Hello, so I wanted to share my awesome experience today at Icons Collectorfest in Philly. We (me, my wife & my son who’s 9) arrived about 8:20 and waited for the doors to open. Obviously this is silly stuff that none of you care about so I’ll get to the good details. after doors opened first person, er people, we met was Demoltion. They were very nice and really cool. They were waiting for their handler so we had to wait for him so we chatted a bit about life and where they were from. after meeting them we started to head towards the Sting make-up photo-op. Walking that way and I get behind this monstrous human in a Ryback shirt. Well it was the Big Guy himself. Having a ticket for him I figured might as well wait that out and then head to Sting. He came up shook hands with his helpers/handlers and took out some merch he was selling, set it on the table and we were first in line. He was awesome and spent most of the time talking to my son about eating. After that we headed to Sting. Sting came out at a prompt 10:30 in full gear and ready to go. I ended up being 10th in line for him. We got up to him and he was very nice. my son asked what it was like wrestling with/against hall & nash and Sting respond that it was very fun and he missed it. after that we headed to get in line for Bret Hart. Bret wound up showing up late so while in line I made friends and chatted with the people around me. All insisted that I hoped out when I said I had tix for Matt Hardy, Harlem Heat and Raven. First i just hopped to Matt Hardy who was awesome and very nice. My son asked if he like having ladder matches against Edge & Chrsitian and he said oh yeah they were fun. Then we hoped out again to meet Harlem Heat. Stevie Ray was very nice but, my son was wearing a john cena shirt, he felt the need to tell my son how his big hand can lay a whopping on cena. very strange but eh whatever. after that Booker T came up and was talking to my son about being in the Royal Rumble and other things. I told him how I enjoy him on the Network in the pre-show segments and he expressed great thanks. We went back to my wife who was still waiting in Brets line. Finally Brets line started moving. We finally got up to him and I skidded out. Brets my favorite wrestler. The first match I ever watched was the 5v5 @ Canadian Stampede. Bret first said hello, asked our names and shook our hands. he then thanked us for waiting and for coming out. he asked my son if he like Cena and then told him how Cenas a great guy and a good wrestler. I told him how CS was my first match and he then started talking a bit about the match and how many legends and great wrestlers were involved. My son then told him that he wants to be a wrestler. Bret told him to watch lots of footage and train hard and hoped him the best. He then said I hope you do so someday I can say I remember when I met ____ ( my sons name) in Philly when he was a kid. we said goodbye and went on to look around the convention. on our way out we decided to go see the Nasty Boys. They were very nice but a bit preoccupied talking to Tatanka who was on his way out the door, that I unfortunately missed. All and all it was a great day and I’m very happy and exhausted… thanks for reading heres some pics below.

I was the one who told that other guy he was going to make it hard for you to make it up to your wife for waiting in line with you. Filipino guy in white Tshirt. Small world.

So rather than create my own thread, figured I'd add my report from Philly. Not much more to add, but do have 1 or 2 interesting stories. Although a Floridian, I have work coming up in Philly this week, so I and my girlfriend decided to spend the weekend in NYC. We got a car service to take us to the 2300 arena and arrived at 9:30. After getting inside, I went ahead and got my tickets for the Sting VIP and then the Bret Hart photo op and autograph tickets. From there, I went to see Sting. Because of the VIP pass, I was moved to the very front of the line, which means I was the first to meet the Icon Sting. We talked briefly as he signed something from each era of his career (Mattel DM GAB Sting, WCW Magazine featuring Surfer Sting as WCW Number 1 Wrestler, DM Crow Sting, nWo Wolfpac Shirt, WCW Gold Belt Replica, and Mattel Elite Sting from Raw Debut). We then took a pic, and he placed me in a headlock at my request. It was rather cool even though he was smiling as he had me in the headlock. I guess he knew I couldn't escape and I'd be easy pickings in teh ring. From there, I went in line to meet Bret Hart. I was behind some guy who I now know to be mosetter. Again, small world. I struck up conversations with those around me and periodically ducked out while either my girlfriend or the two guys behind me saved my spot. Sometimes it was to get water as the Arena was hotter than hot with all the bodies around. I then saw Raven and Justin Credible standing by their table. I had always had major respect for Raven. Loved his WCW work. I didn't want to approach because I'd have felt guilty not getting anything from Justin Credible since I wasn't a big ECW fan, but when I saw that Justin leave, I told my girlfriend to save my spot and went over and with my extra spending money to speak with Raven and get an autograph. What followed was hilarious to me. I wore a white t-shirt that had images of various cameras on it. After I tell Raven how I was a big fan of his work, he looks me up and down and then asks what's my background. I said Filipino. He then said, if you had said Japanese, I'd have said you're playing to your stereotype. I responded by saying, true but I figure being Asian is close enough. He laughed. THen turned to Joey Styles and said, "Joey, look at this guy's shirt. He's living the gimmick." And Joey said "What is he a photographer?" Raven replied: "No. Asian." Joey died. I then spoke to Joey for a little bit about wanting to pursue a career in announcing and was told that if I did, be prepared to hate wrestling in the end. It is a career that will cause you to hate the thing you love. So I'm done with that idea lol. From there, I waited another hour in line for Bret before it finally started moving. For those wanting to know how long, I got in line at 1045am. It didn't move until 1pm. THe Bret Hart VIPs seemed to be eBay sellers. I swear I saw one guy get 5 Winged Eagle Replica Belts signed, 5 Slammys, 8x10s, and DM Figures signed. That was just one guy. And it looked like he had more duffle bags to open. After getting Bret's autograph for my friend (Yes. I spent nearly 3 hours in line to get my friend an autograph), I departed. WHile waiting for the car service, I saw Barry Darsow waiting outside. I think he knew my girlfriend and I were talking about him because he kept eyeballing us. I was telling her who he was, and she was telling me to talk to him. I said, I would but I don't know if he wants to be bothered, plus I'd feel bad not giving him anything as I was out of cash. Well, as my car pulled up, Darsow said "Is that an Uber?" to me. I turned aroud and said, "No. Just a car service." I then turned around, walked to him, and said "I loved your work as Demolition," and shook his hand while he said "Thanks! Glad to meet you!." Wish I could have had a pic with him, but I literally just went to see Sting, and was not expecting to use any money at the event. Overall, it was fun. I got to get some cool photos of the Icon, and now only have to meet AJ Styles, the Outsiders, KO, Becky Lynch, and Bill Murray--who is tending bar in Brooklyn but I can't go out since I have to start prepping for work .

I'll add my own experience to this thread as well.
I ended up down at the arena a few minutes after the doors opened at 0900 (Funny side note: I ended up parking next to Tatanka) and the initial line to get in moved pretty quickly. Good so far. I made my way in and headed over to the Bret Hart ticket line. I was only there for Bret. He was the reason I got into wrestling and I've wanted to meet him since I was a little kid.
The ticket line took about 20-30 minutes. No big deal. I bought my autograph ticket and the girl said come back here to this table for the signing from 1100-1400. Good deal. I meandered around for a little bit because it was only 1000. I talked to Dreamer for a minute, got a fist bump from Ryback and then shot the crap with Joey Styles for a little while. I popped out to have a smoke and grab a drink and then went back in. Ok, it's about 1030 now. I'll join the line. I'm standing there for a while beside the tables of Cameron and Hornswoggle and Torito.
Now it's 1100...still nothing...finally word trickled down that Bret's not there yet. Ok, no big deal.
Bret makes his way in at 1127. Ok, still good. But now, they're going up and down the line looking for the VIPS. I'm wondering why you wouldn't just automatically head to the front of the line if you paid all that money for a VIP ticket...but whatever. So, it's still slow going.
I was next to Matt Hardy, Reby Sky, and Senor Benjamin's table for over an hour. I swear to God, I saw Matt's face when I closed my eyes to go to sleep that night.
The VIPs seemed to all have luggage full of crap for him to sign. I heard one of the dealers we were standing in front of bitching to another of the dealers (Roadkill) that they hadn't been warned that Bret's line was going to be running down their side of the room, cutting off their tables from the rest of the room. I thought that was kind of a dick move if he wasn't informed of that beforehand.
Anyhoo, I finally made it to Bret about a quarter after one and he was very nice. He thanked me for coming out and for waiting and he was funny too. I said he was the one that got me into wrestling thirty years ago and he said "whoa, hey, don't go blaming me now" with a crap-eating grin on his face.
Day made!

I'll post my photos once I get back to Florida but I'm just trying to figure out if I met you too lol. 3) I can confirm that the VIPs had bags of stuff. One guy had many winged eagle belts. Now I feel bad. I'm hoping people didn't think I was going to eBay my sting stuff. I just really am a huge mark for him and wanted PMs of my stuff signed. They all have my name on them. "To Rob. Sting"

I had to do a double take myself. 2) It's possible...but I wasn't feeling all that super yesterday so I kind of kept to myself. 3) I guess I'm of the mind that the VIP signings should have been done at a different time. I really think they underestimated the turnout for Bret and kind of overestimated it for Sting. I wouldn't sweat it. Sure, there were probably flippers there...but I know some people have large collections of just one superstar. No big deal. I think that if the VIP signings were handled differently, there wouldn't have been any grumbling at all.

It's essentially a giant baseball card show.... This year, they had Hogan & Flair..... as well as Mike Tyson, Joe Namath, & tons of sports celebs..... You might want to check that out when they start announcing talent!
