For Christmas 1 of my gifts I unwrapped was actually the Bobby Heenan 2 disc DVD release, haven't watched it yet - but will get around to it soon.

One of the things I appreciate most about Bobby is something that I rarely see brought up. I notice it a lot on Nitro.
When doing commentary, Bobby would often say that he was getting some information in his headset and would seemingly just come up with this narrative of something going on back stage, e.g. "I just heard that there's so many police backstage, you can't even get back there... they've got Savage in cuffs. The man has gone nuts!" It would always put over whatever drama was happening on the show. Maybe he was being told to say those things, but I don't think so. I think he was just making it up on the fly.

booked my flight and hotel to mania today so next is booking to go to wrestlecon and finally get to meet the man himself!!! Cant wait to me the Brain!!!

During my 30 year wrestling fandom, there have only been a select few that felt like they were actual family. Bobby is one of them. It brings a smile to my face knowing he's still alive out there. During the Prime Time wrestling days, we didn't always get the best action every Monday. But Bobby and his dry wit kept ya tuning in each week. You could miss seeing a Big Boss Man vs Jim Powers Main Event, but you couldn't miss what Bobby had planned.

Well said, he's truly one of a kind. Just hoping he's doing well after this week (steele, koloff, bass) as I can't wait to finally meet him at wrestlecon.

Pretty sure I posted this somewhere else on this site, but I have trouble sleeping without the TV on. I used to frequently put in a wrestling show where Gorilla and Bobby were doing commentary. It didn't matter which one or what the matches were, because I would just lay there with my eyes closed and listen to them. There's no other commentary team that could even come close to entertaining me in such a way that I could enjoy LISTENING to wrestling.

one of fav memories:
him and monsoon. it was rougeau's as good guys vs islanders I think. islanders just did some cheating, and monsoon was going off on them sayin "they are no good, lyin, cheating, dihonest, dirtbags" or whatever and heenan was like "the Rougeau's?" and monsoons like "NO, the islanders"!
