As is the case for every Nintendo device since the GameCube, I will be getting this. I personally feel that the Wii U will go down as one of the most underrated consoles of all time due to the horrible choice of naming it the Wii U. I hope this a good follow up that sells better.

People exaggerate how great PlayStation 4 and XBox One are. I have all three current gen consoles and Wii U is the only one that hasn't given me any problems or bored me to death. I play XB1 casually and have stopped playing PS4 altogether, but I still play Wii U religiously, even after four years. It's a criminally underrated console. I'm completely sold on the Switch and plan on pre-ordering it as soon as it becomes available.

Nintendo reveals plans for Nintendo Switch presentation
"In a presentation to financial analysts today in Tokyo, Nintendo Co., Ltd. president Tatsumi Kimishima announced that major details regarding the company’s new Nintendo Switch home gaming system will be shared at the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017. This will be an event for invited media, financial analysts and trade partners in Tokyo that will be globally livestreamed on Jan. 12, U.S. time. The presentation will include the launch date and pricing for Nintendo Switch, as well as a look at the lineup of games currently in development.
Kimishima also announced that Nintendo Switch sampling events for invited media, partners, and consumers will take place in the U.S. and Europe after the presentation at later dates. There will be opportunities for the public to participate in other hands-on events around the same time, details of which will be announced later.
The exact time of the Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 will be announced through Nintendo’s social media channels in the coming weeks."

I can't wait to see what other games they're working on.

Well, the event was pretty underwhelming for me personally but I'm a fanboy so of course I've already pre-ordered. I've never really loved the big 3-D Zelda games. So, Breath of the Wild being the only game available at launch made the event sorta "meh" to me. That said, I'm really interested in this one just because I like big, open world experiences. So, even in saying it was underwhelming, it still gave me something to be excited about... I just wish more games were available at launch. Not even the Mario Kart 8 port is gonna be on launch day.
I pre-ordered Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey on Amazon... Got the console on Best Buy. Now, we play the waiting game...

I'm not upset about the launch lineup. By the time I beat Breath of the Wild, more games will have been released.

I loved the look of Zelda, Mario Oddysey, Mario Kart and Street Fighter II and the console looks a lot of fun, but there is no defending the price of the controllers. I would actually go as far to say that the retail price of the controllers, especially the pro one is ing disgusting. I love Nintendo I have done since I got a NES in 1989, but there are some very questionable things about this console. But hey we have to overlook them because it is Nintendo.

Zelda looks awesome, but other than that, I thought the revel was a complete dud.
-More wacky motion control crap -Lack of available launch games -Insane accessory prices -Tiny default controller -Not a lot of third party support mentioned -No mention of a Metroid, Pokemon, Starfox, F-Zero, Kid Icarus, Punchout, Animal Crossing game and many other franchises that people are dying for.
Pre-orders seem easy to get so far so that is a shocking surprise. Otherwise it just looks like more of the same tone deafness from Nintendo. Zelda will also be on the WiiU so there is literally no reason to buy one at launch.

I hated spending the first couple of hours of any game figuring out what the best configuration was, and feeling like I had to buy all the various (and expensive) controller types or accessories. This console doesn't eliminate that problem. And, like you said, the reveal was largely a dud. Still, I put a pre-order in this morning with Amazon, just in case any new info drops or I change my mind. Never hurts. I'll more than likely end up cancelling, though.

Motion controls are optional. You don't have to use them.

Looks okay, I've been a Nintendo fan since The N64, and I've never been disappointed by Nintendo except for the Wii U, but the Switch looks really nice and compatible, Breath of The Wild looks amazing.

Mildly interested since Fire Emblem Warriors and No More Heroes 3 were revealed. Hey, that's just as many games as I was interested in on the Wii U, so that's a good start! The accessories are way over-priced though and the battery life when the console isn't docked isn't that impressive. I'll definitely get this when those two games come out (And by that point I might even find a decent deal to get it cheaper) but I'm plenty content with my PS4 and PC for my gaming needs until then.

Traded in my Wii U and 2ds this morning, and paid the rest off. I'm excited for the Switch, though cautiously. Splatoon 2 and online voice chat sold me

Will this motion control stuff just go away already? It's so frustrating and imprecise!

Big pass for me. It will take A LOT to get me to move away from my PC and Xbox One. PC for all games that aren't racing or sports. Xbox for just that, racing and sports.

got mine pre-ordered. I have a little less than 2 months to change my mind.
Technically i could just play Zelda on my Wii U.
but Splatoon & Mario Kart on Wii U have gotten stale and im ready for a refresher. So i could wait a couple months and just get a Switch when Splatoon 2 launches...but i have the money now, and would probably rather play Zelda on a new console and not the one i've had for 4 years already
