I actually made a similar thread a few months ago. Everything in todays WWE is half baked and they're simply not capable of doing storylines anymore. I agree 100% and may I add Shane McMahon's return. Why wasn't HHH concerned about the son and heir returning and what was the deal with the whole Undertaker match. Was he a heel who sold his soul to Vince and more importantly why did Shane get control when he lost? Todays WWE needs a Vince Russo. Vince Russo? Hell ing no Give Paul Heyman some creative stroke and stuff will be gold.

because im pretty sure the WWE "writers" have no clue to what they are doing, and they literally book/write shows on a week to week basis, only connecting dots when they absolutely have to

Dude I agree WWE needs some consistency but in what world would Russo's type of stories follow through. Russo in the attitude era was filtered. Russo in the maybe six months total as head creative in WCW produced some of the worst TV ever. Crappy matches. Gimmicks for no reason. Offensive garbage like making fun of a Bells Palsy victim. Putting an actor as your world champion. Worked shoots no one reacted to or just booed because it was boring and nonsense. Vince Russo sucked in TNA too. There is no reason for that hack to ever be on a creative team again.

This is why there should be a stop gap person between the head of writing and Vince. And that person should be the dreaded "Wrestling Guy".......a person who either booked during their run or ,at the very least, had an in ring career. My take is ,someone who has been there and understands ring psychology , probably has a pretty good grasp on keeping the logic in the shows. The writers are busy just getting the shows done (look at how rough that "on the fly" Raw after Summer Slam was) that they often overlook details to get the product on TV. An old school booker would at least take the time to post produce those details to fill in the void. The two main shows are live,so things may be harder to produce on the fly, but in the age of the WWE Network no additional details should be spared. An extra interview, a backstage angle, etc can be produced as content for the Network and further these stories and angles.....flesh them out as they should be. And having a "wrestling guy" proof reading (for lack of a better term) these stories can catch those missing details and order whatever needs to be done,be it for the next weeks show or post produced segment. Just my theory of course, but anything to get us less plot holes and head scratching moments is worth a shot IMO

Yes he was filtered and did do a lot of crap but he did create a lot of great storylines and feuds. I'm not saying that I want Russo back. All I want is gripping storylines and if Russo could provide that then I say go for it. Also Russo planned story's months in advance which gave them time to develop but today everything is written at the last minute.

I'm not gonna argue with you because it's just not a defensible opinion. WCW under Russo was unintelligible. It contributed to the company dying.

I get not having the over dramatic angles but at least give us a backstory or segments that give us insight to the character and develope a plot. I miss matches where we had backstage fights, the hardcore championship etc. I only really care about the main events nowadays. The rest of the roster feels like they have nothing going on, they need to start giving these characters stories and not make them feel like jobbers. We need a reason to care for these guys, otherwise what's the point?

Slow burn. They're building towards Rollins vs Triple H for WM 33. Exactly. People are so impatient these days. I always laugh when I read that something pisses people off to such an extent, why do you watch it if it upsets you that much?

There have been several head scratching moments over the last...well...couple of years...but the one thing recently that actually bothered me was this debacle of a tag team title tournament on Smackdown.
If AA can't compete...explain to me how that's not a forfeit. Tell me why Slater and Rhyno aren't automatically champions.
Why would the Hype Brothers, who lost...and the Usos, who not only lost in less than 30 seconds but then jumped and injured their opponents, causing them to be unable to compete...get to have a match for the right to face Slater and Rhyno in the final? That makes LESS than no sense and it's insulting.

Russo's WCW was still better than todays WWE. I watched an episode of a 2000 Nitro and it was way more enjoyable than last weeks Raw. Now that is a problem IMO because I went off WCW during that time because it was so bad but if I can watch it now and say that it's better than the current WWE product then I guess there are serious issues. I would also go as far to say that WCW from back then would kick modern WWE's ass in a rating battle. Infact put NXT against Raw and see which show would draw more.

Well I guess most of you in this thread would've hated the 'Who dunnit?' Storyline for Stone Cold's hit and run, which lasted nine months because nobody came out the next night on Raw and said that they did it.
I'm glad Triple H wasn't on Raw. It gives you a reason to tune in each week until he finally appears and tells everyone why he did what he did. I hope they can build a decent story of it and stretch it to Mania for Rollins vs Triple H. They can also do Reigns vs Triple H in between, maybe at Survivor Series.

Slow burn. They're building towards Rollins vs Triple H for WM 33. I see that but who says that their first match needs to be at WrestleMania? What happened to blow off feuds at Mania? It is actually possible to do a 4-5 month feud in 2016 if you do it right. WWE does this whole keep them away from each other for months while they do something else then a month before their first match they cut promo's on each other and then they wrestle. You can easily do a heated feud that lasts months. Thats where creativity comes into play. Personally, I'd have Rollins slowly turn face over next few weeks demanding Stephanie for answers while he works with Owens. HHH screws Rollins at CoC. Have Rollins/HHH finally face off in December with Rollins going over. HHH screws Rollins in Rumble. HHH/Rollins have a match on PPV between RR/WM where Triple H gets DQ'd and beats the crap out of Rollins. Sets up maybe a street fight for Rollins/Triple H to end the feud at WrestleMania. Rollins gets huge babyface win at WrestleMania and can continue to be the face that truly runs the place. Just an idea but it is doable to have a prolonged feud that WWE hasnt been able to do in years.

Id actually like Rusev to cost Reigns the title shot, then see those 2 have some kind of no holds barred match at COC
