more complex paint. I would think it's a budget reason.

First time in the line sell well? Interesting theory..
We would like to direct the peoples attention to the prosecution's first exhibit, Junkyard Dog.
Care to cross examine?

First time in the line sell well? Interesting theory.. We would like to direct the peoples attention to the prosecution's first exhibit, Junkyard Dog. Care to cross examine? Elite 33 was over produced & way more JYD were made then necessary. The entire E33 is that way - Elite 39 is the same way. Bill discussed this issue recently & that's why the Elite Legends line remakes happened & why they are do 2 different waves of the same series early next year to avoid this issue. JYD JAKKS figures did not warm so o guess that will be my evidence.

And do you have any more "evidence" besides one figure out of all the FTIL figures? Especially when that figure was part of an overproduced wave.

I never said ALL FTiL sell well. But there are many that do tend to sell very well. Enzo and Cass, Sasha, we KNOW AJ and Asuka will sell well. I'm also predicting Harlem Heat to sell well. Granted Booker has a figure but Stevie has has a bunch of fans wanting his Mattel. Plus let me add that JYD had multiple previous figures. I'm talking about figures that are compel toy brand new to the WWE brand.

They did make waves of all first time in the line figures. It was Basic Series 1 & Elite Series 1.

I can understand why the consumer might want this, but from Mattel's end I don't really see the point. If FTIL figures sell really well, they will probably sell even better with staggered releases than being released in one wave. Not everyone has the budget to just run out and buy an entire set of figures. The bulk of collectors are kids whose parents buy the figures for them. Also, if you release all the FTIL in one set, doesn't that mean many subsequent sets of repaints to follow?
