After sleeping on it, I have to say, I am sick and tired of mma judges. I have always been a " dont leave it up to judges interpretation" type of guy. Nobody can say you lost if they other is unconscious.
I thought Reyes beat Jones, but at 2nd watching I can see how Jones won. He was much more accurate all night. And neither guy got hurt.
I still know Paul Felder beat Dan Hooker. And I'm confident Joanna won that belt last night. If Zhang won, she won on the impact of her power shots. Joanna landed more and at a better clip all night. So how do you judge that fight for the power puncher and turn around and judge the very next fight so differently? Yoel landed the power shots.
I'm not saying yoel should have won at all. But the inconsistency is infuriating. We need standardized scoring. We need more info into what "effective striking" is. Is it accurate? Is it power? Is it just winging limbs at your opponent? And the judges need to be held accountable. If they cant defend their score card convincingly, have them removed from the judging pool. If they break tendency, remove them. For instance if they go with scoring takedowns heavy all the time and then one night a guy gets 4 takedowns and they overlook it, remove that ass.
Just an angry rant a fan that feels a little defeated this morning.

Brian Ortega slapped CS Jung's translator over comments Jung made on Ariel Helwani's show and did it when Jung was in the bathroom. What a b!+c# move.

I hate to be that guy, I do...but this is becoming a pile of horseshit. With word today that we are expected to be dealing with this THROUGH THE SUMMER, we cannot keep pausing life. I get it. But I'm over it.

Dana white is still determined to hold UFC 249. Also, the MMA gym industry might change after all this since they are an obvious breeding ground for CV19 infections

UFC fighter Jon "Bones" Jones, best known for being the current UFC light heavyweight champion, was arrested Thursday morning in Albuquerque, New Mexico for a suspected Driving While Intoxicated charge.
An Albuquerque Police Department officer pulled up behind Jones' car after hearing a gunshot in the area at around 1 a.m., according to police records. The officer found a quarter-full open bottle of alcohol in the car, the report said. The reporting officer also found a loaded handgun beneath the driver's seat and a spent bullet casing in and around the vehicle, according to the report. "As part of the investigation into this incident, our Gun Violence Reduction Unit will test the firearm and bullet casing to determine whether the gun has been used in any crimes," said Gilbert Gallegos, a spokesman for the Albuquerque Police Department. "Reducing gun violence in Albuquerque is our top priority." The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has been made aware of the situation, the organization told CNN in a statement. It has been in contact with Jones' management team and "is currently gathering additional information," it said. Jones' management team did not immediately respond to CNN's request for comment. This isn't the first time Jones has run into issues with the police. In 2015, Jones was stripped of his light heavyweight title and suspended indefinitely from the UFC after he plead guilty to a hit-and-run, for which he was put on probation. He was reinstated to the UFC later that year. Last year, he was charged with battery after allegedly assaulting a cocktail waitress in a strip club, slapping her in her genital area and putting her in a chokehold. He took a plea deal in October.

Looking back at the UFC 249 card, how the f*** are you gonna have Cowboy Cerrone, Fabricio Werdum, Michelle Waterson and Jacare Souza in the prelims, but Greg Hardy makes the main PPV card? Kinda s*** is that

Kinda s*** is that I think cerrone, pettis, jacare are basically done. Werdum is coming back after a looooonnnng time away, and Dana flat appears to not like waterson. Hardy is the most worthy of his time because he has the most potential return at this point sadly. Plus people still tune in hoping he gets starched.

Don’t forget that prelims on ESPN is not an insult, especially at this time with very little competition on air. The prelims are going to draw huge numbers. Lots of eyes on these guys.
