Looking forward to seeing Rizin LHW Champion Jiri Prochazka's debut, but he should be fighting Rogerio Nogueira instead of having Nogueira/Shogun III. Also, Mike Perry is a maniac and KOd a fat, old guy at a restaurant in Texas. Looked good. Put him vs. Thiago Santos.

Amanda Ribas is gonna be the first real challenge to Shevchenko in another year or so, if she stays at 125. You could make a good arguement she should be favored over anyone else in that division.

I strongly disagree with that one.
This is what I hate. Rose won purely on volume striking. None of her strikes hurt a toddler. But max lost despite having more strikes and and more impact strikes.
You have to be consistent.

Usman sucks. Hes a bunch of words that would get me banned. Foot stomps and shoulder rolls. Big tough guy.

All I can hear in my head right now is herm Edwards going "hello! You play to win the game!" I love that clip lol. Usman did exactly what he needed to do. Wasn't flashy but Masvidal had no answer and it left no doubt in judges minds.
Holloway fight was close. There have been a lot more controversial judge calls than that one. I had Holloway 3-2 I can at least see how they could have scored it different, which is more than I can say for some other fights this year.

I could accept usman winning like that if he came out and said he fought like that because he didnt want the hands, that he knows he cant handle them.
But hes PROUD of fighting like that. I can guarantee at some point when he fights the the next hot striker he will rag about outstriking masvidal 3 to 1 like he worked him.
150 toe stomps and 95 shoulder rolls. Out here looking like the reject member of a boy band.

Usman won the fight by a large margin, why wouldn't he be proud of that? Isn't that the goal of fighting? I don't really care about Usman one way or another, once he got rid of Colby he'd served his purpose for me. Masvidal got a really good payday, took very little damage really, which for taking a fight on a week's notice is kind of the best possible outcome outside of an early finish win. Don't think it really makes Masvidal look that bad. He couldn't finish him early, got gassed, and couldn't find a way to deal with what Usman was doing. He's still got fights that can draw in the future, and if Usman does start talking like that, then he's pretty much writing the paycheck for the rematch, where both guys can go in off full camps and make really good money. I don't particularly like that UFC has become a promo based fighting sport, where you have to have a character to draw, but unfortunately that's where it's at.

Usman is that guy that started fights in school but didnt do anything, just tackled you and waited for teachers to break it up. There should be zero pride in that. You dont get to spend a week saying you're gonna take the bmf belt from Jorge and fight like THAT. You dont get to constantly tell everyone you're a problem and then stomp feet for 25 minutes. I like Jorge and was hoping he would win, but I was sad when burns got scratched. Usman wont be able to wrestle him. That bjj gonna be the difference there.

Lol well it's pretty clear you just really don't like Usman. That's quite alright, I get just as worked up whenever Colby opens his mouth about literally anything. He could say hello to me and I'd tell him to eff himself. I could give two craps about Usman either way, I didn't really want him to win either, but I can't really fault the guy for doing what's necessary to win. Nunes had a fight recently that was really similar. It was like watching paint dry, but her opponent (I can't even remember who it was, but it doesn't really matter she's in a class of her own in that division anyways) could do literally nothing about it so why wouldn't she. You get paid more for winning so win however you can. Ultimately it was clear Masvidal had no way to deal with it and it left literally zero doubt in the judges minds who was winning.

I’m disappointed Masvidal lost. I would have lost my mind if that flying knee attempt at the end of round 5 connected and knocked out Usman. Regardless, he still put up a great fight and didn’t lose any credibility as a top guy. Maybe he can run it back with Diaz and also fight Edwards to get back into the conversation for another title shot. I’m not particularly interested in seeing him fight Colby but I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens, given their history and the fact that they obviously both lost to Usman.

I’m not particularly interested in seeing him fight Colby but I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens, given their history and the fact that they obviously both lost to Usman. I hope they don't run it back with Nate Diaz. There's nothing left with that fight. I went back and re-watched it afterwards and Nate was getting decisively beaten. ------------------------- UFC gonna be in kind of a pickle with booking the Welterweight division now. You've got Gilbert Burns who beat #1 ranked Tyron Woodley and you could say he's earned his title shot. But you could also say Tyron Woodley didn't fight like a #1 ranked fighter in his past 2 fights and so there's a slight argument there. Then you've got Leon Edwards, who is trying to claim that he's next up because he was supposed to have that #1 ranked fight against Woodley before COVID locked him in London. If I was the UFC, I'd book these two to fight each other as a #1 contendership fight. Get Edwards his #1 contender fight that he lost because of COVID, and get Gilbert another fight after recovering from COVID himself. Someone gets another win under their belt to make it look even better going into a fight against Kamaru Usman. Then we've got the next 2 ranked fighters (other than Masvidal) in Tyron Woodley and Colby Covington. The fight pretty much sells itself with the past history. Whoever wins this fight will be back in the win column with a win over a top 5 fighter, and can be marketed either as the next up for the champ after Burns/Edwards, or they could get the winner one more fight. As the UFC, I'd hope that Covington wins that fight because that's when you bring in Jorge Masvidal. Jorge knows his worth, he isn't going to be fighting on any low level cards and with rumors of the PPV doing 1.3M buys, we know Jorge's a draw. Put Masvidal vs Covington as a non-title main event ala Mcgregor/Cowboy and Silva/Diaz. You've got the back story with that too. Winner goes on to face the champ, of course. I honestly can't see them doing that with Masvidal vs Woodley tho, as Masvidal stated he really doesn't want to fight Woodley, but he would if it was for the title. They are just too friendly with each other I guess, but if the money was right, I guess. If Woodley was to beat Covington, I honestly say you put him with Michael Chiesa. Get him one more fight after that, and if he has 2 wins then he's got a better chance at going for his rematch with Usman or whoever is the champ. You could still also make that Masvidal vs Covington fight in a world where Woodley wins, as there's still beef between the two, but a Colby losing 2 in a row isn't getting a main event non-title fight with Masvidal, so I don't think it'd happen. But I don't think my plans really gonna work out well, as I don't see Tyron Woodley coming back and fighting again. I just have that feeling he's going to retire.
