Sounded to me like the coaching staff knew what the rules were. The decision to take the ball first has been questioned, but Shanahan said that was their decision in hopes of having the first possession of “sudden death” if it got that far. Defense had also just been on the field, so I can understand taking the ball first.
In addition to the Niners players who weren’t aware of the rules, even Hardman who caught the winning TD wasn’t fully aware that the game was over. It’s not complicated, not sure why it’s hard for players to understand.

Im good. It stings a little more then the previous two just cause this team was loaded. You start to ask, "if not now..when?"...but then when you look at everything.."When" could be 2024, 2025, 2026 etc...This team is, was and will still be stacked for a few more years. Just look at the past 5 years. 4 outta the last 5 NFC Championship Games and 2 outta the last 5 Super Bowls. Literally the only team that has been on our level is the Chiefs. Dallas? Destroyed em....Philly? Embarrassed em....Tampa, Detroit, GB, LA? All have to have an "everything must go right" scenario to win against us. 38 playoff wins, 19 NFC Championship game appearances....The Super Bowl runs through us one way or another. As for the "whining" fans...the only ones Ive seen whine are irrational wanting Kyle fired or Purdy released etc. The only whining I tend to see is from other fan bases (who we beat) who are glad someone else beat us. Its pretty bad when a fan base will celebrate an injury to someone just because he punked your fat ass "head of security" Sounded to me like the coaching staff knew what the rules were. It was the right decision. KC's defense was GASSED (as was ours) we then put them on the field for 7 minute drive...But you gotta score. You know Mahomes is getting a TD. You have to put up 7 points. Even if they go for two and win it later, you gotta make sure you unload your clip and leave nothing in the chamber. If we both scored 7 and the Niners get the ball we easily move it down the field into FG range and hopefully Moody knocks it through.

Taking the ball first was totally the correct call by the 49ers. And if we are honest if not for two fluke special teams plays it’s not even a conversation. If they make the extra point and/or don’t have the ball bounce off a players heel on the punt I believe the 49ers win the game. Sometimes it’s nothing more than dumb luck.

I hesitate to call it dumb luck or lucky in any fashion, but Greenlaw’s injury had a huge effect on the rest of the game.

This draft today is going to be insane. I honestly don't expect any of these QBs to be franchise level at this point.
Interested to see who takes a flier on Joe Milton

Yeah I have a friend who is a Bills fan and she was struggling, and got nothing out of it. And they go and trade with the Chiefs of all teams for Xavier Worthy. Surely that won’t come back to haunt them.
