Rank Chimaev. There are not 15 better welterweights alive, much less in the ufc today.

Man I love Carla Esparza. Shes so small and at such a disadvantage just about every fight, but there is no quit in her.
Shes come a long way with her striking too. From that Joanna fight to now is a 180 degree turnaround.

Rogerio Nogueira went 0-3 against Shogun and retired. He shouldve fought Quinton Jackson back in Pride.

Rank Chimaev. There are not 15 better welterweights alive, much less in the ufc today. Don't rush it. Man's beat someone making their UFC debut and someone who's won 1 fight of their 5 in the UFC. Yes they were very convincing but let's throw him a ranked fighter before we put him on the rankings.

Maybe he won't be in the future. But now? Yeah. How jeremy stephens can be top 10 with a losing record in the UFC but a guy who has been hit 2 times in 2 fights isnt top 15 baffles me.

Beating fighters convincingly is great but you have to look at the talent before seeing if they are worthy of being ranked. Jeremy Stephens fights killers. His last loses are against Kattar, Yair, Zabit, and Aldo. Again, Chimaev fought a debuting fighter and someone who’s won 1 fight out of his 5 in the UFC. You also need to look at your weight classes because Jeremy Stephens is ranked at 145. Chimaev fought at 170 and 185. You also might not remember this, but Makwan Amirikhani basically did the same thing, just not within 10 days or different weight classes. He received one strike in his first two fights in the UFC and they didn’t rank him either. They gave him more fights and didn’t rank him on “hype”

Would you rank a 4-7 football team top 10? No matter who they played? This dude is the real deal. People can call him hype all they want. Conor McGregor rode hype to 2 world titles. I'm not saying hes title ready, but you think Usman wants to fight this guy? You can only beat the guy that signs the contract.

Your analogy doesn't work with comparing football teams to MMA fighters. Either way, the point I'm trying to get across is that Chimaev needs to fight better competition before cracking the ranks. Beating a 1 for 5 fighter and a debuting fighter. "I don't think he's title ready but Kamaru Usman isn't going to want to fight him" boi you are riding that hype hard. Do you really think Chimaev is going to have the same type of performance against Anthony Pettis, Neil Magny, or Robbie Lawler (ranked 15,14, and 13)? Probably not.

He would pressure and ragdoll those guys. That is literally the blueprint to beating Pettis. Pettis is a very favorable matchup for him, and I believe Lawler is done.

Boring card with fairly bad fights. Glad Calderwood lost, she deserves a title shot as much as my grandma does.
