So basically Corgan bought a TV time slot and some talent contracts? If you rebrand without the tape library, you basically lose the history. Almost like starting a new promotion from scratch. He probably did save a ton of jobs though. I'm glad that the stuff from the years when I really enjoyed TNA will end up on the network. The TV time slot is the most important part of the deal for him. Without that spot on POP, TNA is just another independent wrestling promotion. So the history is irrelevant without a platform for new content. I think most people agree that TNA is viewed as a negative brand and they'll never recover from that identity in the eyes of most fans. So I do think Billy is approaching this as a new promotion, only he has a TV deal, roster and creative team already in place. TNA ending but people keeping their jobs is a win imo. There will be a group of us who will always remember that TNA was the NWA to this new promotion's WCW, but TNA needs a fresh start, a real fresh start. If that has to come at the expensive of WWE getting their history, in a place where it's far more accessible might I add, then so be it. Totally agree with you, and this really is the best possible scenario for all involved, including us fans.

You take a piece of crap and put a nice, new, shiny label on it. It's still a piece of crap. I can applaud Corgan for wanting to own a wrestling company. But I know guys who worked for him before in Chicago. I have no faith in him. Whatever it's going to be called will never compete or even compare. You talking about resistance pro? Did a few shows for them. I have nothing but good things to say about it.

Guys... it's not that difficult. TNA has been bought by WWE.. so every single footage TNA has ever produced or filmed is now WWEs. TNA is officially DEAD.. NO MORE. Billy Corgan is basically re-branding what used to be TNA into a new company. New name and everything but still with the roster that they have currently.

This is actually a pretty smart move for Dixie Carter, as she can pretty much sell TNA twice......you sell the TNA video library to WWE, and you sell the actually company to Billy Corgan, who rebrands it as something other than TNA.
I think it's a win-win for everyone. We'll have to see how this plays out.

Well this seems like a win/win.
The name TNA has to go. It's awful. It was a double entendre that only Russo & Jarrett found funny. Re-branding the name is the best thing for them. Now if they can officially get Dixie out, they may have a punchers chance.
And now WWE can use footage for talents like Sting, AJ, Roode, & Joe. It will make career retrospective DVDs even better than before. And adds more content to the Network.
Like I said... win/win.

From what I've been told the locker room wasn't very friendly and there was a lot of problems with payoffs and whatnot.

I don't really know how this will work. So if WWE bought the library and puts the library up, wouldn't that entice people to watch the new promotion? Because it will still be the same roster, just a different name.

Yeah, if Mattel could get to work on a Joker Sting Elite ASAP, that'd be great.

Sounds good to me. As long as Corgan gets rid of the six sided ring I'll be happy. I was never able to buy into that gimmick.

Because it will still be the same roster, just a different name. WWE will slowly put up footage, so it's not like it will all instantly be there on the network. By the time they get to Tnas roster now the roster will probably be completely different, they haven't even finished putting Raws up.

This is similar to the WWE’s purchase of the AWA.

I'm still not 100% convinced that the sale happened, but ill play along as if its true. First, reason why im not 100% convinced its true is because it wasn't someone like Meltzer breaking the news. So on the sale, its a win for everyone involved. A quote from Wrestlezone, Dixie gets a payday on selling TNA to Corgan, Corgan makes money on a library that will be useless to him if he wanted to start fresh, and Vince gets thousands of hours of wrestling for the Network, which i bet won't air in a year or two, which i prefer they wait before airing it on the Network. Id rather they finish most of their incomplete sections before starting new ones. Its a great deal for everyone involved, that is if Dixie doesn't care about being on TV anymore or finally decided to do the right thing for the company

Maybe in a year or two or once they complete their incompleted sections, then we'll start seeing TNA on the Network
