Wrestlemania IX Pre-Show
Gene Okerlund: “Welcome everybody to Caesars Palace. The home of Wrestlemania IX which takes place in less than hour. Just a reminder to everybody watching this live on USA Network you just have time to call your local provider and order Wrestlemania IX.”
*Wrestlemania IX promo airs and it features the two big matches. The Mega Maniacs going against Money Inc. Bret Hart defending the WWF Championship against Yokozuna.*
Gene Okerlund: “Shawn Michaels will have a tough task here tonight. He will be defending his WWF Intercontinental Championship against the undefeated Tatanka. These two are no strangers in the ring. Let’s take a look from the February 13th edition of WWF Superstars of Wrestling.”
*Footage shows reversing the Superkick and giving Shawn Michaels his finish, The End of the Trail.*
Gene Okerlund: “That very well could happen again tonight, but I can confirm that Sensational Sherri will be in the corner of Tatanka stemming from the actions of Michaels at the Royal Rumble. Sherri is looking for revenge just like The Big Hawaiian, Crush. The Evil Clown, Doink has been pulling some pranks on WWF Superstars and even the fans. Leading into the Royal Rumble, Crush suffered an injury due to Doink attacking him with a prosthetic arm from his sling. Crush is back and Doink is promising to pull the biggest prank of them all on Crush. Here are some words from Crush.”
Crush: “A few months ago you gave me a concussion that almost ended my career. I’ve been watching you making all those kids cry. That is why tonight I’m going to crush you brother!”
Gene Okerlund: “That is some big words from Crush. I would hate to be Doink tonight. That would also go for Money Incorporated. This all goes back to the miraculous return of Brutus Beefcake from a parasailing accident. Brutus Beefcake’s return was cut short after a match against Ted DiBiase this happened.”

Gene Okerlund: “Jimmy Hart tried to call off the attack but he was unsuccessful. Now he will be managing the Mega Maniacs, Hulk Hogan has returned to help out his friend, Brutus Beefcake. He gave him a little present a few weeks ago at Wrestling Challenge.”
Gene Okerlund: “Hulk Hogan is in the arena and cleared to compete after a little incident last night at the hotel. Where two masked men attacked Hogan giving him a black eye he will be sporting tonight. He will still be wearing the red and yellow so Money Inc better watch out because Hogan and Beefcake are looking to go home with the gold. Now let’s take a look at the other big matches taking place here tonight.”
*They show The Headshrinkers and The Steiner Brothers graphic followed by Razor/Backlund then Mr. Perfect and Lex Luger. They show a graphic with The Undertaker and Giant Gonzalez.*
Gene Okerlund: “The Undertaker will be in for his gravest challenge to date against the 8 foot tall, Giant Gonzalez. Harvey Wippleman may have found the man that can defeat The Undertaker. President Jack Tunney earlier said this match will be a No Disqualification Match. These two behemoths will be going at each other and nothing is off limits. Let’s hear what Harvey Wippleman has to say about this change.”
Harvey Wippleman: “Well Undertaker you are right about one thing. There will be a burial at Wrestlemania. It will be yours.”
Giant Gonzalez: “Rest in Peace! Undertaker!”
Gene Okerlund: “Very ominous words by Giant Gonzalez. Let’s talk about some ominous actions. A few days ago on Wrestling Challenge there was a contract signing that I was a part of for the big main event. The Mighty Yokozuna didn’t take his eyes of the Champion, Bret Hart. Once the documents were signed, Yokozuna using his size to move the table into Bret Hart delivered a Bonzai Drop after a huge splash in the corner. Bret Hart was able to stand on his own two feet, but if that happens tonight. I’m afraid to say we will have a new World Wrestling Federation World Champion in Yokozuna. The time is finally upon us. We will go to Caesars Palace where we have our USA Network exclusive pre-show match. El Matador will be facing the Sinister Papa Shango. Let’s take it down to our broadcasters for the evening, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan, Gorilla Monsoon, and making his debut Jim Ross.”
Pre-Show Match – Papa Shango vs. El MatadorPapa Shango and El Matador lock up to start the match up. Shango overpowers El Matador and takes him to the corner. Shango throws a closed fist punch which leads the ref to back him off. Shango steps back until El Matador crawls from the corner. Shango goes over with a boot to the face before he bends over grabbing at El Matador’s hair. Shango lifts him up and whips him into the ropes. Shango bends over but El Matador leap frogs and grabs Shango for a sunset flip. Shango is teetering trying to stand on his feet. Shango regains his balance and bends down to throws a punch. Shango hits the ropes and splashes El Matador going right into a pin. El Matador kicks out at 2. Shango gets up and hits the ropes for a second splash. El Matador rolls out of the way and starts to crawl to the corner. Papa Shango makes it up to his feet and rushes at El Matador in the corner. El Matador jumps out of the way. El Matador starts throwing a set of haymakers at the big Shango. El Matador hits the ropes and leaps at Shango, but Shango catches El Matador locking in a bearhug. Shango uses this time to regroup before driving El Matador back first into the top turnbuckle. Shango then picks up El Matador for the Spellbinder. El Matador starts to struggle and slips out the back. El Matador hits the ropes when Shango turns around. El Matador hits the El Paso del Muerte on Papa Shango and goes right for the pin gaining the victory.
El Matador defeats Papa Shango (8:14)Opening Contest – WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Michaels vs. Tatanka w/SherriTatanka and Michaels lock up and Tatanka throws Michaels to the mat. Michaels gets up with a frustrated look on his face. He rushes and locks up with Tatanka again. Michaels goes behind with a waist lock. Tatanka grabs Michaels’ grip and pulls his hands apart. He bends down and tosses Michaels over his head to the mat. Michaels is frustrated again and this times walks up to Tatanka. Michaels slaps Tatanka and then rushes to the corner. Tatanka is in pursuit until the ref steps in between. Michaels has his head out of the ring so the ref will keep Tatanka away. Tatanka finally moves back and Michaels comes out of the corner. Tatanka runs at Michaels who takes him down with a drop toe hold into a side headlock on the mat. Michaels has it locked in tight but Tatanka is up to one knee and then back up on both feet. He lifts Michaels up for an atomic drop and Michaels hops up and over the top rope to the outside. Michaels hits the floor with his fist and walks over and grabs the IC titles as the ref starts his count. Tatanka quickly exits the ring and starts to chase Michaels. He throws the belt down and enters the ring. When Tatanka enters Michaels delivers a boot to the back. He then hits a double axe handle over the back of the Native American. He picks up Tatanka and lifts him up for a suplex. Michaels goes for the quick cover and Tatanka kicks out at 1. Michaels yells at Tatanka and then kicks him in the face. Michaels goes up to the second rope and comes off with a knee to the skull. Michaels goes for another cover and Tatanka kicks out at 1 again. Michaels then climbs to the top rope as Tatanka is making his way to his feet. Michaels comes off with a double axe handle and Tatanka catches him with a strike to the midsection that causes him to flip upon impact. Michaels is up and Tatanka whips him into the corner. Michaels springs off the second turnbuckle with a back elbow. Both men are down and Michaels is reaching his feet first. Tatanka is on one knee. Michaels runs and Tatanka pops up and catches him with a scoop slam to the mat. Tatanka goes for the cover but Michaels rolls out of the ring. Tatanka rolls out after him. Tatanka grabs Michaels and throws him back into the ring. Tatanka enters the ring and follows Michaels who is crawling towards the corner. Michaels grabs Tatanka by his tights and pulls him into the second turnbuckle. Michaels gets up quickly and takes advantage by kicking Tatanka while down in the corner. Tatanka crawls out into the middle of the ring. Michaels still keeps striking Tatanka with a series of kicks and punches. Tatanka is not phased as he gets to his feet. He starts to skip and Michaels throws a punch but it’s blocked. Tatanka fires back with a chop which stuns Michaels. Tatanka skips and then hits the ropes and delivers a Tomahawk Chop to the skull of Michaels. Tatanka covers Michaels. Michaels kicks out at the last second and Tatanka is stunned. Tatanka picks up Michaels and whips him into the ropes. Tatanka lifts him up for The End of the Trail. Michaels wraps his arms and legs around Tatanka’s arm turning it in to a crucifix pin attempt. Tatanka kicks out at 2. Both men are up pretty quickly. Michaels chops Tatanka and then Tatanka returns the favor sending Michaels back and hits the ropes firing back with a clothesline that sends both men down. Shawn Michaels kips up and motions for Tatanka to bring it. Tatanka gets to his feet and turns around just to be met with a Superkick. Michaels covers Tatanka and he kicks out at 2 and three quarters. Michaels is complaining to the ref as Tatanka starts to stir. Michaels grabs Tatanka by the hair and whips him into the ropes. Michaels drops down for back body drop but Tatanka grabs Michaels and delivers a DDT. Tatanka pops up and starts skipping around the ring signaling for the end. Tatanka climbs to the top rope as Michaels starts to get up. Tatanka comes down with a Tomahawk Chop to the skull. Michaels just stands there stunned and Tatanka steps back. Michaels then runs at Tatanka and falls down. Tatanka jumps on him for the cover. The ref goes to count the three but Michaels’ leg is on the bottom rope. The ref calls the pin off. Tatanka stands back and gets ready to hit the End of the Trail. When a women from the crowd jumps the guard rail and attacks Sherri. Security pulls the women off of Sherri but Tatanka is distracted. Tatanka turns around and catches Michaels running at him. He lifts him up for The End of the Trail. Michaels slips out from behind. Tatanka turns around to get blasted with a Superkick. Michaels collapses on Tatanka for the cover. The ref counts to three.
Shawn Michaels defeats Tatanka to retain the WWF IC Title (17:47)
Shawn Michaels is given the title and he celebrates the big victory. This is Tatanka’s first ever pin fall loss in the WWF. Shawn Michaels walks out with the title. Tatanka gets up and checks on Sherri and helps her to the back after her attack.
Gene Okerlund: “Tatanka has finally suffered his first pin fall defeat in the World Wrestling Federation at the hands of the Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Michaels. I’m being told the identity of the women was none other than Luna Vachon. We hope to find out why and if she is involved with the Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Michaels.”
*Razor Ramon appears on the screen.*
Razor Ramon: “Everybody listen to me. I am Razor Ramon. The Bad Guy. Wrestlemania 9 is tonight. Caesars Palace is ready to see who I will carve up next. WWF officials have given me Bob Backlund. Former World Champion. Well Backlund you are the past and tonight you will look at the future.”
Match 2 – Razor Ramon vs. Bob BacklundThe match starts out with a lockup. Backlund goes low with a waist lock. Then into a roll up. Razor kicks out at 1. Backlund runs at Razor and is caught with a boot to the gut. Razor turns around to deliver a discus punch to send Backlund to the mat. Razor picks up Backlund and grabs him from behind. He picks him up for a back body slam. Razor starts to taunt Backlund. Backlund from the ground spins and takes Razor down with a leg sweep. Backlund is up quickly and puts a headlock on Razor. Razor quickly gets to his feet and pushes Backlund off into the ropes. Backlund comes back and is met with a vicious clothesline. Razor picks up Backlund and picks him up in the Razor’s Edge. He drops him and covers him for the victory.
Razor Ramon defeats Bob Backlund (4:19)Gene Okerlund: “What an impressive victory for The Bad Guy making his Wrestlemania debut. Now let’s send you to Paul Bearer and The Undertaker.”
Paul Bearer: “Oh yes! Tonight my Undertaker will gain revenge on the mighty Giant Gonzalez. There are no rules. Nothing can save you tonight.”
The Undertaker: “Vengeance is mine. Giant Gonzalez. You will Rest in Peace.”
Match 3 – The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer vs. Giant Gonzalez w/Harvey Wippleman
Giant Gonzalez is in the ring when The Undertaker’s music hits. A chariot comes out with vulture perched being led out by Paul Bearer carrying the urn. The Giant Gonzalez is just watching from the ring not intimidated at all. The Undertaker steps off and enters the ring. They stare down and the bell rings.
The Undertaker delivers the first blow with a throat thrust. Giant Gonzalez fires back with headbutt that sends The Undertaker back to the ropes. Giant Gonzalez comes at The Undertaker and grabs him by the throat choking him. The ref is powerless but The Undertaker grabs Giant Gonzalez by the throat. Both men release and The Undertaker fires off three shots to the throat of Gonzalez. Undertaker hits the ropes and comes in with a clothesline that almost takes him off his feet. Undertaker hits the ropes again and Gonzalez catches him with an overhead chop. Undertaker hits the mat. Gonzalez puts his foot on the throat of The Undertaker. Harvey Wippleman takes out a rag and a bottle. He pours something on the rag and hands it to Giant Gonzalez. Gonzalez covers his hand with the rag as The Undertaker gets up. Gonzalez puts a clawhold on the face of The Undertaker. The Undertaker fades quickly due to the chloroform on the rag. The Undertaker is down on the mat and Gonzalez still has the hold applied. Paul Bearer confronts Harvey Wippleman on the outside. Gonzalez goes over to the ropes and grabs Bearer by the hair. Wippleman punches Bearer sending him down. He grabs the urn and raises it up in the air. He points for Gonzalez to finish off The Undertaker. Gonzalez turns around and The Undertaker raises up. He turns and looks at Gonzalez who is in shock. The Undertaker gets up. Gonzalez runs at The Undertaker who ducks and clotheslines Gonzalez sending him reeling into the ropes. The Undertaker grabs Gonzalez’s arm and goes to the top rope for Old School. Giant Gonzalez pulls Taker off the top rope and sends him crashing to the mat. Harvey throws the urn to Gonzalez. Gonzalez raises it over his head and goes to hit The Undertaker as he gets up. The Undertaker grabs Gonzalez by the throat. He drops the urn. Harvey tries to crawl into the ring but Paul Bearer grabs him by the leg and pulls him back out. Paul Bearer swings and hits Wippleman with a big right hand. Giant Gonzalez grabs The Undertaker’s arm and pulls it off. Undertaker kicks him in the gut. He drops down to his knees and delivers an uppercut to the throat sending Gonzalez back on the ropes. Undertaker goes to the top rope. He dives off with a clothesline that sends Gonzalez to the mat. Gonzalez is already making his way up and Undertaker picks up the urn. He raises it up and then smashes it across the face of The Giant Gonzalez. The Undertaker goes for the cover and gets the victory.

Mr. Perfect: “Luger thinks he is perfect. And I am what I am, and I say, I’m absolutely perfect!
Match 4 – Mr. Perfect vs. Lex Luger
Mr. Perfect and Lex Luger lock up with Luger gaining the advantage with his strength. He pushes Mr. Perfect to the corner, but Mr. Perfect goes behind and smacks Luger in the back of the head. Luger turns around is looks upset. He charges Mr. Perfect who takes Luger down with a drop toe hold. Then he pops back up and poses as the crowd cheers. Luger is back up and they lock up with Luger throwing Perfect down. Luger flexes his muscles at Perfect. They lock up again and Luger pushes Perfect into the corner. Luger throws an elbow to the face of Perfect. He then grabs Perfect and whips him into the opposite corner. Luger charges in with a clothesline in the corner. Perfect falls to the mat. Luger grabs Perfect by the hair and tosses him across the ring. The ref scolds Luger for grabbing the hair. Luger picks up Perfect and slams him to the mat. Perfect turns over and Luger drops an elbow to the back. He stands over Perfect and puts his knee on his back. He applies a chinlock to Perfect. Luger is doing a ton of damage to the back of Perfect. Luger releases the hold and goes for another elbow drop but Perfect rolls out of the way. Luger and Perfect are both back up but Luger grabs Perfect first and whips him into the ropes. Luger bends over and Perfect hits a sunset flip for a pin. Luger kicks out at 1. Luger is back up and goes for a clothesline but Perfect ducks and grabs Luger by the tights for a school boy roll up. Luger kicks out at 1 again. Luger runs up to Perfect and is met with a slap in the face. Luger throws a punch and Perfect grabs him from behind after dodging. Perfect picks him up and hits the belly to back suplex. Luger is using the ropes to get up and Perfect aims from behind. Perfect comes up and kicks the leg out from under Luger. Perfect drapes the left leg of Luger over the bottom rope. Perfect stomps on the knee. The ref backs him away. Luger crawls out from the ropes. Perfect goes over and grabs the left leg and kicks the back of the knee. Perfect pulls Luger over to the corner by his legs and catapults him into the top turnbuckle pad. Luger is back on the ground and Perfect is already grabbing that leg again. He locks in a standing knee bar. Luger is in pain and Perfect releases it by hitting a knee bar drop. Luger is trying to get up using the ropes. Perfect grabs Luger and does a snapmare takedown. Perfect steps back and hits a running neck twist. Perfect goes for the cover. Luger kicks out at 2. Perfect grabs the left leg and Luger kicks Perfect in the head with the right. Luger is using the ropes to get up. Perfect runs at Luger and gets caught with a tilt a whirl backbreaker. Luger goes straight for the cover. Perfect kicks out at 2. Luger is motioning that it’s over. Perfect is slow to get up. Luger grabs him up and locks in the torture rack. Luger’s leg gives out and Perfect is able to get out quickly. Perfect clips him in the back of the leg. Perfect grabs Luger’s leg and locks in a Figure Four. Luger is in pain and there is no ropes nearby. Luger comes close to tapping but uses his strength to flip over. Perfect releases quickly. Perfect and Luger are both using the ropes to get up. Perfect walks over and grabs Luger for the Perfectplex. Perfect can’t get him up due to the damage taken to his back. Luger flips Perfect with a back body drop. Luger falls to one knee after it. Luger hits the ropes and goes for a forearm smash. Perfect ducks and Luger rebounds off the ropes. Perfect catches Luger with an arm drag. Luger crawls to the ropes. Perfect comes in for a splash but Luger pulls the ref in front of him. The ref goes down. Luger comes at Perfect and Perfect kicks him in the gut then hits the Perfectplex. The ref is still down and Perfect releases the pin. He tries to get the ref up. Luger is making his way back up. Perfect turns around and Luger hits him with a forearm. Luger covers Perfect. The ref crawls over and makes the three count.

Match 5 – The Headshrinkers w/Afa vs. The Steiner Brothers
Scott Steiner and Fatu start out the match. Scott goes an arm drag takedown and Fatu is right back up. Fatu pushes Scott and he comes back by picking up and driving Fatu down. Scott goes right into an armbar. Fatu uses his size and power to get out after a punch. They trade punches and Fatu gets Scott in the Headshrinker corner. They double team Scott and Rick enters. The ref gets him back outside as The Headshrinkers take advantage. Fatu tags in Samu. Samu whips Fatu into Scott for a big splash. Samu grabs Scott by the hair and hits a spinning kick to the face. Samu goes for a falling headbutt on Scott and goes for the cover. Scott kicks out at 2. Samu lifts up Scott and he punches Samu and turns around with one for Fatu. Scott starts to crawl to the corner. Samu grabs the leg of Scott and he hits an enzuigiri. Scott leaps up and tags in Rick. Rick comes in with a shoulder block on Samu and hits Fatu. Rick whips Samu into the ropes and fires a clothesline. Fatu runs in and Rick delivers a clothesline to him sending him over the top rope. Rick turns around and lifts Samu over the top rope as well. Rick follows Samu out. The ref is distracted trying to get Fatu away. Afa comes from behind and hits Rick in the back with his stick. Fatu and Samu throws Rick into the ring. They both enter and deliver a double headbutt to Rick. Scott tries to get in but the ref stops him. Samu tags in Fatu. Fatu goes to the top rope and dives off. Rick dodges and crawls to the corner. Scott comes in and grabs Fatu and hits a belly to belly. Samu is in now and Scott hits another belly to belly suplex. Scott turns around and gets kicked in the face by Fatu. Rick comes in and is hit with a kick as well. Fatu and Samu line up both Steiners in the middle of the ring. They climb the top rope and dive off to hit splashes. Fatu lands on Rick, but Scott rolls out of the way. He is back up and throws Samu out. Fatu turns around and Scott hits the Frankensteiner. He makes the cover for the victory.
The Steiner Brothers defeat The Headshrinkers (14:45)
Gene Okerlund: “I’m joined here with the evil Doink the Clown who will be facing Crush here tonight. How do you plan on taking the big Hawaiian down?”
Doink: “Oh Gene. I have everything under control. I just hope Crush’s vision is back to 100 percent after that little bump on the noggin I gave him.”
Gene Okerlund: “What do you mean by that?”
Doink: “You’ll just have to wait and see.”
Match 6 – Crush vs. Doink The Clown
The bell rings and Doink exits the ring quickly as Crush follows. Doink makes a lap before entering the ring. Doink attacks Crush as he slides in. Doink is punching and kicking but Crush is still able to make it to his feet. Doink backs away and begs for forgiveness. Crush has Doink cornered. Crush goes after Doink but the ref backs him off since Doink is in the corner. This allows Doink to poke the eyes of Crush. Doink then runs at Crush and is caught with a back body drop. Crush then picks up Doink for a big body slam. Crush hits the ropes and connects with a leg drop. Crush is motioning for the Kona Clutch. Crush goes to lock it in and Doink runs to the ropes causing the ref to break the hold. Crush releases and then comes running at Doink. He pulls down the top rope and sends Crush to the outside. Doink crawls out to the apron and gets up. He comes off with a double axe handle sending Crush down. Doink grabs Crush and throws him shoulder first into the ring post. Doink rolls into the ring to break the count and is back out. Doink kicks Crush and rams his head on the top of the apron. He finally gets him back in the ring. Doink drops an elbow on Crush followed by a knee smash to the skull. Doink goes up to the top rope for the Whoopie Cushion. Doink comes off but Crush gets his knees up. Doink is in pain as Crush gets up. Crush picks up Doink and spins him around. Then lifts him up in the gorilla press slam sending Doink to the mat. Crush picks up Doink and slams him on the mat. Crush locks in the Kona Clutch when Doink gets up. Doink reaches up and grabs Crush’s head. Doink drops down and hits jawbreaker causing Crush to release the hold. Doink is back up and grabs Crush’s legs. He tries to turn him over for Boston Crab and Crush slings Doink off. Doink bumps the ref and rolls to the outside. The ref is down and Crush is making his way back up. Another Doink comes out from under the ring and hits Crush in the back of the head with a prosthetic arm. The second Doink rolls back out of the ring with the arm and goes back under the ring. Doink is back up and rolls into the ring. Doink grabs the ref and drags him over. Doink covers Crush for the victory.
Doink The Clown defeats Crush (9:51)
Gene Okerlund: “Woah! I don’t know if my eyes deceived me but I thought I saw two Doinks. What a dastardly act by the evil clown. Let’s go to Money Inc who is preparing to defend their titles against The Mega Maniacs.”
Ted DiBiase: “The Mega Maniacs say they are going to bankrupt us. Our supply is limitless. We will show that tonight. Hogan found out this weekend that everybody has a price. And money can get a lot accomplished.”
IRS: “Beefcake I’m looking into it and I will assure you that you will have to pay the taxes on that metal mask of yours. Tonight, I just might have to collect on it. Hogan this briefcase might just get acquainted with your face tonight as well.”
Ted DiBiase: “Maniacs on this is for sure I don’t care who you put in your corner. Even that turncoat Jimmy Hart. Everybody is going to be surprised about what happens tonight, because we will walk out as the World Wrestling Federation World Tag Team Champions.”
Match 7 – WWF World Tag Team Champions Money Inc vs. The Mega Maniacs w/Jimmy Hart
Brutus Beefcake and Ted DiBiase start the match. DiBiase throws a closed fist punch and he grabs his hand from hitting the mask of Beefcake. Beefcake fires back with a punch of his own and whips DiBiase into the ropes. Beefcake drops him with a back elbow. Beefcake starts strutting around the ring and DiBiase retreats to his corner making the tag. IRS comes in and Beefcake catches him and whips him into the ropes. Beefcake hits a back body drop. IRS rolls out of the ring. Ted DiBiase jumps up on the apron and Beefcake goes over and takes a swing. IRS gets Beefcake from behind. IRS sends Beefcake into the Money Inc corner. IRS is putting the boots to Beefcake and tags in DiBiase. DiBiase does a foot choke to Beefcake and breaks at 4. DiBiase tags in IRS. IRS comes in and hits a snapmare on Beefcake right into a reverse chinlock. Hogan is getting the crowd into it. Beefcake is getting energy and gets up pushing IRS into the ropes. Beefcake catches IRS in a Sleeperhold. IRS gets to the Money Inc corner and makes the blind tag. DiBiase comes in and breaks up the hold. DiBiase whips Beefcake into the corner and Beefcake comes out with a clothesline sending both men down. Beefcake crawls to the corner and tags in Hogan. Hogan comes in and DiBiase starts begging Hogan not to hit him. Hogan hits DiBiase with a right hand. IRS runs in and is met with one too. Hogan whips DiBiase into the corner. Then IRS into the same corner. Hogan runs in for a clothesline and both men come out of the corner falling down. IRS rolls out of the ring. Hogan whips DiBiase into the ropes and he goes down to a big boot. Hogan goes for the leg drop, but IRS has grabbed Jimmy Hart. Hogan stops but Beefcake runs around confront IRS. DiBiase rolls up Hogan and the match is over.
Money Inc defeats The Mega Maniacs to retain the WWF World Tag Team Championships (7:34)
Hogan is stunned. Hogan grabs DiBiase and keeps him from exiting the ring. Beefcake throws IRS in. Hogan and Beefcake punch Money Inc and whip them into the ropes. Hogan hits IRS with a big boot. DiBiase gets tossed to the outside. Hogan hits the ropes and drops a leg on IRS. Hogan pushes IRS out of the ring and Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart start to celebrate. Beefcake stands back and removes his mask. Hogan is playing up to the fans and he turns around. Beefcake hits him in the face with his protective mask. Jimmy Hart is stunned. Beefcake grabs Jimmy Hart by the tie and punches him in the face. Beefcake picks up the mask and hits the ropes. He drives that mask into the face of Hogan. Hogan turns over hiding his face after the attack. Beefcake drops the mask by Hogan and storms off. A medical team arrive and they cover up Hogan’s face. They help Hogan to the back and Hogan gives a thumbs up before going behind the curtain.
Gene Okerlund: “What a despicable act by Beefcake turning on his former friend, Hulk Hogan. I hope to catch a word with Beefcake or Hogan later. Now I’m joined by the number one contender to the WWF World Champion, Yokozuna, accompanied by his manager Mr. Fuji. Can you tell me your prediction for tonight’s big match?”
Mr. Fuji: “Yes. Mr. Okerlund. Tonight I predicted the destruction of The Hitman. My Yokozuna will walk out with the gold. Haha! Yokozuna what do you have to say to The Hitman?”
Yokozuna: “Bonzai!”
Match 8 – Kamala w/Slick vs. Bam Bam Bigelow
Bigelow throws a punch at Kamala, but it’s blocked. Kamala starts out with some strikes and chops sending Bigelow to the ropes. Kamala whips Bigelow into the ropes and Kamala hits a shoulder block but Bigelow is still standing. Kamala hits the ropes and another stalemate. Kamala hits the ropes again and Bigelow catches him with an elbow sending Kamala down. Bigelow hits the ropes and splashes Kamala. Bigelow covers Kamala but he kicks out at 2. Bigelow picks up Kamala and goes for a body slam. Kamala blocks it and body slams Bigelow. Kamala starts stomping around and hits the ropes. Bigelow rolls out of the way of the splash. Bigelow climbs to the second rope and comes off with a diving headbutt. Bigelow covers Kamala for the victory.
Bam Bam Bigelow defeats Kamala (4:12)
Gene Okerlund: “I’m joined here by the WWF World Champion, Bret “The Hitman” Hart. One has to think what is on your mind as you prepare to defend against The Mighty Yokozuna.”
Bret Hart: “Well Gene. Yokozuna has been pretty dominate. He earned this right by winning the Royal Rumble. I have a game plan to take him off his feet. If you want to know how just wait and watch. Tonight I will once again prove why I’m the best there is, the best there was, and the best they ever will be.”
Main Event – WWF World Champion Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna w/Mr. Fuji
Yokozuna goes into his sumo position. Bret Hart starts out with a standing missile dropkick sending Yokozuna into the corner. Bret Hart climbs up and starts pound Yokozuna until he throws him to the mat. Bret Hart pops back up and starts throwing rights and lefts at Yokozuna. Yokozuna chops Bret Hart. Hart comes back with a waist lock and backs him into the corner hard. Yokozuna hits the ropes and hits a shoulder block that sends Hart to the outside. Yokozuna kicks at Hart through the ropes but Hart grabs the leg and takes Yokozuna down. His leg is wrapped in the bottom and second ropes. Hart climbs to the top rope and comes off with a fist drop. Hart hits the ropes and does a knee smash. The ref frees Yokozuna and he is back up. Bret Hart hits two clotheslines that have no effect on Yokozuna. Bret Hart comes for a third and Yokozuna counters with his own. Yokozuna drops an elbow. Yokozuna lifts Bret up and throws him into the corner. Yokozuna drives his shoulder into the midsection of Hart. Yokozuna steps back and goes for a splash. Hart lifts the boot up and catches Yokozuna. Hart goes to the second rope and jumps on the back of Yokozuna locking in the sleeper. Yokozuna is fighting it and drops down to a knee. Then Yokozuna stands back up and just falls back crushing Bret. Yokozuna is making his way back up. Yokozuna goes for a leg drop and connects on Hart. Yokozuna is back up and goes for a second one. Bret rolls out of the way. Hart hits the ropes and hits a dropkick sending Yokozuna flat on the mat. Bret grabs Yokozuna’s legs and tries to apply the Sharpshooter. Yokozuna kicks Bret away. Yokozuna is on one knee. Hart runs from behind and grabs Yokozuna for a bulldog. Bret covers Yokozuna but he kicks out at 1. Bret comes running at Yokozuna and is met with a chop. Yokozuna uses the ropes to get up. Bret comes in and is hit with a superkick. Yokozuna picks up Bret and whips him into the corner. Yokozuna runs in and Bret dodges. Bret jumps on Yokozuna in the corner but Yokozuna grabs him. Bret hangs on to the top turnbuckle. Yokozuna pulls him so hard the top turnbuckle pad comes off. Yokozuna drops Bret Hart to the mat. Yokozuna drags Bret to the corner. He climbs up for the Bonzai Drop. Bret Hart rolls out of the way. Bret Hart is trying to get up and Yokozuna is trying to get up too. Yokozuna is up as the ref puts back the turnbuckle pad. Yokozuna goes to grab Bret Hart but he moves right when Mr. Fuji throws salt. Yokozuna is blinded. Yokozuna is trying to rub it out. Bret Hart climbs to the top rope and comes off with a double axe handle. Yokozuna falls down. Bret Hart covers him and Yokozuna kicks out at 2. Yokozuna is using the ropes to get up. He doesn’t know where Hart is. Bret comes over and Yokozuna hits Bret square in the jaw with a kick. Mr. Fuji grabs a cup of water from the announce table and hands it to Yokozuna. He pours it over his face. Yokozuna sees Hart trying to get up in the corner. He runs at Bret and he moves out of the way. Bret Hart goes to the second rope and goes for a crossbody. Yokozuna catches Hart and hits a samoan drop. Yokozuna hits the ropes and drops a leg drop. Yokozuna drags Hart to the corner. He ascends to the middle rope and lands the Bonzai Drop. The ref counts to 3 and Yokozuna is announced the victory.
