I haven't watched or read anything yet, but is the formal name going to be Nintendo Switch for their next console?

Without good third party support and more first party games that people want to play, all of the neat features are meaningless like the last few Nintendo consoles. I really hope this time is different.

I really hope this time is different. I believe the third party support will be there this time. It already has Dragon Quest X and Dragon Quest XI from Square Enix, Just Dance 2017 from Ubisoft, and Project Sonic 2017 from Sega confirmed, with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim from Bethesda Game Studios, Riverside from Zockrates Laboratories, RISE: Race The Future from VD-Dev, and NBA 2K17 from 2K Sports all but confirmed. There's even a rumor that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on the Switch, too. As far as first party games go, Nintendo has a strong launch title in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild; and have Super Mario and Pokémon games set to come out within the first six months of the console's release.

I really hope this time is different. My thoughts exactly. Backwards compatibility would be nice too, but Nintendo are pretty good for that anyway. I wouldn't need to keep my Wii U (And possibly 3DS) around.

It's nice. But they have said that before too. I'll need to see actual games instead of publishers who have agreed to develop something for it. Nintendo's biggest problem is that even if they get third party support, most people loyal to Nintendo only buy first party titles. Its hard to keep third parties on board when despite having an install base of over 100 million units with the Wii, no one is buying your game because it doesn't have Mario, Link, Kirby, or Samus in it. People beg for third party support but they in turn have to support third party titles.

I really hope this time is different. Well, they have already announced Skyrim Special Edition and NBA 2k for the Switch so I feel like we are off to a good start. This console is everything the WiiU should have been. Portable but powerful. They settled my main fear when all the rumors were going around that there wouldn't be a "standard" controller but the Pro controller looks damn near perfect. And I don't think the JoyCon set-up looks that bad either. I still hear rumors of motion controls, but based off the trailer it looks like they are minimal at best so hopefully that holds true. That is my only remaining fear about the system.

I don't know how I feel about this, but it does look interesting. I'd be interested to see what games come out for this, but I just really hope it does some good for Nintendo.

I really hope this time is different. Well they showed pictures of what looks like Skyrim being playable. So there's hope. GameFreak announced they're making a Pokemon game for it. So if there is a main title game created, this console is a for sure purchase. But hot damn, I'm impressed regardless.

I've never played Skyrim before, so this would be a good opportunity for me to finally try it.
