In my opinion I feel like 02 is overrated as far as it being the greatest Survivor Series of all time I mean there are so many Survivor Series PPVs that definitely deserve to be considered other than 02 like 05, 04, 03, 01 especially 01 because of the whole WWF vs Team Alliance Winner Take All but also because it was more or less WWF superstars taking on Alliance superstars in every single match on the card and also the Survivor Series Deadly Game tournament of 1998 has definitely got to be up there

Why do so many people like 2002? It didn't even have a survivor series match.

87. It was just stacked with great superstars in every match. Close second is 1989 since I was there front row!

2002. Such a stacked show. The first and best Elimination Chamber match, Hardcore Women's Championship match, Fun Tables match (and The Dudley's return), Amazing Tag Title Match, Great Cruiserweight Title match, and Scott Steiner's return.
1998 was great too; probably the 2nd best. "The Rock just got ahead".

2002
-The first and best EC ever -Amazing triple-threat tag team match for the SD Tag Titles -Lesnar/Big Show (quick match but hugely hyped and entertaining for the short amount of time they got) -Scott Steiner returns to the WWE (the pop he got was out of this world)

It's hard to argue with 02, but I think 03 deserves some recognition so I gave it a vote. It was my favourite as a kid when I didn't fully appreciate 02 but I still think 03 was pretty underrated. Undertaker almost killing Vince only for Kane to turn on his brother. I know people hated the Shane/Kane feud but I always loved the idea of Shane standing up for his family against this monster. Sure it made Kane look weaker than he should but he always won the matches, and the ambulance match was great fun. Then you had my favourite Survivor Series elimination match ever - Team Bischoff vs Team Austin. You really felt the emotion when HBK brought it from 3 on 1 only to be screwed by Batista. Thinking about it JR's commentary played a big impact in this match too. Sending fans happy with Goldberg going through the whole of Evolution too, but I remember being too exhausted by that match. Perhaps not the best, but very nostalgic for me. Should go back and watch it see if it's as entertaining as I remember. Can't agree more

They are all kind of neat so it is hard to just pick two.
I went with 1987, since every November I usually find myself watching that PPV still to this day! I rented it so much when I was a kid, that I guess its just kept going for me to continue watching it.
I also picked 1991, since that one was a pretty enjoyable Survivor Series as well. Four elimination matches, plus the WWE Title match with Undertaker and Hulk Hogan. Pretty solid show!

1996
Decent elimination match to showcase Furnas & Lafon.
Classic Bret vs Austin in their first PPV match.
Sid's best match, helped by the hot MSG crowd, as he beats Shawn for the WWF title.

Even though it had no traditional Survivor Series matches, 2002 is the GOAT.

I voted for 02 and 03. Survivor Series 2002 was stacked from top to bottom and 2003 had Team Austin vs Team Bischoff where Shawn Michaels put on one of the best performances in his entire career.

Because the show is awesome. It was an awesome PPV but a terrible Survivor Series. It's the best Survivor Series PPV. Even if it didn't have SS matches, it still ruled. If WWE did Hell in a Cell next year and had no Cell matches, it would be dumb, but if the show was awesome, it would be the best HIAC ever.

The thing about Survivor Series is having that Survival/Elimination aspect and 2002 had that because of the Elimination Chamber match. So IMO you can't even really say it doesn't live up to the Survivor Series gimmick.

Love the first four, 1987-1990, because they were all the theme of the PPV. 1991 & 1993 I want to include too even though it had one non-team match each, but they were for belts, so that's acceptable to me. 1992 fell off the rails with what it was supposed to be, 1994 was mostly held together by teams but was the beginning of the end and by the New Generation era it was all over for me. I always liked the appeal of teams getting together and facing each other.
As for my favorite, I can't pick just one. I like the concept of a full card (not including dark matches) having teams 'survive' against one another.

Nothing will ever top the classic Survivor Series events from the late 80s/early 90s IMO.
I also gotta give a nod to that classic theme from back in the day. Saxophone and all.
