I'm just trying to wrap my head around a 10-page frenzied thread of excitement over this set, with people throwing offers of $100 - $150 out there! Hysteria.

What's the price on this set? $100-$150 might not be crazy depending on how much it costs an Australian to buy it then ship it to the U.S. I personally wouldn't buy. Plenty of better toys to spend that kind of cash on.

it bothers me that stuff like this gets "cancelled" but still ends up being released, just not in the US
like than random BAF set we never saw and apparently the HOF cactus jack
like....if something has made it to production facilities, why not offer to ship it to the US? sell it to chains like big lots or something.

Ah, you guys (US) already have plenty of store exclusives though... it's kind of cool that other countries have some too.

It may depend on how much inventory they actually wound up with of that product before it was cancelled. Let's face it, the US is a far bigger market than some countries overseas. So it may make sense for them to release their limited stock in day Australia, just to get rid of them. I feel that if they wanted to offload that inventory in the US it would create more problems.

Target would probably get pissed that they were selling an exclusive line to them, but at a different store in the same market. The hof figures are made specifically for target, so it might be breaking some kind of arangment they have with them...even though they canceled it.

We also don't know how many were actually produced. I would say judging by how many have shown up on eBay, that it was a very small amount. So just to get rid of that inventory they may have off loses them to one of their smallest markets. And that would actually make note sense then sending say less than a 1000 figures to a market the size of the United States. That's cause more of an uproar than this. Gains who knows if there were 1000 made or 100, but it was obviously a very small number.

I agree, I think the amount produced may have been too small to sell to retailers like Marshalls/TJ Maxx or Big Lots because they are buying stock for hundreds of stores. Might have been too small even for Ross, which I think has fewer stores. I've seen toys with the Target exclusive logo in discount stores. I doubt Target kept them from US stores, unless there is a WWE rule.

I think I'm the only one who doesn't think this set is that good..... I already have the Outsiders Battle pack...... and it's coming out again, anyway.... We have a million Eddie Guerreros already..... I wasn't dying for one in street clothes.... And Larry Zbysko? He was retired before most of us were born, not sure I understand this huge demand..... Not trying to be negative here, but this set has "shelfwarmer" written all over it..... Nah, I'm glad it got scrapped. Three street clothes figures and a pretty obscure old timer don't make for a very good set. But we definitely don't have that many Eddie's. He's only had two Elites right? And not many more basics. We really need a NEW Elite version to replace Legends 6. Something from his championship run but without the ridiculous arms and in a color other than red.

WM20 Eddie elite with gold boots instead of orange would be pretty sweet.

LMFAO @ random people from Australia getting "rich" off these four packs, with one on evilBay going for approximately $300 (42 bids w/a little over a day left on the listing). Meanwhile, Mattel could have been making money off this themselves and "filling that need rather than someone on [auction sites]" to paraphrase a past quote from Bill, regarding reissues/re-releases. Yet that not-exactly-verbatim quote is still fairly applicable in reference to this excellently named — despite its admittedly flawed execution, subjectively speaking that is, albeit also seemingly considered as such according to the general consensus as well — "Nitro Notables" set!

This set would've warmed just as hard as any of the other 4 packs, if it ever even made it to retail. The only people spending that much money in this are the collectors with more cash than brains

I see why this was pulled, the worst 4 pack idea yet I'd only buy it for zbysko

I'd buy this set, full retail, for that Scott Hall head. I don't think it's a *huge* improvement over the DM/basic one they've been using up until this point, but at least it's different.

the Scott hall/nash ones should be in the next 2 pack wave with wcw world tag belts. That would be really nice to have happen lol
